They were all out of coffee and spumoni and only had a few flavors which they don't allow you sample. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to commit with flavors I'm not familiar with but it's unheard of to not sample flavors. read more

This was a nice find. The owner said he runs this gelato/coffee shop with his older brother. They get gelato shipped from Italy four times a week. The baker is from Sicily and lives in Monterey now. The affogato $10 was great. You could choose the ice cream flavor! The gelato was $7 per scoop and you can choose only one flavor. The shop has some seating inside, but it's not spacious. Parking in this area can be tough. There is free 2-hour street parking. Next door is a chocolate/candy shop. Fun to stop in after a meal. read more

Decided to swing by for a sweet treat after a lovely dinner around the area. I must say the location was a cute little shop that had a unique character. The dessert selection was marvelous, they had cake slices, gelato, cannoli, etc... I ended up having their raspberry gelato and wow was it perfect. It had a nice sweetness but light texture as you indulged. We also went ahead and tried a slice of their Chocolate Hazelnut cake. It was phenomenal and again the sweetness was perfectly balanced with the chocolate and hazelnut. The last item we ordered, a 3 piece order of mini donuts. A flavor of white chocolate, dark chocolate & milk chocolate. Overall, we spent about $30 so be aware the pricing is a bit high but totally worth the experience. This one is on me, but it circled the drain around price. I walked past this tiny shop on a warm day and saw "gelato" advertised. Given the weather, I ordered two scoops of gelato, which was scooped and served with a tiny wooden taster spoon. The price? FOURTEEN DOLLARS!! I have to be honest. I have made a good amount of ice cream over the years and enjoyed a lot of great gelato. I did not find this comparable to the best gelatos I have tasted and the price here far surpassed those. This tiny little place has big taste! I came for the cannoli. They fill them fresh with a choice of traditional shell or chocolate dipped. They also have smaller size, but who wants a tiny cannolo? They don't offer any toppings like crushed pistachios or candied lemon, so bring your own. I went for the traditional. The cookie was crisp with a slight cinnamon taste, just perfect. Nice filling too. This is going as my top local cannoli on my cannoli board. Service was a little slow, but that could have been due to the overwhelmed mother trying to get gelato for all her kids, without them smearing it all over everything. Once they left, a sigh of relief, and the line started moving again. They sell lots of gelato flavors and other desserts. I would have gotten some to go but had a concert to attend. I will definitely return for more and try the pistachio cake I was eyeing on my way out the door. Things are pricey, but hey it's Carmel: that's what you get. read more

Matcha was prefect, wasn't too sweet which is good because we could still taste the matcha As you come in you are greeted by a variety of beautiful cakes. It has very comfy seating and beautiful paintings hung up making the atmosphere of the place feel very welcoming ! Staff took care of us in short amount of time and provided great customer service. This cute little gelato shop is ran by a father and his two sons and it is just the cutest spot ever! I was craving something sweet and at around 7pm, this was this only spot that was open. This shop has a handful of baked good options and maybe about 10-12 gelato flavors. They had a really interesting one that was a mix of like pistachio, chocolate, and strawberry? I ended up getting the raspberry sorbetto, iced matcha latte, and their chocolate cannoli. The sorbetto was super refreshing and had a good raspberry flavor. The iced matcha was not my favorite, it was more on the bitter side and slightly grainy. The cannoli was really good! It's definitely more so on the sweeter side, but hey, that's dessert for you! What really stuck out was just how personable the owner was. He's definitely the kind of owner that makes you feel like family. read more

This small shop serves up big flavors in many kinds of desserts. We ordered a Napoleon, a Hazelnut chocolate cake, a cappuccino cake and a pistachio ricotta cake. They were each delicious! The creams are so fluffy and the cakes so light, each well flavored. While we didn't try the cannoli or gelato, they look really nice. We ate on rattan benches that line one wall of the shop. While there was a long line, it moved quickly. We certainly enjoyed this after a good day of walking! read more

We got their matcha lattes and they were very underwhelming. They allowed you to pick the sweetner. We got one vanilla and one lavender. Both matchas were very chalky and had no matcha flavor at all!! You could also see all the matcha chunks on the bottom of the cups. I wasn't sure I'd like it and it blew us both away. The flavors are amazing and not overly sweet and heavy like American cakes. It was recommended by one of the owners, lol. Stopped by this coffee shop today and while the guys behind the counter were genuinely nice, the drinks and gelato were a bit of a letdown. I ordered an iced matcha (not pictured) and unfortunately, it didn't taste like authentic matcha. It was missing that distinct earthy and slightly sweet flavor. My boyfriend got an iced coffee (also not pictured), which he found to be quite strong. We both requested vanilla flavoring in our drinks, but neither of them tasted like they had any sweetness added at all. We also decided to try a mix of their gelato. One was called a "spinoli," which was a combination of pistachio, chocolate, and strawberry. The other was a mix of vanilla with raspberry. Honestly, neither of these really wowed us, and I'm not sure I'd order them again. Sampling wasn't allowed here. They did have a selection of other desserts that looked interesting, so if I were to potentially give this place another try, it would likely be something from their baked goods instead of the drinks or gelato. Overall, the friendly service was a definite plus, but the quality of what we ordered today wasn't quite up to par. read more
