I just tried this place for the first time. I always thought it was a coffee shop, but when looking up veggie sandwiches on yelp this place came up. We literally live around the corner for the last five years and never knew this place served food. We ordered the Benjamin button sandwich and that jazzy sandwich. The Benjamin button sandwich was good but needed salt. but the jazzy sandwich was a portobello mushroom sandwich with fresh sliced jalapeños and pickled peppers, with a pesto mayo. And they grill it. Not a coffee shop! I was in Manteca for a few hours and wanted a place to sit and read while enjoying a cup of coffee. I'm trying to stay away from chain coffee shops so I did a quick Google Maps search and saw this place. I was very disappointed as it's a very small sandwich shop. We had to stop here because the local tennis tournament was rained out and boy are we glad that we did. My son has food allergies so it really makes finding a good place to eat difficult. But this place was able to cater a sandwich for him after looking at all the ingredients and it was very good. The coffee was excellent too. First time here and I have to say I enjoyed this place. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Herb Chicken Torta (I think that's what it was called) and a Thai tea blended. The cashier who I learned to be the owner let us know that this drink would taste different from authentic Thai tea. We kept the order anyway but I was a little worried while waiting for it. It was actually really good! I've had my fair share of Thai tea, and while this was obviously different, it was still tasty. Tastes sorta like caramel? Regarding the sandwich, I have no idea what I was expecting but it didn't taste like I thought it would. BUT it's not necessarily a bad thing. I ended up liking it because it tastes like pizza. It really does. My boyfriend agrees. Overall, I give the food & drink 4/5 but I give the place a 5/5 for its service. The owner is super sweet and friendly. OK this is the second time this is happened to me and now I am going to go and head and make a review. I love the food there. The man in that I guess owns it and the younger man that helps out are great. There is one girl there that seems to have the most shittiest attitude and has no customer service whatsoever, I asked two times because I had made some special instructions and she said yeah that's your sandwich and I said again I'm asking did it have the extra onions and extra mayonnaise like I was asked to have on there and also I paid extra for and she said yeah yeah yeah she did the same thing to me last time but last time I had my service dog and she asked me to wait outside because I did not have a jacket which that's fine but the way that she approaches customers she needs to learn how to talk to customers a little bit more nicer. I understand there's only three of you and you had a restaurant full of people or a café full of people then you need to stop taking orders take care of the customers that are in front of you and then go on with your day. Don't be short with me because you can't handle the rush and that's literally what happens because the two men that work there are great but she's the one that always is so aggressive and I didn't wanna make this because I love going there now. Ended up throwing 90% of the drink away... Mocha frappucino- tastes like drip coffee, not espresso. Lettuce and tomato were added for some reason. The pesto flavor is good in the mayo. But there was enough mayo for 3 sandwiches. And the egg could hardly be found. Super friendly customer service! The Chinese BBQ pork sandwich is delicious! The meat is tender, and flavorful. The veggies are fresh and crunchy, and the bread is soft and fresh also! So good!!!!! I also got an iced white chocolate mocha...not my favorite but not because they didn't make it good, I think my stomach just wasn't handling the sweetness or the espresso well. I got a turkey and bacon sandwich, bacon was nice a crispy, mayo-pesto was on point, bread was nice and soft. My boyfriend got the turkey torta, which he said he loved. But what really made us super happy was the strawberry/mixed berry smoothie I got and the cookies and cream boba drink he got. They were both excellent. Went here for the first time today. We were promptly greeted by the owner who is very nice. Went in expecting to just get boba but saw all the sandwich selections and had to try one. My co worker got the Yosemite sandwich and coconut boba and I got the Italian torta and avocado boba . Decided to eat there and enjoy our lunch break. Took about 8-10 minutes and our beautiful sandwiches and our boba was delivered. My sandwich was amazing! The bread toasted to perfection and the flavors are amazing. I'm already craving for another. My coworker said her sandwich was also amazing! They do not skimp on meat or any other fillings. The boba was great too! Not too sweet like a lot of other places and the boba was cooked correctly. I probably would have been content eating half of my sandwich but it tasted so good I ate the whole thing. We tried this place out on a whim to find a boba spot near work and we will definitely be returning soon! 5 stars for food and service! read more
