I'm going to make a lot of people mad with this review because of how loved this place is but i was not impressed. A tourist spot for sure, with a ridiculous wait time, they only accept cash and have a very limited menu. Now the menu doesn't bother me because i was really only here for the beignets and while they were not bad they were not very remarkable, and honestly i've had better outside of new orleans. I don't recommend coming here to actually enjoy anything and the staff is rushing you out the minute you sit down because of the wait time. I think you're better off finding better beignets elsewhere in new orleans, skip this tourist trap. I will add that the prices are fairly cheap so that's nice. read more

Since I moved away, my girlfriend and I would make it our diligence to come to the Oakwood Center Mall in Gretna to check out their location every Christmas holiday. And just like the downtown location, this one does not disappoint. As soon as we got seated, our orders came out. We both ordered beignets and frozen coffee. The beignets were hot and the coffee.....not too sweet for me and well done. On my way out from the mall I stopped to pick up some coffee and beignet to go. The cashier was an older lady who was checking out customers. I was second in line of another customer who was being ring up. One of the younger staff was rushing the cashier to hurry up to take my order but I was not in a rush. The younger staff got another staff to ask me what I wanted and I gave them my order. The younger staff gave me my coffee but didn't even fill my two order of beignet to go. What really bothers me is the way the "younger" staff was treating the older cashier. I was disgusted of the way one of them spoke to her. This one staff kept going on how the younger staff gets things done twice as faster then the cashier is ringing up customer. My goodness, there were only two customers in line and I was in no rush or anything. I really regret not making a comment about it to them. As the saying goes, the West Bank is the best bank, so it only makes sense that New Orleans would allow delicious beignets, from this signature restaurant, to get a location on the Westside. Coming to this location will cause you to lose the ability to stand outside, in a long line, in the elements to get your beignets and coffee. You will lose the ability to listen to live music being performed by someone while you wait to get your delicious treats. One great thing that you will gain is steady air conditioned accommodations. You will have the option to peruse other stores while eating your beignets, in the air conditioning as well. Essentially, you have less congestion here and gain air conditioning by going to this location. Each location is going to have massive amounts of people and shopping available. This location is located inside Oakwood Mall, so you will have cheaper food options available to you as well. Definitely stop by here and get your beignet fix on! I'm giving this Cafe Du Monde 4 stars, for the main reason that it's convenient for me. It's a Cafe Du Monde just like any other. You're gonna get cafe au lait and beignets. When I go to this one, I usually just get a frozen cafe au lait, which is just fabulous! This location is in the mall, so it's never packed. It's a simple menu and it's consistently delicious. Cafe au lait with sugary poofs of dough.

We were craving for delicious beignets and hot chocolate in the morning and didn't want to drive to the actual place so opted go to this stand in the mall. This place is closer to us before heading out for the day. This stand is located in the mall so you can go shopping after getting the beignets or whatever. The stand is by the fountain which is a nice view to see and eat there. We got here and there was no line at all. We got ordered and got our items quick and fresh. They have souvenirs for you if you want to buy some gifts. The beignets were delicious as always and the hot chocolate was good. The services was good and friendly. This place take cash and cards. The parking wasn't bad at all since it the mall. I will be back here again if I'm in town. read more

The employees don't seem as happy to be working here but your orders are prepared quickly and you're on your way in less than a minute with delicious coffee and beignets. Besides downtown in the French quarter, this is the place I love to get my beignet fix! It's usually a hit for me but sometimes they miss the dot. Like any other place it's made right in front of you but I've always gotten a hot order of beignets. I come here with my mom every time we're out shopping in the mall. It's an affordable indulgence and to spend some quality time with a loved one. You can eat beignets, drink their yummy Cafe Au Lait, and talk your problems away. I got the chance to go with both my parents yesterday after brunch. It was just like old times except my little brother was missing. My mom always says this is the only place she can truly enjoy her order of beignets. She complains the one out in Lakeside mall is too doughy, while the one in Oakwood is light and fluffy. You're not nauseated with too much dough in the middle of it. If you ever get a to go order, make sure to ask for the powdered sugar in a separate bag. That way when you want to eat it later you can reheat the beignet by it's self and pour as much sugar over it as possible. Horrible customer service. Similar to a previous review, I also stood there for awhile waiting to be acknowledge so I can order some beignets for my kids who were waiting. There were employees by the register, one cooking, and one standing there to take orders. The one who was suppose to be taking orders didn't bother to look up and the ones standing around didn't bother to tell her. Finally I had to ask her if she can take my order. She didn't apologize and she was rude. I asked if she saw me standing there and she answer rudely so I just left. Called the store and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said she was standing by the counter. So you're the manager but you're standing around joking with the employees and ignoring the customers? Horrible experience. Came here for beignets, Cafe Du Monde beignets are OK if you never tried beignets from Morning Call Cafe. The cafe au lait was good, the beignets were freshly made but too doughy compared to Morning Call's. This place is OK to go to, better than no beignets. This would be my second visit to Cafe Du Monde and I was not disappointed. Sure it was a little dirty, but what do you expect when the place is open all the freaking time and you top off those delicious beignets with obscene amounts of powdered sugar. The beignets were excellent and the service was quick. One thing that was a little lacking was that our server was so busy that he got my husband's coffee ordered. We both ordered a frozen cafe ole, but only mine came in frozen. He kept his regular coffee, but I think he would have enjoyed the frozen kind since the weather was post Isaac and everybody wanted something cold. Either way, I'll come back. read more
