Solid food. Pricey. We had reservations at 5 PM and showed up at 4:50 PM and waited for them to open the doors. This is the first Michelin rated restaurant in Myrtle Beach. We were excited to try it out and made reservations a month ago for my birthday. Hostess was kind and pleasant.We were seated quickly. Our server, Nick, was very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. There were four of us, so we all tried something different. The place was very neat and clean. The tomato appetizer was small, but it exploded with taste. My wife got the Seabass and it was phenomenal. I got the pork chops and they were excellent, the best that I ever had that were not breaded. The sauce was phenomenal and it was perfect for the garlic mashed potatoes. We were looking forward most to the lobster mac & cheese, but disappointed that it was bland. We were also disappointed that they did not have the French onion soup this week. The potatoes au gratin stole the show. All four of us agreed those were the best. The polenta base under my wife's Seabass was not edible. Overall, it was a great experience and we definitely would go back and we would order the ribeye and try the other sides such as the brussels sprouts the next time. The ribeye was that great. We are in Myrtle beach for vacation and got to go here one night for dinner. We had the ribeye cap, gratin, broccolini, and lobster bisque. It was great dinner and we really enjoyed it!! Emily and I recently dined at O.A.K. Prime Kitchen, and it was nothing short of an exceptional experience from start to finish. We were visiting from Arizona, and this meal absolutely made our trip even more memorable. I ordered the Australian Wagyu steak special, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The charred crust on the outside paired with the tender, flavorful inside made it one of the best steaks I've ever had. Emily went with the Chilean Seabass special, beautifully presented over risotto, with lump crab, asparagus, and a sauce that tied all the flavors together in the most delicious way. We also tried their Rockefeller oysters, and the hollandaise sauce on them was out of this world -- rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. For dessert, we shared the s'mores bread pudding, which we were told was a first-time creation. It was so good that we're crossing our fingers it becomes a permanent menu item. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. A special thank you to Cheryl, our server, who was so kind, uplifting, and genuinely made the night even more memorable. Found O.A.K. Prime during a recent business trip this week after watching Knife Edge and then casually searching for Michelin rated restaurants. This restaurant recently was awarded Michelin recognition which I suppose is just before earning a star. It was the only restaurant in Myrtle Beach on the Michelin site, so we decided to give it a try. We were 5 gentlemen from all corners of the US and all travel extensively for business, so have eaten all over. I think we all agreed hands down, this was one of the best all around meals we had each ever had! We had appetizers, escargot and the shrimp over ravioli to start. I had their just made French onion soup (one of the best I've ever had), the sea bass while the others have various steaks each cooked to perfection! After being filled to the gills, our lovely server Bri talked us into the carrot cake, apple bread pudding (best dessert ever!) and the chocolate chip cookie skillet to sample! Each and every bite was just superb! I'm from MA and a lobster fan, but the lobster on top of the sea bass could quite possibly be the best piece of lobster I've ever tasted! Don't be fooled by the location...seemingly in a strip mall and they recently turned an outdoor patio into an indoor seating area that's intimate and cozy. Perfect setting for us to have good conversation and not having to yell over crowded restaurant noise. It was however a Tuesday night and not overly busy, but I suspect now that the Michelin team has them on their radar it will only be a matter of time before the secret is out! Thanks to Bri for a very enjoyable night with her pleasantries and knowledge of the restaurant and each dish to the ingredient! Very pleased all the way around and will make this an annual visit during our conference! If this is an example of what Michelin ratings are all about then I'm excited to search out more Michelin restaurants during my travels! O.A.K. Prime is located in strip mall - it's all up from there. We went to O.A.K. for our vacation 'date night' after hearing high praise for it (spoiler: it was worthy of the praise). We were warmly greeted by our server who ran us through the items unique to the day. Throughout the meal, the server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We first tried a split of champagne which was reasonably priced and delicious and a 'The Tally Man' (rum - I have had many rum drinks across many vacation spots and this one was special and tasty). They have a short wine by the glass selection - with dinner we tried a glass of their pinot noir and cabernet - the wine was fairly priced and both were pretty good. For dinner we had the watermelon salad (just delicious) and the smoked oysters; again, I have had oysters prepared many different ways and these were delicious and unique. For mains we had the duroc pork chops (very large portion and quite tasty) and the day's fish (which was Chilean sea bass with a lobster claw and a wonderful sauce). Both were amazing. Prices were appropriate. O.A.K. is expanding their current space so more people can enjoy it. read more

Enjoyed nice date night here while on vacation. A very classy and nice steakhouse. It was close to closing time when we arrived, they close at 9pm. We were seated right away and ordered our entrees right away. I ordered the prime short ribs which came with potato purée and collard greens. It was so good!! Very tasty and the ribs were very tender. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye and a side of Brussels sprouts. The ribeye was so good, tender and juicy with an amazing sear! I am mad it took me so long to try this place. I was impressed...hands down best short rib in Myrtle Beach. The wagyu Ribeye was to die for, filet was superb, prok chops excellent, the sides were outstanding recommend the Mac and au gratin. I love carrot cake and to my surprise it was THE BEST OF MY LIFE. Today was our first day being back in town, we visit the area every few months and decided to try something new tonight. The restaurant is small with tasteful and modern ambiance, warm lighting and a beautiful bar that spans almost the length of the entire restaurant. We started the meal with a dozen petite oysters and escargot, both were an amazing start. The oysters are served with a unique fruity minuet. The escargot are served still bubbling with crispy bread and of course a delicious garlic butter. We all absolutely loved our main dishes and everyone got something different. The short ribs were cooked perfectly and balanced with a rich mashed potato and tangy collard green. The polenta and fried goat cheese ravioli were rich and completely gone at the end of the meal. My husband loved the lamb chops, and said the sauce was sweeter but complex and really added to the meal. We also couldn't help ourselves and added the lobster Mac and cheese. Get it, 100%. Such complex flavor and huge pieces of lobster. We absolutely loved it. We ended the meal with chocolate martinis and pecan crème brûlée. Our server was wonderful, very thoughtful, speedy, and kind. I've seen a lot of reviews saying the prices are too high. The portion sizes were large, the quality of food was above average wonderful, and we will definitely be coming back! A group of 13 of us went to O.A.K. Prime to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday this weekend. The service was AMAZING! Our servers were attentive, fast (but not rushed), and on top of everything. Our drinks were never empty! I ordered the Delmonico Ribeye. I literally have no words to describe how amazing it was! It was the perfect med rare and it had melt in your mouth flavor. Really enjoyed my visit to O.A.K. as it has been one of my favorite hidden gems in the area when I go on vacation since it was originally Cypress Grille. We started with the O.A.K. Shrimp Appetizer which had the most delicious sauce, but we did wish there were more than just three shrimp, especially for splitting, maybe even a fourth would've added to it, but nonetheless, it was delicious. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Fish Du Jour which was the Blackened Alaskan Halibut with Crab Meat and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. We were both raving about how light it was with perfect flavor. Our mistake was to not ask the price before ordering the special. My only complaint is that it was extremely expensive ($62 each) for the smaller piece of fish even though it truly was cooked to perfection, and we just wished the prices were more transparent on the menu/specialty menu. Overall, it was a great night out and our server was fantastic. It wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday as we asked to sit outside since it was so nice out. Hands down some of the BEST food you will have in Myrtle Beach. You may even think you're in Charleston while eating at O.A.K., it's that good. We had the One of A Kind biscuits with lavender jam, they were delicious. Then I ordered the Chilean Sea bass with risotto and flash fried spinach. Every bite was outstanding!! We got the truffle fries as a side (it's big enough to share), those were great too, as well as the accompanying sauce. My husband also enjoyed his filet. I'm a little late posting this review. I've been meaning to try this place for the past year or so for the prime beef. I planned to take my wife for her birthday in January so I went by there to look at the seating arrangements around noon, but the door was locked so I had to go by what I could get on the phone. I called later that day and finally got someone on the phone and made a reservation. I specifically asked for a booth because I do not like bench seating, especially if I'm paying the kind of prices they're charging. The girl on the phone assured me that I would get a booth. Upon arriving, the girl had not even bothered to write down that I insisted upon a booth and the booths were full, leaving only bench seating. The atmosphere did not seem that good either because there were no candles on the table. All overhead lighting which reminded me too much of a cafeteria. I don't know why restaurants don't tweak the ambience which will go a long way, especially if they're charging that much for prime beef. I've lived here over 40 years and I've gone to all the nice restaurants through the years, including New York prime, Ruth's, Chris, Collectors Café, etc. so I know what I'm comparing it to. We went to a sushi restaurant instead. Very disappointed and I will not give them another try. Very unprofessional booking. read more

Even with our large party, our customer service was top notch. We felt taken care of, welcomed, and like special guests! The food was better than we could have ever imagined. Our party of 8 consisted of 7 first timers, and we will ALL be back. The French onion soup was the best I had ever tasted. The biscuits were AMAZING. The cocktails were perfectly crafted. I had an incredible birthday dinner here with my daughter and son-in-law. Our server was Lindell who was so attentive and talked with the chef about my gluten intolerance. He made me a special order of mushrooms because I couldn't have the appetizer of mushroom bruschetta. They were so delicious. For my entree I had Chilean Sea Bass served over Risotto and broccolini....all cooked to perfection. I didn't order desert but my family ordered creme brulee to split. They brought it out with a candle and "Happy Birthday" written on the plate. I did try it and it was the best I've ever had. When we were done, Lindell suggested we meet the owner and chef JK. This is a true hidden gem down here in South Carolina. If in the Myrtle Beach area get away from the oceanfront and come to O.A.K. Prime. We did not have reservations and chose to sit at the bar and I'm so glad we did. Our bartender Chris was not only friendly but conversational and full of recommendations. He was knowledgeable about bourbons which we appreciated and I went with the veal - BEST VEAL EVER. I would even venture to say a Top 10 meal... very good. I appreciated mood and ambiance and the velvet seating was pleasing to my texture sensibilities. I tried the prime rib and it was absolutely cooked to perfection- mashed potatoes were seasoned perfect and the asparagus was very generous in portion and delicious. The dessert was a great ending and if you like crème brûlée don't sleep on this one. The price of the meal fit the level of service and quality received. We were at O.A.K. Monday evening for the first time since the re-branding. Started with wild mushroom bruschetta which was different and very good. My wife had the Burgundy Burger (a menu holdover and fav for her) and I had the fish feature, Tilefish over parm risotto topped with lobster meat and corn in cream sauce. Excellent.
