The fried oysters were delicious and the bacon cheeseburger was cooked exactly as ordered. We were greeted immediately and allowed to sit wherever we wanted. We loved our waitress w/ the nickname "Laney." She was sweet like pie. If I were just rating the place based on her, it would be a five :) I give it a three as the place is what you expect at the beach in an older section of downtown Myrtle Beach. We got a table for people watching on the boardwalk & saw the moon burn red high in the sky, as we chowed down our fried pickles and onion rings as the appetizers. This place is your typical beach eats of fried goodness- most of us got the fried chicken sandwich (we asked for no lettuce due to the ongoing parasite situation), and it was yummy and tasty with fries fresh off the grill. The kids liked their footlong hotdogs and pork sándwich. This isn't the place to come if you're looking for vegetables lmao, so plan your diet accordingly. We liked being able to see the tourists and locals come by. The city does blast the "no juveniles alone after 9pm PSA" regularly at dinner so you can hear that while eating. Saw a bunch of older guys completely wasted while they chatted up a younger police officer who took their humor in stride. Anyways, the place is definitely dated, and you can see it had weathered down thru the years. There is no shortage of restaurants on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. We stopped in at Ocean Front Bar and Grill for lunch on a Tuesday in October. It has a great location for beach views and people watching. It's open air with a bar, high tops, and picnic tables. The menu features a variety of apps, sandwiches, and seafood. We seated ourselves inside where menus were already on the tables in a bucket. We started off with some cold beers. They had many varieties on draught and in bottles/cans. I was happy to see they had Bud Light Lime; so that's what I ordered. I also ordered the fried chicken sandwich, ($14.99.). It was a super thin piece of chicken and all of the breading fell off upon the first bite, but it still tasted pretty good. My husband had the flounder & shrimp basket, ($16.99.). He really liked his and said the shrimp was fresh and the flounder was flaky. He said neither tasted liked they had been frozen. We both had French fries with our meal, but they were nothing special. I really wanted to enjoy our visit because this restaurant has a fantastic location right on the ocean, and I have to give credit where it's due--the food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, everything else about the experience was disappointing. The restaurant itself felt dirty. The windows were covered with spiders and thick cobwebs, making it seem like they hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. The restrooms were even worse. They looked like the aftermath of a weekend at Coachella--filthy, poorly maintained, and honestly some of the worst restaurant bathrooms I've seen. What really made the experience uncomfortable was watching several employees openly arguing in front of guests about who was supposed to be doing which job and who was taking over certain roles. It was loud, unprofessional, and incredibly disrespectful to customers who were just trying to enjoy a meal. Staff disagreements should be handled privately, not in the middle of the dining room. It's a shame because the kitchen is clearly doing something right--the food was excellent. But between the lack of cleanliness, the disgusting bathrooms, and the uncomfortable atmosphere created by the staff, this was far from the relaxing beachfront dining experience we were expecting. Until management addresses these issues, I wouldn't choose to dine here again. read more

Eek - I would not touch their seafood again. Classic boardwalk food and atmosphere, but just kinda icky. Definitely comes frozen, not cooked fresh. If you avoid seafood, you can play it safer. We stopped in after having a not so great happy hour experience down the boardwalk and sat at the bar. Connor greeted us and suggested some local beers. Their prices are pretty cheap for craft beers. We decided to try the calamari which comes with a Thai sauce, marinara and a cucumber wasabi sauce. Great variety and I feel in love with the cucumber wasabi sauce. I could drink it. The calamari was cooked the best I have ever had. The breading was a bit heavy and thick but the actual meat was cooked to perfection. No chewy or rubbery bites. I could have eaten so much more of it. The place was huge and fairly dead. we were told we were there between the Spring break craziness and Bike week so it was the calm before the storm. Great view of the water and beautiful patio. Overall, I really liked this place and highly recommend that calamari. read more

Food was fair...hamburger tasted and felt like had been pre-made and frozen(even though their menu says its the best in the area..it is not in our opinion) Philly cheese steak sandwich was pretty good. Mac and cheese bites were only fair. The service was not bad, but not great. Server was slow with drinks and taking order even though the place was not busy. Real issue is they added an 18% gratuity to our bill (only two of us) and had a line for an additional tip. I really enjoyed this place, despite some of the bad reviews I read. The service was decent as were the prices. It isn't 5 stars, but easily 4 or 4.5! They do add gratuity to the check of 18% which seems to be the biggest complaint about this place, but unless service is an abomination, are you really paying less than this? If you are giving servers less than this when service is acceptable , please stay at home. I only had drinks and appetizers. Mac and cheese bites, calamari and buffalo shrimp were all good. Nice place to eat along myrtle beach. We planned to visit ripleys believe it or not after lunch so we stopped here (only about a 3 minute from ripleys). Ordered some beer battered onion rings for the table, solid and the sauce that came with was also pretty tasty. My family member had the grilled chicken sandwich which they said was just okay. Fried shrimp po boy had fresh shrimp (not pictured) overall, the most surprising thing was that they charge an 18% gratuity and a 3.5% credit card fee to your check at the end! One of my favorite spots to grab a drink or two while on the beach. Keep in mind that smoking is allowed here but the large overhead doors are always open so it doesn't seem to get smokey in the bar. How disappointing. We walked in and were ignored. That should have been our sign to chose another place to have a drink. I ordered a mango cart, my cousin ordered a Coors and my husband a sprite and footlong hotdog. My husband waited forever for his hotdog - he could see it sitting in the window while the bar tender socialized and took a smoke break. When he finally served it. It was basically inedible. The chili might have been good last week. I really wish I had thought to snap a photo. There was also a regular (they were all socializing) that every third word was a f bomb.
