Food was good. Service was terrible. Coffee was cute but weak. Hard pass. For not being busy the wait staff barely came around. I dont the ovwr priced items if it come with service to back up the price. Not again.

Popped in on a Saturday AM, it wasn't too busy, made resy's on Fri afternoon. Checked in at the host stand & were seated shortly after. Outdoor and Indoor seating. Service was not the best, we couldn't get water refills. After asking our server (2x). Had to ask a random employee for our check. We noticed our server tending to other tables--but from seating to ordering got checked in on maybe once(when we asked for a refill--wasn't busy). Cinnamon Roll: (Off Menu item?) 5/5 bites, absolutely incredible, no words, well, wait- the texture was just what I want in a cinnamon Roll, crisp, soft moist, the carrot, the icing-YUM. We took the remainder to go after only having a few bites and let me tell you, we had some the Next day and it was still Great, even maintaining a slight crisp in the bun. Chilaquiles: 3/5 bites Red chilaquiles with chorizo, there wasn't really any chorizo in there, asked for salsa and it was ok. Nice space in Carmel, would return for the cinnamon roll but take it to-go. Just a tip: Parking can be tough in town so plan accordingly and make Reservations!

Looking for a spot in Carmel-by-the-Sea? Stationaery is a must-visit. We stopped by for breakfast and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. Tip.. don't try and get in early though :-) As for the food--it was excellent across the board. I ordered the Potato Pancake, which was perfectly crisp and flavorful. My wife went with the Breakfast Plate, a solid and delicious choice, and our friend tried the Ceviche, which was fresh and bright. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Highly recommend, perhaps a little Instagram trendy and a tad too much tourist tax but I couldn't fault the delivery or the content !.. Thank you ....

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! From the plethora of outdoor seating to the cute greenhouse in the center of it all, we can't wait to be back here again. This incredibly dog friendly restaurant had the best customer service we have received from a restaurant in Carmel in quite some time. We had originally planned to be by for breakfast, but opted for a quick coffee and pastry instead. This allowed us to enjoy brunch. On a Sunday morning they were packed, but we came towards the end of the breakfast rush and were seated immediately with our dog in tow. She ended up being the star of the show - more on that later. The hostess Maddie, was welcoming and efficient with all of the busyness around. We also met another woman and aren't sure if it was the owner or the manager, but she and our dog Stella became the greatest of friends. Every time she would walk by she would say hi. There were other dogs on the patio and they were all well behaved. The menu consisted of breakfast and brunch options, and even a small dog menu! We opted to share the breakfast plate with some extra eggs and fresh OJ. The eggs came scrambled with chives and were fluffy and not overcooked - they were perfection. The three slices of bacon were plentiful, and the star for me was the perfectly homemade biscuit and jam. We haven't been to Carmel in quite some time because it has become increasingly popular and at times difficult to walk around. This experience ignited something in us and we can't wait to be back. Throughout our service, our waitress was very attentive. She also gave the top recommendations of what to order when we first arrived.

Food was good. I enjoyed their breakfast plate and my husband enjoyed the short rib and eggs. He raved about his plate, mine was solid. Service was good, the hosts were very kind and personable. However they did forget the ticket for our coffees and we didn't get our drinks until we were done eating. It was pouring down rain as we were seated in the glasshouse and it was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, minus the forgotten drinks. I would've cancelled my drink order if I knew we wouldn't get it until the end.

This is a French restaurant and we have been trying to come here to try their " Dutch baby "pancake . It was sold out every time when we arrived at 9:30 am . This time we made the reservation for 8:30 am and ordered it as soon as we sat down . We got it ! The Dutch Baby looked very presentable and pretty . It was made out of passion fruit curb , white chocolate crumble and matcha for $28 . I loved how the little berries were on top with a tiny leaf . The passion fruit syrup and the chocolate crumble made it look like a little garden with a pond . It was so pretty . The food in here is farm to table so they are very fresh . However, we found a tiny bug moving around on the berry ( too fresh ) ! My family member removed the berry and did not complain. We appreciated that our waiter came over to ask if we needed help . We did not want to bother her cause they were so busy. The place is forever busy so reservation is a must . It is also hard to find parking in downtown Carmel . I would suggest that you come as early as possible for breakfast. Or come before 10:30 am if you like to get a parking spot without driving around . We also ordered their famous Cinnamon roll. It tasted good . We also had one order of bacon ( 3 big slides per order ) , two eggs ( cooked to perfection, over easy ) , toasted ( thick cut with butter . Good bread ) . Drinks : two matcha latte . One London fog hot tea . The Matcha syrup was too sweet for my liking . The dry lime peel and the tiny lilac flower on top were perfect . We enjoyed our breakfast here and will come back soon. Great service , good food , delicious and nicely presented.

I loved the bread, butter was tasty. Oysters were also really good. Our waiter was nice. Pasta was decent but not my fav

Reservation is recommended since it does get packed. Stationary is tucked in an alley way off of San Carlos St. We dined in for breakfast and were told the cinnamon rolls and potato pancakes sell out quickly so of course we ordered one of each. The cinnamon roll was light and not overly sweet. The lemon zest added a nice brightness to it. The potato pancake was crisp and complimented the smoked salmon well. I opted not to add avocado and kind of regretted it but the soft boiled egg was a good add on. Our server was very warm and delightful which made our meal even better. Such a great start to our day.

Stationary in Carmel was fine, but definitely overhyped for the price. The vanilla latte was genuinely delicious, smooth, not too sweet, and probably the best thing I ordered (easy 4.5/5). Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. I ordered the chilaquiles and 90% of the chips were extremely burnt and rock hard (pictured) and the other 10% pretty plain tasting. Honestly the worst chilaquiles I've had, which was a huge bummer. Food-wise, I'd give it a solid 2/5. My friends said their breakfast plate was decent, but we all agreed it wasn't worth the hype or prices. We did split a cinnamon roll and that was the highlight warm, comforting, and memorable. Giving it 3 stars mainly because the service was great. Everyone was super attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of. If you're coming just for coffee and a sweet treat, it might be worth a stop but for full breakfast, the value just isn't there for me.

    potato pancake (added egg)

IF YOU ARE HOPING TO GET POTATO PANCAKE OR CINNAMON ROLL: they usually sell out of both before 11:00am!!! potato pancake was okay not really sure of the hype, the peaches and cottage cheese with salmon was a bit of a weird combo for me. the cinnamon roll was worth the hype though. matcha was okay even though it was sweetened it wasn't as sweet as i normally go for. pretty pricey for matcha ($9). recommend: only cinnamon roll really! i'm sure their seasonal lattes are great i wish i got one instead of the matcha.

Was recommended this place by a friend and this place did not disappoint! Visiting Carmel and this is a gem you have to stop by. Cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. I got the potato pancake which came with salmon and my husband got the avocado toast and we got the Dutch baby as a shared item. Everything was delicious! We both voted that the potato pancake was the best out of the dishes we tried. Also perfect place for kids, excellent service and our waitress was friendly and great service. A must stop when visiting Carmel.

we came here for breakfast and were let down. Mind you we did order a very simple and plain option but it was not great. We spent about $100 on this meal and did not find it appetizing unfortunately.

    Itxel G.

I typically love this place! Have recommended it online via social media and on here, but really disappointed with the portions today. I never complain about prices because you get what you pay for, but I think this time for a $48 lobster roll I was ripped off. I look back at other visits and the stuffing of this roll was substantially less today. :( Environment is great, met other locals which is fun. Service was good so I give it 3/5, but the main reason I come is for the food, the rest are just perks.

Parker (the owner) is the real deal--passionate, witty, sometimes sarcastic, and genuinely fun. The cozy bar is surrounded by ever-changing photos, art, and laugh-out-loud signage. Stories live here: wall to wall, corner to corner, and everywhere in between. Locals and travelers exchange stories, play dice or cards. The drinks are beautifully basic--three ingredients, one of them ice. No fancy nonsense--just premium pours, neat or on the rocks. *And now the gut punch: they're being forced to close the same month they're celebrating their 100-year anniversary. The new building owners don't seem to care about the character and legacy of Carmel, the devotion of a fourth-generation owner, or what it means to lose a place that's thrived for a century. The fish and chips is the ultimate meal. The burger was savory, soft and creamy just he right amount. It perfectly paired with the Talbott pinot noir they recommended. The only comment is make is the amount of French fries that were served with the burger. The plate was a lot larger looking because a sparse amount of fries was served alongside. Maybe add a little more next time just to balance it off. The servers/bartenders knew their stuff. They provided what they could in terms of what was popular and well liked. They said both items we ordered were the most popular. The fish and chips have won best fish and chips 3 years in a row. I would agree with this since I usually am not wowed with this dish. Nothing catastrophic happened, but it felt like we were inconveniencing staff rather than being welcomed. We experienced multiple instances where basic hospitality was lacking. At meals, we often had to ask for water, request the check, and follow up on things that should have been proactive. One evening we came downstairs for dinner around 8:25 PM and were told the kitchen stopped taking orders 30 minutes before the restaurant closed. While that's certainly their policy, it wasn't communicated beforehand and the interaction felt more dismissive than apologetic. There were several small moments like this throughout our stay. Individually they may seem minor, but together they created an atmosphere that felt awkward, rushed, and inattentive. Given Carmel's reputation for hospitality and the price point of the hotel, we expected a much warmer and more polished experience. The inn itself has a lot of charm, and we enjoyed the area, but the level of service simply didn't match the setting or our expectations.
