I had no idea they were making it today, but I ended up being the first customer to grab one. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The seasoning was incredible, and the way the breading clung to that cutlet was next level. You can tell this was homemade because getting a crust that crispy and light isn't something you just throw together. Wow wow wow. I have been dying to try Frankie and Wally's and I loved it so much when I popped in for the first time that I went two days in a row. It's that good. First of all - I love the team member who welcomes you when you walk in - OG - he is so funny and friendly! This is a curated grocery shop and also sandwich spot which is beautifully decorated and super welcoming. When you order, there are two lines - one for coffee /tea and food and one for just food. I hit up the coffee line both days because a girl needs caffeine. I love my oat milk lattes. On my first visit I got the bacon egg and cheese - divine! The most buttery pressed croissant and perfect balance of sweet and savory with the tomato jam and crispy bacon. The next day, I opted for Il Padrino - their version of an Italian. Damn. This was massive and great. So I am going to talk about the price - this sandwich was not cheap, it was $25. However - it is huge, and you can definitely split it so in girl math that's $12.50 - a win in my book. I ate some there and had the rest as my second meal later. Also - one of the things you can tell about these sandwiches are that the quality of the ingredients in them are superior to your regular deli sub. I had been wanting to try these sandwiches for a long time and apparently you have to get there early because I couldn't even try the chopped cheese or the strami which are two of the most popular ones. Out of the four options left I opted for the "Oh Honey" with turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, arugula, tomato, mayo, honey mustard, salt, pepper and olive oil. It wasn't what I went there for but still a solid delicious sandwich. They're not skimping on portions at all. The honey mustard it's the cherry on top. My hubs and I popped in for lunch one afternoon, and even though the place was packed, the vibes were immaculate. I ended up picking out sourdough rotini to try at home. For coffee i had a regular iced latte with oat milk. The quality of the latte was very good. The tuna sandwich is okay. The bread is tasty and fresh, but the tuna tastes pretty fishy. It needs more mayo and more seasoning. You absolutely need to try their chocolate chip cookie! The adjacent parking lot can not be used you have to pay at street meter, no cash payments for food, small amount of seating inside. I had been waiting with bated breath for what seemed like an eternity for them to open so could not have been happier when they did. Popped in recently for a coffee & a quick bite. First impression? Not a fan of the 2 separate lines: one to order food & one to order coffee. Totally unnecessary & caused quite a bottle-neck right at the entrance. Anyways, placed my order(s) to eat in then sat down to wait for what seemed like an eternity. The space IS adorable. Very "instagramable" & lots of things to look at while you wait (& wait). When they finally called my name, they had accidentally packed it to go. Didn't have the heart (or the patience) to let her know, so I just took my to-go bag & walked home. Coffee was ok. Sandwich was decent but was missing something. Maybe the onion jam was too sweet along with the roll? Maybe the egg needed more salt & pepper? In any case, good quality & definitely plan to be back since they only recently opened & may just be experiencing some growing pains. read more

A few too many dressings for my taste. But it was good. The bread looks better than it is. It looks crispy on the outside. It's not. But it's not the same soft bread most miami sub shops use. It's better. It's Just not an Italian bread feel. Prices are crazy. $17 for a tuna fish one. $20-25 for a meat hero. Big enough to share. Over priced restaurants usually don't last in Coral Gables. Very cute new sandwich shop on Palermo near Ponce where the availability of parking is not good. We like to try new restaurants in the Downtown Coral Gables area. We ordered the signature Frankie sandwich to split given the size of the bread. Looked good, tasted good but immediately reminded us of a less than basic sub, with no add on's like olives, pickles, peppers, salt, pepper, oregano, oil or vinegar. A pretty basic "ham and cheese with lettuce and tomato for $20.00 vs a fully loaded Subway sandwich for $10.99. That "Frankie" needs some personality. Sitting outside was great today with the temperature 75°. In the summer,unfortunately, not so much. We were excited about our visit today but we were underwhelmed. The restaurant was the nicest looking sandwich shop I've ever been in and no one has been in more than I have, well few people anyway. I was in the area with my mom because we wanted to go to the Venetian pool. Unfortunately we got turned away due to capacity. We both looked at the menu and both had said the menu seemed small but with a lot of great options!! The Wally caught my attention and the tuna caught my mom attention as well. We ordered and made our way to sit outside. I will say the outdoor patio was covered with multiple a/c vents blowing air all around. So it wasn't so bad. We waited for our sandwiches maybe... about 10 minutes? Our sandwiches were delivered to our table by the same gentleman that greeted us. He's a very nice man and was very friendly and had a big smile and was very attentive he brought over napkins for me and mom. The sandwiches were phenomenal!! I've always been so used to deli meat to be very salty afterwards and would drink a gallon of water lol. but OMG this turkey was perfect. It was light, airy, and fresh! Along with the ingredients put together. My mom enjoyed her tuna as well and said that was one of the freshest tuna she had. I will be coming back at some point with friends. They receive limited quantities of fresh bread baked daily and delivered each morning before opening from a local fifth-generation French bakery, and they use all-natural, high-quality ingredients sourced from local farms and vendors. They also make a delicious ready-to-bake lasagna, fresh homemade tuna salad, and overnight oats all in-house but the real winner is their chocolate chip cookie. Because of the high demand, items often sell out quickly, so I recommend getting there early, waiting in line, and enjoying your meal with a coffee outside on their lovely patio. Even the care the whole team puts into each day from neatly stocking the shelves to the attention their baristas give every drink is impressive. There's clearly so much hard work happening behind the scenes. The quality and the service is like no other!! Happy to have them in my neighborhood. We went to have breakfast with my family and we all truly enjoyed the experience. First of all it is a very expensive sandwich. In my opinion it is not worth the price however, everybody seems to be charging a lot for simple ingredients these days. Also they seem to run out of ingredients all of the time and are only open 4 days per week. They also never answer their phone and you can't order through Uber eats or doordash. You actually have to go to the restaurant and park and then find out that they are out of most of their sandwiches. Very annoying.
