This cafe was so cute and unique! We came here on our way out of town and I am so glad we did. As you may be able to tell by the name, it is a horoscope themed cafe. About half of us opted for the buffet, and it was really excellent as far as buffets go. I'm so glad we chose this option, it was $12 with many options and the food was great. I was starving so this really was the move. This cafe had a lot of charm, down to the hand painted horoscope themed tables and the chef herself coming out to check on the buffet and to check on our big group.I especially loved the home fries and the sausage gravy was awesome too. I don't eat grits, but my friends said these grits were great! This unique spot is also connected to an independent bookstore with a pet cat! There's not a ton of parking, but there is some. I found this little place after attending a graduation in the area. Street and reserved parking, attached to a super cute bookstore. Menu has lots of fresh and yummy foods, something for every picky taste bud. Although I only had coffee and dessert I would've had more of there hadn't been a wait 40mins before you get your food warning. Though I appreciate the warning, that cancelled lunch for my schedule. I heard about Cafe Aquarius from some coworkers, and we all decided to check it out. First and foremost, the staff are extremely polite and professional. They are certainly running a great health conscious restaurant over here in 'Da Parish'. As a group, we ordered the Reuben Sandwich, Chili Salmon Protein Bowl, Stuffed Muffaletta, and Whole30 Friday Special which consisted of a Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wrap. All great stuff! The Salmon Bowl comes topped with a sweet chili glaze, on top of a bed of quinoa, iceberg, and romain mix. The dish was great, but I always have a qualm with iceberg lettuce. It's cheap, browns easily, and has poor flavor. As an improvement, I recommend Baby Spinach as a substitute in the Salmon Bowl. read more

It's hard to find a place that both a vegan and an omnivore can dine in perfect harmony. Generally, at least one person has to make concessions for the other, and unfortunately for my meat eating boyfriend that's usually him. Ok, it's always him. Pretty much every time. When I heard whispering of a vegan friendly place in Chalmette I honestly didn't believe it. We decided to give Cafe Aquarius a shot though and I'm so glad we did since it's probably one of my most favorite places to eat lunch at, AND the owner and all of the staff are the nicest people in the world! The have multiple vegan friendly wraps and salads, but I can only tell you about the buffalo cauliflower wrap since that is what I order literally every single time. I've never even tried anything else, but I don't need to. This thing is amazing, delicious seasoned cauliflower, swimming in a spicy buffalo sauce, with homemade "blue cheese" crumbles. It's spectacular. I'd like to try the Asian cauliflower wrap and southern fried tofu wrap as well, but I need to eat this one about 100 more times first before I get tired of it. For my non vegan leaning friends, my boyfriend raves about their burger and chicken & waffles. Be adventurous though! Try the buffalo cauliflower wrap!
