Cafe Diva was very impressive! The service was probably the best I have probably ever had - Casey went above and beyond, even taking us outside to take a family photo. We ended up splitting some soups (get the tomato crab), the beet salad, and the Market Fish (salmon) on a bed of cous cous and red cabbage. It was very nice that they split all the dishes for us. The crème brûlée was typical of what I get at "fancy" restaurants, and also very delicious. We also got a delicious wine recommended by the sommelier, which was a nice additional service. read more

4 stars for the food, deductions for service We got the $95 off season special which was nice. They advertise it on their website but you must request it or they won't offer it. Small restaurant that has been around since the 1990s. My partner enjoyed his sommeliers choice wine Complementary bread (2 small pieces) with olive oil and olives. Pretty good Tomato and crab bisque (shared) was super rich creamy and delicious The duck breast was meh for me. Meat was fine but the rest of it all together was off The venison short loin (red elk) was amazing. It was cooked perfectly- rare to medium rare. Mashed potatoes were good. Asparagus was just ok Crème brûlée was also super delicious. The vanilla bean inside was great We were ready to come back on our last night to order the venison again before we drove back home 3 hours bc the food was so good My biggest complaint and why I dropped two stars were the services. the server was super nice and attentive at the start. But once we finished the entree, he spent most of the time chatting with the table across from us. We heard the whole convo as we were waiting for him to remove our plates and bring us the dessert menu. It was 8pm and he only had two tables left: Our table and the other table. He chatted with the other table about furbo and ring cameras for their pets for a very long time. Maybe ten minutes later he took our plate and said he'd bring the dessert menu. Then he brought them wine , chatted with them for a bit about growing up in steamboat and the neighbors and then he eventually brought our dessert menu. Then while we were eating dessert, chatted with them for another good 20 minutes without even looking at us. We just wanted the check but my partner didn't want to be rude and interrupt him. By 9pm we got tired of waiting and we got up, put our coats on and walked to the front to try to pay at the front. That's when he came over. No apology, just said oh you want to pay? Charged our card and gave us the receipt to sign. We noticed he over charged us. He was already back chatting with the other couple and my partner didn't want to interrupt him so then I went to go ask another employee for help which then got the servers attention and he came over. Then we waited like 10 minutes until he was able to refund and recharge the correct amount. We had just driven 3 hours after having a medical emergency all morning and almost cancelled our trip. We had an absolutely heart wrenching day with the news we received from the doctor. But we decided to move forward with the trip and just have a nice dinner as we recovered for our first night. So while the food was good, this was not a pleasant ending to our already terrifying day. Pay attention to ALL of your customers! Not just the ones who are clearly wealthy and keep ordering more glasses of wine. I am updating the review 06/09 because in the end, the restaurant made it right. read more

Had the most amazing time here! Was so good I went back twice on my recent trip to Steamboat. It's a must-visit cozy and sophisticated spot with the most unique delicious menu with some of the most welcoming considerate staff. The chef did such a great job crafting this menu which changes with the seasons. The ingredients and flavors were phenomenal. A real shout out to the entire staff who make you feel so comfortable and celebratory I can't recommend it enough and hopefully will come back again soon next time I'm visiting the area! read more

Definitely a spot to try if you're looking for a nicer dinner in Steamboat Springs. Intimate ambiance. We tried most of the starters and a few entrees. Must the food was top notch. My favorites were probably the chickpea falafel, peanut butter sandwich, and the arugula salad. Mushroom empanadas and duck confit were also pretty good. The cacio e pepe was good, but much more complex than the usual simple cacio e pepe. I'm not a big fan of lamb but my friends all said it was really good. Definitely a place to consider if your in the area and looking for good food with a more date night like ambiance. read more

BEST. MEAL. OF. MY. LIFE. My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and I had so many recommendations for food coming here but one that I always saw was cafe diva. The first night we were here we went to E3 Chophouse which was great but the second night we came here and it was phenomenal! I wish we had more nights here just to keep coming back. The service was absolutely outstanding and the restaurant was so nice and small which I loved! We did the diva dinner for 2($90) with the fall menu! We shared the max and cheese spaghetti squash, I had the beef tenderloin and my husband got the Oaxaca chicken. For dessert we shared the caramel apple cake! I have absolutely no critics or complaints. It was pure perfection. I was SO upset to finish my beef tenderloin, and my husband basically licked his plate clean. We stayed at Sheraton Steamboat and the concierge highly recommended this restaurant. We barely got a reservation for four and the staff are the only one deserving the three stars. The restaurant is dark at certain areas and decor is pleasant. I would have preferred sitting at the tables instead of the little corner all the way inside. Appetizers were decent taste . Soups were our favorite. For the entrees- Pork was overcooked, Steak was not very tasty. The sauces were supposed to be complementing the dishes but quite the opposite effect. It ended up over $100 per person and we only ordered three drinks , two appetizers and three entrees. Maybe others like the high end feel of the restaurant when we are all in ski gear and not evening attires. Again the staff were superb read more

We tried a few of the cocktails... all great... can't really put one ahead of the other... Now for the food... chef Kate knows how to make a meal... the food is bite for bite mouth watering and perfect.... everything was perfect... the surf and turf made me say OMG like 7 times and my gf had the catch of the day i believe it was Monterey Bay bass over some amazing rice cake and a curry sauce that was all perfect I almost forgot about the PBJ pork belly with Thai peanut sauce... might be the best apps on the planet... I'll stop there and just let you order it Everything was soooooo amazing that we came back 2 days later for the 4pm fondue... ai highly recommend you do that... it's a perfect was to end a day of skiing or fill up before night skiing... A MUST GO! This fine restaurant was the best meal we had in Steamboat and that's saying a lot because there are so many great restaurants! The food was phenomenal,an excellent wine list, and service was above and beyond. The chef knows what she's doing here! The attention to detail by all the staff was five stars. We had the PB&J appetizer, and it was interestingly delicious. We had the scallops, tenderloin, and fettuccine dishes in our group, and we couldn't stop trying each others dishes. Casey was our waiter, and he was an awesome host. The sommelier was super helpful, too. We had the chunky monkey and the creme bruleee for dessert, and we couldn't decide which one was better. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this up the next day. It's so sad that I didn't get pics. We will definitely be back! read more

As far as fine dining experiences at ski resorts go, Diva holds its own to be sure. Not too big, not too small creates a nice joint where a proper conversation can be had and not overheard. Where the waitstaff, from the moment you arrive is as attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable as could be imagined. Almost made me think they were programmed robots as perfectly executed it all was... LOL Kidding of course, staff crushed it. House cocktails thoughtfully designed... the paper moon was subtle and yummy. The mushroom and Brussel sprout spring rolls flavorful and surprisingly lite. The pork belly peanut but bites are inspired, but a word to the chef...too many flavors confuses a palate. Going easier on the sauces and having more confidence in the flavor of your primary ingredients is something for you to ponder. The special Seabass lite and flakey. The lamb shank was fall Off the bone. But again while tasty this chef is trying a little too hard! The abundance of sauces over power things and fillers like the Gruyère Cauliflower purée can be tone down. Chef..less is more, let the love you put into the main ingredients shive thru, resist the need to overcompensate and you'll truly find 'it'. Lastly the Mexican Chocolate Mousse, yum. Still despite my nuanced feedback, Cafe Diva is a Steamboat standout. We will return. read more

This was our fourth time here. I'm quickly realizing that this is one of my favorite restaurants I've eaten at in the world. Amazing, creative and fresh food. Fantastic, mostly unpretentious service, and nice intimate ambiance. After 4 visits over multiple years/seasons I've really come to appreciate how seasonal the menus are and yet how consistently they deliver - time and time again. We visited right after they opened from the Coronavirus lockdown and we were really impressed with how seriously they were taking the situation. They managed to keep the same amazing service while still minimizing contact and really emphasizing safety. I hesitate to mention the word "value" when the restaurant is easily $100 per person without alcohol, but I've paid more for a lot less! We don't drink alcohol and i really appreciate that although they obviously have a focus on wine, I've never felt "judged" or uncomfortable not ordering alcohol. We usually order Arnold Palmers and the servers are amazing with the refills! Note to fellow diners - if you don't order alcohol at a restaurant that is obviously known for it, tip your server accordingly. Don't be that annoying person that only tips 15% when the server put more work serving you 4 Arnold Palmers for $5 as they would with a $100 bottle of wine. We wanted to get out of FL to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We love being out West and found ourself in Steamboat Springs, CO. In looking for someplace special to celebrate we found Cafe Diva. Wow! It made our 25th Wedding anniversary a night to remember. The food and service were both exceptional. Conner was our server and he did an amazing job of walking us though the menu, helping us with pairings and making suggestions along the way. For appetizers we started with the Asian Shrimp and Crab Balls chilled sesame-zoodle salad, miso crème fraiche and the Roasted Baby Beet Panzanella Salad arugula, pistachio brittle, whipped feta, grilled baguette, white balsamic vinaigrette. While the crab balls were very good, the Panzanella salad stole the appetizer show. The combination of flavors was amazing. For dinner I selected the Surf and Turf venison short loin with Cabernet veal demi-glace, diver scallops with chef's daily sauce, summer vegetables with almonds, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and Conner suggested a glass of the Smokescreen "Chemist", '17, Paso Robles, CA. It was a great match up. My wife ordered the Market Catch which was a steel head trout from Nova Scotia prepared in a sweet pea-mint-coconut milk broth, shiitake-three pea sauté, jasmine-black rice cake. Again Conner suggested a great wine paring for her with a glass of the Justin Giradin, '18 Bourgogne, FR. Even though we were full of delicious food already, we could not let the evening end without sharing a desert. After much debating (they all sounded amazing) we settled on the "S'Mores" chocolate dipped-graham cracker pound cake ice cream sandwiches, marshmallow gelato and sharing a full pour of the Noval 20 Year, Tawny Port from Portugal. The ambience is beautiful. The restaurant is on the smaller side making it super quaint and homey feeling. I ordered the seasonal ginger spritz cocktail and be prepared for the ginger! I ended up getting wine because I was not prepared ;). The red blend by the glass was super delicious though. We started with an arugula salad which was perfectly dressed! We loved every component in that dish. My friend got the wedge salad which had all the perfect fixin's. Next, we shared the Cacio e pepe that had asparagus and mushrooms. I'm not sure why -- and maybe I set myself up for failure but I was expecting much more of a cheesy/cream sauce flavor. I personally didn't really like it. Note: we shared this dish and still had leftovers. Pretty large portions! My friend got the venison and said it was super tender and cooked to perfection. The service was spot on too. I was so excited to come here for my work Christmas party. It was very expensive, about 850 for 6 people, and just didn't really impress me. I am thinking that we just had bad luck. I want to preface this with the fact that my expectations were set VERY high. First of all, they did not take our coats at the door, so we were left draping our bluky coats over our chairs, and they were touching the floor. They did take other guests' coats but not ours. Even after seeing us sitting on our coats, we were never offered to have them hung up. One of our party members was looking at the solitary drink menu, and before he even passed it to the next person, our waitress asked us 3 times if we knew what we wanted to drink. Like how am I supposed to know what I want to drink without being able to look at the menu? At no point did she offer another menu. We eventually borrowed menus off of surrounding tables so we could figure out our drinks. The drink menu had 5 cocktails. Five. When we finally all got a chance to see the menu and ordered drinks, they came and were great. The flavors were fantastic. The glasses in which the drinks came in not so much. They seemed like an Amazon prime special. Apatizers were phenomenal; the peanut butter bacon sandwich was my favorite item all night. Everyone seemed pleased with their entree. I, however, ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare and found my meat overcooked and the creamed spinach very salty. If I were not with a group, I would have sent it back. All of the deserts were superb. Unfortunately I would not come here again for the price we paid. read more

I have to admit that I didn't love the PB&B like I did the first time I had it, and it seemed a bit noisier (though the vibe was probably more fun!), but everything else was divine. Fabulous service from top to toe, exquisite cuisine, and great cocktails. Really, you can't go wrong...and you pay for it.
