Wow!!! The restaurant came highly recommended. We were in the area so we figured we would stop in. I got the chicken Fajita dish, and shocked to realize it was better than most Mexican restaurants version of the Fajita. My friends and I ordered take out on a Saturday night. Everything was delivered about an hour and a half later due to the driver making another stop on the way. Fortunately the food wasn't too cold by the time it arrived. However, a pupusa con queso y loroco and a double order of chicken was missing from our order. We shared the single pupusas revuelta which was greasy but still good. Wished I got the one I ordered though as I assume it may have been less oily. My friends ordered their salads with chicken as a choice for protein since that is their go-to. I tried their steak fajitas since I wanted something with a lot of vegetables. The whole plate was cleared by the end of the meal, so I was definitely happy with my choice. If I could give this place a zero for their service I would! The taste of the food is a 5-star. But we waited 57 minutes for 3 Pupusas and the restaurant was not full, We didn't order any heavy entrees. The owner of the restaurant and her son sat at the bar for the two hours we were there, while the only waitress was so busy, that she was running back and forth while the window from the kitchen was full of food and her boss sat at the bar while people waited to pick up take-out and food got cold at the window. The owner doesn't need to make money, nor does she feel the need to good customer service, therefore I'm not giving her my $$$ there are plenty of restaurants that make great food and service is great!!! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants because of their very good pupusas and everything on th menu is so good and so well done it feels like it's home. I recommend if you don't know Spanish to bring along a friend who might know it. The service is amazing, all the people are nice an lovely there. On the ceiling there is little flags of El Salvador and it honestly so adorable and the lighting there is so dim and cozy and they have a fridge that has some cake inside like Tres leches, very good amazing cake honestly. One of the best pupusa spots in the area for Boston. I always go for the cheese and zucchini and some homemade juice from El Salvador known as Chan. If you don't care about service, come here. The food is great. But the waitresses have absolutely no manners and eat while they are working so keep your eye out for that. Also, very small and cold in there. It's so unfortunate that the service for this place is so bad because the food is great, me and my friend went to eat and we waited 15 minutes just to get service when there was only 2 other tables. once we received our food we never got checked on again by the server. to get to go boxes we had to get up and ask her to get the check aswell. We asked for separate checks and when I got my check I saw a 18% gratuity added then I checked my friends checks and she had no gratuity on hers added I find that absolutely ridiculous. This WAS normally my Go-to spot for Pupusas Revueltas... But, the food got Over-priced, they take their sweet-ass time for food-preparation and they have a mayor attitude problem. This is normally my go-to spot for burritos and pupusas ! However after visiting yesterday I don't think I'll be coming back. We ordered 3 burro grandes, we specified that one of them has to be made with no cheese at all due to a dairy allergy. They even wrote " no queso" on the container , but it was absolutely covered with cheese and had cheese inside of it too. We drove all the way from Braintree to revere just to pick these up and didn't realize that it was smothered with cheese until we got home. They have the best pupusas in New England. Everything here is made from scratch and you can taste the freshness in the food here. My favorite are the pupusas revueltas which are the pork, beans, and cheese. The loroco pupusas are also really good, the herb gives the pupusas a pleasant and aromatic taste to the pupusas. This is my favorite place to order pupusas from. They are the closest to the pupusas you can buy in El Salvador. I would give this place 5 stars based on the pupusas alone but certain things need to be improved. The biggest issue here is that the service can be a hit or miss. One of the waitresess seems to be in an unhappy mood most of the time. The wait for food is long, but that may be a good thing as it can indicate that their pupusas arent frozen and made to order. We're staying in Revere for the night before we catch our flight back home to Seattle. I didn't know where to go, so I wandered around the main strip until I passed by Cafe Costa Del Sol, which turned out to be an awesome choice as I LOVE pupusas. The staff were extremely kind and helped me order just the right amount of pupusas to feed my family. The community that surrounds this place were equally as friendly and put me at ease as I waited. Bring cash. And the paper kind. They won't accept dollar coins because they see them as "train tokens" and the bank won't "accept them". They easily can give them back as change. It was only $5. The only reason we were given a hard time is because we had brought in two Arizona ice teas that were already on our person and half empty. We decided not to buy a drink to avoid food waste. Great spot if you want authentic el salvadorian food. My girlfriend and I were looking some comfort food in Revere, ma. This really hit the spot. When we first entered the restaurant, there was no one to greet us. So we walked up to the bar and waited for someone to help us with our seating. It took about 90 seconds before someone greeted us. I ordered a combo 3 which was chicken and shrimp also with refried beans and spainsh rice. They will serve you a plate of cabbage with special sauce and tortilla chips before your meal. My girl ordered a cucusa with rice and beans. She also tried a Spanish soda that was very very sweet. That's not my thing. There are some perks with this cool place. This place has, by far, the BEST pupusas I've ever eaten! They give you unlimited slaw with the pupusas and their habenero sauce is deliciously spicy! Their beef tongue tacos are pretty good too. Portions are nice, people are friendly, atmosphere is relaxed, price isn't too bad (I go for the pupusas and tacos), and the jukebox is always playing great Latin music. I love that it has a family owned feel to it and the Salvadorian decor makes the food taste that much better! I try to go every month or so. The staff is always friendly and sweet. Saturday before beers and sports viewing, me and a friend decided to give it a go. We called to pick up. 2 burritos were ordered for pickup. Good service over the phone. We picked up the burritos and they were delicious. We open the burritos and saw: Guac Sour cream Chips with salsa And a big burrito Very fresh ingredients. The beef was crispy which means they prepared the beef for those specific burritos. I dont know about you but I don't like meat that has been sitting all day. Worst customer service ever!!! The cook is the biggest asshole you will ever meet. I came to this place because of the 5 star rating, but boy was I wrong. If I could give this place a negative 5 I would! I ordered some steak tacos and they were ok, but there was hardly and veggies (tomatoes, onions, cilantro) at all, none, nada... What kind of taco is that?! Smh anyway I wanted something to go so I specifically asked "Can I get grilled chicken with yellow rice and beans on the side" then the guy looks at me like "We don't have that on the menu" so I politely ask if he could make that, then after talking some blab blahhh he finally went and make it. 10 mins later my food came so I checked to see if he got it right. Well of course he didn't, now I find myself arguing with this guy because he was adamant that those were the beans I'd asked for.... I said politely (again) if he could give me whole beans as appose to refried beans and OMG this guy got so hot for no reason just because I asked for something else that he didn't want to do in the first place... So he snatched my food away from my table and walked back to the kitchen and told me to not pay for my Togo food. Not to mention it was over priced too (5 tacos and 1 pupusa) $24. I was glad to go next door to a better n more professional Mexican spot. Thank god that that happened, I would of been stuck with half a chicken breast and some pee rice and "beans." These are by far the best pupusas in the Greater Boston / North Shore areas. We've tried almost everywhere, and nothing compares, so we've been driving to Revere just to eat here for years now. You can dine in or order ahead and pick up. The best table is in the window on a raised platform. There's a parking lot behind the building, or metered parking on the street. The pupusas are made VERY fresh, not reheated. They offer more than just revueltas, beans, or de queso con loroco; you can choose zucchini or shrimp as well. They are never burned, never oily, never dry or crunchy like at other pupuserías. The outside is a light white cornmeal, and the insides are gooey and delicious and always served piping hot. They're just perfect. The curtido is crispy and tangy, not sopping with vinegar or over-fermented like some restaurants offer. It's more than just cabbage, they include cauliflower and carrot pieces, even occasional jalapeños. It's a nice mix and honestly, if they ever ran out of pupusas (God forbid!) I would still order the awesome curtido and try to imagine the world around me bravely going on. Chips and salsa are served while you wait for your order. Try a horchata or a licuado; if not, soda is served in a can/bottle with a glass, ice, and straw. Jarritos are available in a variety of flavors. This is a family atmosphere, and the tables fill up quickly. There are big screens in two corners that play music videos or Spanish language tv and sometimes soccer matches. If you have kids, don't hesitate to show up, everyone is very tolerant about fidgeting and noise and even occasional wandering. The walls are covered with beautiful souvenirs and maps of El Salvador so it can be very educational. The waitresses are great! They bring peppermints with the check and if you have a kid, they'll bring the kid a lollipop. read more
