Enroute to the airport to go home from a business trip, and had to stop at this iconic place. I loved the outdoor patio. It was a perfect setting to enjoy a hot cup of black coffee and beignets. Although my very first experience with beignets was at Disney World (French Quarter hotel), this was my second. These were a little too dense for my taste, but still worth a try. The coffee was so good- very unique. Don't cover it up with milk! The staff was great, very positive, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. When I arrived, it was not crowded, so I did not have to wait, at all, for service. If I'm back in town, I will probably go back. read more

We were running out of time to try all the places we wanted to go to -- so, instead of going to the one on Decatur (which always had a really long line when we were in the French Quarter), we stopped here when we happened to spot this location while shopping at the Esplanade Mall. They had just opened for the morning, so the beignets, chicory coffee and hot chocolate were hot, fresh and delicious -- just as we had expected them to be. It's awesome because this place is so close to the airport that tourists who weren't able to get into the French Quarter due to parking or lack of time can afford to stop by here on the way to the airport and pick up some world famous beignets or get some coffee and mix to go! read more

The Kenner location is so much more chill and low-key than the FQ location; that may be a disappointment for some people but it was refreshing for me. I love being able to bring out-of-town guests here without having to make the trek into the quarter and hunt for parking, then sit exposed to the elements and fuss with trying to order from a busy waiter while seated at a tiny table; here you go through the line and place your order and pay at the cash register. For a decent place to stop and hang out, I give it a 3 star. Not as good as the original obviously, but also not the best food out of all the other satellite shops. Food is below average most of the time. Since the traffic isn't very high, the beignets are sometimes cold. If you want something close to the original or a good second best...this isn't it. Love beignet and chicory coffee, had it every day while in NOLA and on the day we left rather than go back to the French quarter we went to this Café Du Monde on the way out of town, easy to get to on Williams Boulevard. The staff was very sweet and helpful. You get a lot more powdered sugar in the French Quarter than you get at this one, though, though you can ask for more I'm sure. It also has a drive through. Nice place to come with your family for a nice and quiet late nite bite to eat. The service is great the food is delicious, it's like any other Cafe Du Monde but it's close to where I live which is great, plus it's located near a Taco Bell and a gas station and if that's not enough, right across the street is a coffee house. so of course on my first visit to nola, i have to try the world-renowned cafe du monde. we were unable time-wise to make it to the original, but i thought from the reviews here we would have just as good an experience at this location. i was wrong. my beignets were hard, cold, and flat. i ordered them and he literally went to the back counter, grabbed a plate they were already sitting on there, and covered them in a mountain of powdered sugar. i had never had them, so i picked one up, tore off a corner, ate it and asked my partner (who has been to the original place) "what's the big deal?" he took a bite and said, "wow. i guess we should have gone to the actual cafe du monde. this is NOT how they are supposed to be." just then, the couple that came in after us walked back to their table with a plate full of steaming, puffy beignets. so basically, they got actual fresh-made ones and i got ones that had been sitting for god knows how long. i suppose it is possible to get awesome beignets here, they just don't serve them to everyone. which is very disappointing because they have a name and tradition to uphold. might try the original next time i'm in town but would not come back here. i am not a person who disses a place for not having the best ambiance or if a server was having an off day, for me it is all about the food and this was a huge disappointment. read more

This location was very roomy and clean. Beignets were cooked just right and the cafe latte was delicious! The server was very helpful and had the biggest smile--definitely makes you feel welcomed.
