They offer: * $.99 oysters (raw or steamed) * $.99 wings * $.75 mussels (steamed) Just a heads-up: everything must be ordered by the dozen--but that actually worked out well for sharing. The wings were meaty but not as crispy or saucy as I prefer. We had to ask for extra buffalo sauce, and the flavor was just okay. Mussels were decent--nothing mind-blowing, but solid for the price. The only real miss was the Caesar salad--ours came with cheddar cheese instead of Parmesan and didn't taste like Caesar dressing at all. Not sure if we were given the wrong salad entirely, but we ate it anyway and moved on. Bottom line: Not everything was perfect, but the clam chowder and Happy Hour deals alone make this place worth a visit--especially for families looking for great seafood without breaking the bank. I came in for a late lunch today and sat at the bar. There were a bunch of locals there and everyone was so nice. They also had some really great music playing. The bartender was nice and I noticed that they have unbelievable happy hour food specials from 4-5. 95 cent oysters and shrimp I have never heard of them being that cheap. I ordered a dozen raw oysters and they were not bad. Truthfully, I cannot Dom's oysters on MB that even come close to Wilmington. She said they were from the James River. I would definitely eat them Again though for how inexpensive they were. I also ordered a cup of the clam chowder and it was to die for. Fran blame all through it- one of the best!!!! Nothing special. I got the seafood wrap (blackened grouper) and it was SO so so salty! The tater tots tasted like the frozen ones from Walmart. My husband had the fried grouper on a brioche bun (seawich) which was "ok" and his onion rings also tasted like the frozen Walmart ones. We got there at opening so there was no one in there which was good. Very bar atmosphere. The waitress was very attentive to us. We ordered 2 dozen steamed oysters and a steam pot which included crab legs ($35 extra for two clusters) mussels, potatoes, corn and shrimp. Nothing was seasoned, everything was dry as a bone. Mussels were dried up, I forgot there was little neck clams in there because they definitely were little smaller than the size of a dime. They too were dry. Corn was cold, potatoes were raw and hard. Shrimp was not edible. I was utterly disappointed in the food. $180 bill. This is definitely a place where I can only assume that you'd have to be drunk to like it. read more

Found this place by looking up "best oysters in MB" since we were here during Tropical Storm Debbie & were fighting tremendous rain & winds, we figured may as well eat what we love. If we didn't have dinner reservations later that night we would have waited for their "Happy Hour" for the 95c oysters ~ but we were glad we went anyhow. We belly'd up to the bar and were greeted by JR, super guy. Very friendly and let us know his favorites. The oysters were all different sizes, all of them delicious, buttery and very fresh. We had 3 or 4 dozen. A dozen mussels, a blackened fish sandwich, and a blackened grilled fish wrap. All were delicious but we could have stopped at the mussels. We met a few locals, Jewish Steve as he called himself told us stories of Poughkeepsie, his lamb dishes, and jokes. If we weren't leaving the next day we'd have gone back. Our hotel owner recommended this spot and billed it as "where the locals hang out", which implied being the place to go. We walked a short distance from our hotel. There was, however, a large parking lot. The place was large, but old and dark. We sat, and were immediately served by Braden; he was awesome. He gave us the lowdown on any questions we had about the place and the food. We ordered fried calamari. Being from RI, Calamari capital of the US, I was skeptical. However, it was delicious! Cooked perfectly, served with cocktail sauce ( as opposed to marinara sauce). I loved the drink menu, a lot of old school drinks I knew from back in the day!! I had the Long Island Ice Tea.... So good, and you could taste the alcohol. Although my husband can't remember the drink he had last night, he does remember it being delicious! He had a Po' Boy with blackened shrimp and fries. He said the delicious word again! I had a fish sandwich (fish of the day) made with grouper. Mine, too, was blackened, and perfectly so! I opted for hush puppies, since I had never had them before, and Braden recommended them very highly. I have to say it.... Everything was delicious! I haven't raved about a place this much in a long time! We will probably go back here again tonight. If you are in Myrtle Beach, definitely give this place a try. Perfect dive bar for some great seafood and drinks. The oysters were very good and fresh. Calamari Caesar was loaded and well cooked. The hushpuppies were light and fluffy. The only complaint I have is the way the oysters were served. They were in ice and water, then it should have been crushed ice and mounded sea salt. But that is just me being picky. The service was top notch. Our glasses were never empty and she was very nice. Don't pass this place up. Yes it's a bit dive-ish but to me that added to it. Like an old fisherman's wharf feel to it. Great place to go if you're in Myrtle Beach! There were great menu options for reasonable prices, also a large drink menu. Definitely seems like it would be a locals favorite. Those weren't good, but everything else was decent. This place is a true dive. It's dark, the cleanliness is questionable, drinks were slinging, and there seems to be a small regular crowd. Avwrage tourist trap. Food was all over the map. My raw oysters were frozen...2 of them were smaller than a dime. Clumsily perched and swimming in cubed ice. Crushed ice or rocksalt ppl. Anything fried was ok...my wife had crabcakes and they were good as was her coleslaw and steamed broccoli. My son had a fishermans sampler platter that was supposed to include fish of the day. .which should have been grouper. Instead it was swai ..which is about the cheapest junk fish you can buy. I am very torn by this review... There is both bad and good... I'll start with the bad: COVID precautions: Server and bartender were both not wearing masks. That was a bit concerning. We kept our masks on the entire time we weren't eating/drinking. Tables were appropriately spaced and cleaned between each seating. Food: We can specifically for happy hour. Great deals were to be found. $.65 oysters (raw or steamed) and shrimp (fried or steamed). We ended up with 3 dozen oysters and 3 dozen steamed shrimp. The seasoning was fantastic. Plenty of cocktail, horseradish, and melted butter. Drinks: There were drink specials as well. $.50 off all beer and well liquor specials. Service: The service was great.
