10 stars !!!!! Let me tell you-- I am a die hard Krispy Kreme fan!! However, the donuts at Tastee have outshined Krispy Kreme! I don't know what they make these with, or what the special recipe is, but when I tell you they are the best donut I have ever had!!!! Please do yourself a favor and grab one! However, I can assure you you will be back for more!!

This has always been my stop when I'm in the area. They know how to work a crowd and get orders out. The food is always fresh when I have visited. I love the donuts. It's a small place so dining is very limited but I'm always in and out which is perfect for me. I love Tastees every since I was introduced many years ago. So for order 718 you see I ordered a lasagna plate right, after waiting a while and everybody else in my group got they orders she say oh we outta lasagna what else you want. So I said let me just get the shrimp and crawfish pasta - I didn't ask for the shrimp cakes bc obviously that meal was higher than what I paid...she start telling me she can't give me that ... ma'am it's 4am WTH do you have available that's comparable to what I ordered. Ended up leaving upset because the meal I received was less than what I purchased and they didn't want to refund the difference so I asked for a few donuts to make up for it and her rude self only gave me 1...not even close but whatever. I would say I ain't going back but it's clutch 24 hours right off the exit whether I'm coming or going to Nola

Paying $14.99 for a wing plate is a little absurd but I must say you definitely got your moneys worth. I did a pickup order and they told me 15mins, and they were every bit of on time. The customer service was good. The lady that took my order was very helpful & knowledgeable. Not only did I receive this hug plate of wings and fries, I got a large drink and 1 free donut. The wings were delicious full of seasoning. They were hug, I was only able to eat 2 wings. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu

Our Uber driver recommended this to us on our 3:30am ride home! We were looking for a breakfast spot without having to go to downtown and this was perfect. The menu is HUGE and they are open 24hours. My mom loved her omelette & grits (they are not stingy with the bacon) The portion sizes were huge, and everything was cooked nicely. The ladies at the counter were helpful and quick. There is a lot of in and out, but it was a Monday in a working town so that's to be expected. They kept the line pushing!

Well...I was looking for an afternoon meal and this was right on time. I asked for the turkey wing plate & was told they were out...'But, we have turkey necks', she said. (Wait, I looove turkey necks!!). Anyway, got a turkey neck w/optional gravy, salad & mashed potatoes. This included a drink & donut all for less than $13. I started experiencing donut-choice overload because it was just too much!! Too many choices, oh my. So I said with uncertainty, "peanut?!!" So, the bread included was like nope, but potatoes, gravy & neck was A+ with a nice lil heat and the donut all by itself got the star bump!! Definitely a solid place to check out.

My friend highly recommended that I come here ti try the Yakamein while in town. The people were friendly, but I must have come on the wrong day food quality wise. The beef and shrimp yakamein was $14,99, but only came with 4 small pieces of beef and one shrimp. When I asked the lady at the front desk, she said that they are pre-filled and always had plenty of meat. That was unfortunately not the case for me. It also only came with half of an egg and not a whole egg, which kind of surprised me. I was so excited to visit, but left highly disappointed in the quality of food during my experience. I do want to give them another chance during the week, but I'm not sure it's worth the drive. My total came to around $20 for the yakamein and donut and there is ample free parking. The lady at the register was nice, however I wish she offered a solution on me being shorted on meat. read more

Delicious food, call order in to save time, meals come wit so much! The people are always kind. They have music and a gambling area for the Lady Luck chasers. The parking lot is in a strip mall so there is always parking. A nearby barber shop and dry cleaners so you can get clean and fed! read more

This place has some of the best food around with a large menu and plenty to choose from. I usually order several items like the gumbo or the po-boy plate. This time I went with the glazed donuts, easily some of my favorite donuts. This spot does require patience since everything is cooked to order and it's almost always packed. That said, I've never had a bad meal here. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall, so don't expect a lot when it comes to cleanliness, and that's the reason for the 4 stars. If you're coming for flavor and don't mind the wait or the no-frills atmosphere, it's worth the stop. read more

Oh my God!!! These doughnuts are HEAVENLY!! Forget about Krispy Kreme Tastee The Buttermilk Drop or any of those other doughnut bakeries Baby this place is the bomb!! I'm so happy I live a ways away bc if not I'd be a contestant on my 600lb life for sure!! I lose all senses when we are going to or leaving the airport baby I need a half dozen of them hot glazed!!! Lawd have mercy!!! My eyes roll back in my head like drug addict when I get them I've gotten my whole family on to them!! They're open 24 hours! Always friendly always a welcoming diner feel!! The food was terrible - Extremely unseasoned. The donuts look fine but we got the étouffée and fried fish and it was tasteless. The étouffée just tased like butter and the fish was offensively flavorless. The lady at the front was kinda rude too. Kids meal is also just a tiny burger and a fat bag of fries for $10 no drink. Definitely better places to get food. read more

EVERYTHING IS THE SAME JUST A NEW NAME. This location changed its name recently but it is still the exact same place we have all loved for the past 40 years. Same amazing owners and staff. I've been eating at Tastees for over 20 years and I have never been as disappointed as I've been lately. I ordered a hot sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on toast and I could not believe how it looked. One slice of cheese, one patty, and barely any eggs. First of all these are the BEST fried pork chops in Louisiana! Okay? Okay. And then when you get your food- they give you a complimentary donut!! Whaaaaattt?!? Can we say automatic addiction?!? Everything we ate here tasted great - stopped off for a quick Sunday morning bite headed to the airport. This is a unique 24/7 restaurant / diner that is also a donut shop. Late night run to Tastee's for hot donuts and breakfast NEVER FAILS! I love this New Orleans gem for so many reasons but the biggest reason is the HOT DONUTS! You can pop up at any time of day at this 24 hour spot and get a dozen of the best glazed donuts ever! I also love their menu with all the good food including soul food and a good 'ol traditional breakfast. read more

This place is a hidden jewel!!! It's tucked in a little strip mall on Loyola in Kenner just a couple of minutes off the interstate. They're open 24 hours. I crept in there about 2 am recently. The place was jumping. People getting hot donuts late at night. I got the butter bean plate with a piece of fish. It came with a drink and a donut. All for about $11. It was good and good. Can't beat the amount of food I got for the $!!! read more

The food is great but the the cashier on this day an time 4/30/25 at around 9 pm refused to take an order for the next morning by phone....I come here all the time an I am seriously thinking never coming here again...an let everyone I know how they refused to take my order for the next day....I have never had this problem before so why this one cashier is being ugly!!!!!!!!!!!! This spot is truly a hidden gem yall. Now don't go flocking over cos you're going to mess it up for all of us, head over in a single file& have some manners. So from beginning to end. It's a small hole in the wall, only about 4/5 tables. Definitely dated but clean & kept it good condition. Placing the order takes time and you will not be serviced immediately. The lady was emotionless but a complete sweetheart. With all my extra requests (more napkins, a new bag, bought two donuts) she was nice and didn't give me grief about anything. Anyways, I was standing around for a good 3/4 minutes before she emerged from the back to take my order. I ordered the smothered Turkey wing, with jambalaya, shrimp & crawfish pasta and potato salad. No lie, it took about a good 20/25 minutes for my food to come out, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The Turkey just fell off the bone. (If you Turkey wings then you know it can be tough and hard if not cooked properly.) I DIDNT NEED A TOOTHPICK AFTER EATING THE WING! That says a lot to me lol. Everything about the wing was perfection, the seasoning, the texture, the HEAT! The jambalaya was soooo freaking good. Potato salad was meh, there was a herb in it I didn't really care for but that's a me problem. And the crawfish and shrimp pasta was PERFECTION!!! Chunks all throughout the cup, seasoned well, with a hint of spice. I can't emphasize enough how kind this lady was to me even tho I went back up to the register about 3 more times after my initial order. She was so much patience and that is a big deal for me. This place is absolutely worth a try. I'm so sad I found this spot the day I was flying out but it's a HUGE plus that it's a five minute drive from the airport. So I'll def be coming back and trying something new when I'm in town again. read more

The fried turkey wing and the crawfish étouffée were fire and the donuts are delicious I'd definitely recommend sliding through here after you land at MSY airport. It's open 24 hours and the people are kind and friendly with the top notch service in that thang bebe. I'll be bac the next time I'm in town. read more

I was passing through on my way to Lafayette. This place is sooo good! I ordered a breakfast croissant with hot sausage... I'm not sure if they got it right but it was bomb! I got some donut holes as well. It only took a couple minutes to make and I would definitely come back to try thier lunch menu. read more

I had a big meeting this morning and wanted to step out on the right foot. This was the only donut shop open at 6:30am. I walked in and asked for a dozen donuts mixed (didn't care what they gave me). It was $14. I walked out with the donuts and didn't bother looking in the box at all. I was thinking "that's a lot for a dozen donuts". Boy when I tell you it was worth every penny! I've never had such interesting donuts. I got the banana pudding one! It had vanilla cookies on it and everything! Everyone loved them. I should've gotten 2 dozens! I did not end up getting the meat pie, but mad regret there. Just means I have to go back to try it. If you want warm ambience, family like feelings, and a nice warm cup of Cuban rich flavored coffee, this is for you. It is for me!

They have salami, jams and preservatives, coffee beans and loose teas. There's also honey, chocolate, candy and snacks. Their prices are much higher than what similar retailers charge. I did pick up a few jars of the apricot preservatives. I wanted to get some Kinder Egg Surprises for some kids, but they were $4.99 each. I've never seen them for more than $3. The owner was very short tempered and not at all pleasant in answering the most basic questions about the products in his store. This is a huge turn off. If I was in the area again, I would stay clear of this little store.

Normally we are never discriminated against, but I guess being hispanic and dark skinned you get profiled. My wife went to pick up her order tonight. They got her order wrong and when she brought it up to the caucasian employee's attention, the employee called the cops, profiling my wife. Once the cops arrived, the other employees that worked there and witnessed the discrimination, they came outside and explained to the officers that my wife paid for her food as she showed the officers her receipt. The hispanic officer told my wife that if she didn't remain quiet he would take her to jail. Mind you she paid for the food. We are visiting from California and never experienced this. The officer forcefully asked for her ID and other information. Two other hispanic officers showed up and asked why she was being detained. Once they checked her info they told her she was good to go. This made no sense. The first hispanic officer laughed as if this was all a joke and said if she didn't leave he would arrest her. Such a shameful and dispicable act. As far as the location,,,,,Its not the ghetto, that is such a mis-representation . Understand its a small area on the commercial scale, a strip shopping area along the boulevard... Accurately described, the location is urban residential, with a mixed population of working middle income families, with upscale residential in close proximity. That's more accurate. Be wise when you visit is all that's is recommended. When you stand in line, the aromas will delight you , look up at the menu board or ask about the specials. The real truth, its a 24 hour invitation to fill your appetite. I have no connection with this place, only that in my late hours or long hours , I have depended on getting my meal there. BEWARE SCAMMERS they are saving Credit Card numbers exchanging it out for cash .. I made a purchase on Sunday 6/16/24 .. on Monday night 6/17/24.. I was alerted that a purchase was made using my credit card number while I was sitting at home on my couch. Apparently there are scammers who work there at night it happened Monday @ 8:15pm. I will be filing a police report so called the bakery the owner was not available tonight I will call back in the morning. Update 6/18 @6:24 am . I go to tastee restaurant on the daily bases maybe even more then once a day everything is so good. Donuts are amazing I love when I get them hot which seem to be every time I go. I have never waited long for my food but everything is made to order. I have never been disappointed. The crawfish and shrimp pasta is to die for and so is the gumbo. Oh yea recently they started having home made roast beef talk about the best po boy in town. Breakfast is really good to. It's so awesome to go to this place. Really good customer service too. As a Diabetic, this place should be off limits. However, if I'm going to kill myself cheating, this is the place I'm going to do it at. Everything is always hot and fresh. Just the thought of this place in the morning makes my mouth water. I don't think I have ever had the same item twice. So much to choose from and priced just right. The little burgers...
