Flip Flops Bar & Grill was a great Myrtle Beach find. Once inside, there was such a cozy beach atmosphere. Our service was great. I ordered a Heineken 0.0 to start and followed it with the coconut shrimp & pretzel with cheese dip. Both were so delicious. The shrimp was perfectly battered and the portions were great. We also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the lobster roll. Both very tasty. Also a big fan of the coleslaw. This was such a good find. The food was amazing. There were also a few stores attached to the restaurant to buy souvenirs or alcohol. Overall, I had a great experience. read more

Oh, we're just thrilled to be staying at this rental so close to here. Just couldn't wait to try out this bar/restaurant. The interior is just so amazing, I wish I was a drinker so I could hang out there all the time. And let's not forget the super friendly staff. As for the food, well, the appetizers were the star of it - a half pound of shrimp and some decent potstickers. We order the chicken Parm, the Angus cheeseburger, a lobster roll and fish tacos. The chicken parm taste it like if it was a microwavable chicken Parm sandwich, the bread was soggy The Angus cheeseburger was pretty bland The fish taco have way too much sauce on it And the lobster wasn't that bad but you could taste. I ordered the fish tacos and my husband ordered the fish and chips. My fish tacos were soggy, the tortilla was chewy, and they were bland. The chips and salsa were okay, but nothing to brag about. My daughter got the chicken strips kids meal and they were dark as if they'd been cooked in old oil. It was overall expensive and just not worth how much we paid for dinner. read more

Great burger joint located just across the street from the beach. The burger was really good. It is no frills, pick your own toppings type of burger. This is a cozy eating spot which I could see filing up during busy eating times we enjoyed it on a Monday night and had no problem getting a table. Sweet potato fries were very delicious. They only offer beer in cans and bottles. No beer on tap, which I think would do really well as a beach bar (almost on the beach). read more

We couldn't find the restaurant we were heading for so we rounded back to this place. They were decorating for Halloween. The place was not so busy. Indoor and outdoor seating. Overpriced for what was offered. Small baskets of regular sized hot dog and some fries 9$. Nachos with cheese sauce 12$ Flounder fried fish and chips -small amount 12$. I could've been okay with the food and setting, but the guy and girl serving were rude from the time we walked in. We had to ask every question to get any answers I finally, by asking and reading all the signs, found out that drinks could be reduced by a whopping 50 cents at 4-7 happy hour. Even though our server reportedly could do anything-clean, decorate, make drinks and cook-he was limited to his resources. Up here working for a few weeks and tried this place the first day , excellent service from the waitress and the bill was separated with no problem. I paid for my food and my friend paid for his. Came back the next day and had a different waitress " the blonde with tattoos all over her arms" which is cool because I like tats but her attitude sucks. She acted like we didn't exist after we got our food and never got a refill. When my friend and I were finished she brought the bill. I asked if she would separate it and she with a attitude said no. Well he got beer and a more expensive meal so I was made to pay half of the bill. This is not right and I will see about reporting this to the better business bureau. So are you telling me that I can go in, sit down and order 10 shots of Jack Daniels, the most expensive meal with 2 appetizers and the other person only gets 2 tacos and the bill will be split. Patio is nice and breezy in the summer, but Cold in the winter since it's all covered. Live music outside, TV outside for games, decent food too. Inside is a small bar and a few tables. Lots of locals. They have touch tunes and a couple screens. Good place to end the night if you're staying in the Shore Drive area-Easy walk home. read more

Went here due to condo that we were visiting were right across the street. Meh, wouldn't go here again. Typical beer on tap, nothing special, and the food was horrible. During covid, they do practice social distancing and all but don't go in a big group as you can't move the tables outside, but DO move the chairs. I would only highly recommend going here due to they music. This was seriously the ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PLACE. My first time to Myrtle Beach and Flip Flops was the very first spot I visited. Total FLOP. Food/drink: Drinks were just ok - ordered a mixed drink and had to stir it up myself, so not really mixed. Also served in a plastic disposable cup. Fish tacos were tasteless and the tortilla were chewy. Service: rude and zero customer service skills whatsoever. We were greeted by one server, drinks and food ordered by another and check pickup from a third. The server who brought menus was the best of the three and that was a very short interaction. The server who took our order was very unpleasant. No smile, no pleasantries, no personality. The third and final server only came to the table to drop off the check and request payment. She told us her shift was ending and she wanted to go home. Since we never saw this person, we were confused about why she was asking for payment (and presumably a tip). She checked back and we were visibly confused about who she was since she did not help us out at all during our stay. She said she didn't mean to offend us but her shift was over and she wanted to go home. We stated we felt we were being rushed out and she said she needed to close out her shift but we were welcome to stay. She continued to stand at our table waiting for us to tab out. We asked her for a moment and she left. It is rather strange to expect a tip when you didn't serve the table. Given the drinks being so-so at best, the food mediocre and the service absolutely terrible, we did not leave a tip. Another server came to the table as we were getting ready to leave who told us we were welcome to stay and she would take over a new tab. We declined. Yet another server came to the table to check on us and we asked if he was the Manager and his response was no. He didn't offer to get a manager or ask if we wanted to speak to one. No awareness at all from the service staff at Flip Flops. As we were leaving, the server who wanted to collect a tip and leave yelled at us. "Thank you so much ladies"! As if there was any chance of us ever going back, that sealed the deal. Horribly rude. Zero customer service. As the customer, we should have never known there was a shift change or been made to feel rushed to leave because of it. A shift change should be seamless and if it needs to be explained to a customer, it can be done politely and professionally. Unfortunately, the entire staff needs soft skills training and the cook could use some additional culinary courses. read more

It was a cool place- I'll give it that. The drinks came in styrofoam cups, the utensils were flimsy and plastic, and the plates were a type of plastic as well. The waitress came over and took our cups for a refill, (I got lemonade my boyfriend got water- both had a little bit left in the cup) and swapped them... so my lemonade was watered down and my boyfriends water had a lemonade tint to it.... Not sure the health code in this state but where im from you need to provide a NEW glass and a NEW straw for any additional drink..... waitress was kind, food was meh, not pleased by the silverware. I really wanted to like this place. It's close to the beach and where we are staying, but The bartender and waitress were so rude. The establishment is small and cute. The food was pretty good, but like I said, rude. We Gave it one more try and went back the next day for a beer and again the bartender was so rude to my mom. Flip Flops is cool. It was within walking distance of where we were staying, so we gave it a try. It's just a quaint little beach eatery. The food was decent, but the beer is not as cold as they advertised, LOL. I think that I had a burger and my wife had a chicken sandwich. The best part of this place was the service and live music. Well, the female bartender/waitress is surely hurting this biz. My family was there last night about 10pm. I guess we burdened her by wanting to order some food and a drink. We were also sitting at a dirty table that she said she had no time to clean anf pitch the garbage. She told us " I am too busy; there is a trash can on the patio." It was not a full restaurant. I visited Flip Flops with a bachelor party and had such a fun weekend in general that it carried over to this bar. It's a typical semi-dive bar found in any city. The location directly across from the beach is what differentiates it. The food is average bar food. We ordered nachos, chicken tenders, wings, coconut shrimp, mozzarella sticks and french fries. Nothing was special, but nothing was horrible. The place was packed and there was one waitress, who was also the bartender. You can imagine the disaster this could have been, and at first it was. We nearly left after 15 minutes went by and no one asked us for drinks, and our food took over an hour. Fortunately she had called a friend as a fill-in server (who owns the Boston bar in Charlotte) and he took our orders. He also bought our whole group of 14 a shot, for our troubles. That alone is worth an extra star. This is a fun, cheap bar to pound drinks at, but don't expect amazing food. Maybe the service just had a bad day. While the price is not too steep there is much better you can get for 10-15 dollars for a meal. 2/3 of the staff were rude to me. When walking in the person gigging glared at me which was a great way to enter a business. A bartender came by at some point and was rude to both me and this elderly man. Best waitstaff in Myrtle! The servers are the best! This was within walking distance from our condo and we went a few nights. The servers ended up knowing our drink orders when we returned. They were all very friendly and any of them could get you a drink and add it to your tab. The drinks were good. The patio was great. They had live music (Steve & Susie) and it was very enjoyable.
