Hot latte + iced blueberry matcha
    Ashley Y.

I've passed by this place so many times but haven't tried it out until recently! I really do like the pastries. So much variety here so there's definitely something for everyone. Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

Initially, I came here for coffee but ended up ordering the Blueberry Matcha instead and I have no regrets. It was so good that my son ended up getting one for himself as well. They also have donuts, pastries, and a variety of other drinks, but the Matcha is definitely a must-try. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend getting it!

Café Dulce is my quick go to lunch spot I've always loved their pesto chicken sandwich and yummy matcha. I've have had many great experiences the staff here are always super friendly and helpful , which is why I was especially disappointed by my recent visit. I noticed flies on the pastries, which was concerning and made me question the cleanliness and food-handling practices. I hope the staff and management take this seriously and address the issue promptly. I'd love to continue supporting Cafe Dulce as it is a local favorite here at little Tokyo but I also expect the pastries and food to be kept in a clean, sanitary environment.

Honestly, Cafe Dulce is the go-to spot if you need a drink and a quick snack!! But honestly even their breakfast burritos and sandwiches are DELICIOUS! (Ask for some salsa on the side-you won't regret it ) I usually get the blueberry matcha with almond milk but today I was recommended by Daniel the Iced blueberry passion with agave. Such a refreshing drink, especially with summer coming up!! They get pretty packed, but for good reason. Talk to them nice!! Love that they have outdoor seating. Perfect for people watching on a busy day in Little Tokyo. Staff is always super friendly and always have good recommendations. Shoutout to Daniel, Mackenzie, and Steven!!

Came here for coffee as I wait for my dinner reservations and friends to arrive. I ran into a friend and she picked out a few treats to try and take with me. The mochi twist was delicious and I knew it would be because I like mochi donuts. What I didn't expect to be delicious and likely my favorite treat here was the dinosaur churro. If she didn't insist I think I would choose that last or gave it away. BUT I did try it and fell in love with it. I did share other items selected by my friend who was with me and did not get to taste them. The baristas were fun and friendly as they prepared our coffee. I was in deep thought waiting and one asked if I was okay and I said I was very good after coming back to the present. I'll be back for more dinosaur churros, coffee and other yummy treats.

Located in the Japanese Village Plaza. Delicious pastries and drinks. Clean space with limited seats inside but some seats and tables outside. Friendly staff

Superb customer service from the barista and staff. I got lucky and was the only one in line; usually this spot gets so busy and has a line out the door. I ordered one of their drinks; it was really good but strong! I needed it for the ride back to San Diego. I did try a few of their sweets; they were good. Cafe is spotless, clean and tidy. Great space for enjoying your drinks, people watch and chill vibe.

Such a cute cafe in the Little Tokyo area! I just popped in quickly to grab a Vietnamese Coffee, line was long and out the door but I was able to order and receive my drink in about 10-15 minutes. All the people working inside were very nice and very quick. The donuts and pastries looked so good! I will have to come back and try the creme brulee donuts when they are in stock. The cafe food looked really good too! I was not able to find out if they validate parking though, I was in such a rush. Vietnamese Coffee is good, very strong and bitter tasting if you like that! Will definitely come back to try other drinks as well.

We saw the Sick One enjoying some desserts and coffee at Cafe Dulce.

I saw the line so I decided to try this cute bakery/coffee shop. I asked the gentleman behind me what he suggested and he recommended the roti and the donut holes. I went with the blueberry roti and the matcha blueberry drink with oat milk. They were both delicious and now I understand why there was a line. I would come by anytime I'm at the Japanese Village.

I can only attest to the goodness of their iced blueberry matcha latte because the other iced drinks are very mid. I stick to what I know works. Give it a go.

While my husband and I were exploring Little Tokyo in LA on a Sunday morning around 9:00 A.M, one of the few places that was open was Café Dulce, right next to the Little Tokyo parking garage. The café offers a wide range of baguettes, croissants, meringues, brick toast, and other pastries that are made fresh on site! It was really busy when we visited early Sunday morning. Café Dulce also serves a rotating selection of specialty coffees. There is Vietnamese style iced coffee, Hong Kong style milk tea, Masala chai latte, and other drinks. There is also plenty of seating inside and outside as well. My husband and I ended up eating outside at the patio with one of the tables that was available. It was great to be able to eat and have a coffee while looking at all of the different stores. Current hours for the Café are the following Monday - Thursday: 8:00 A.M - 7:00 P.M Friday - Saturday: 8:00 A.M - 9:00 P.M Sunday: 8:00 A.M - 8:00 P.M We ended up getting the following Coffee Brick Toast (Original): This was good. It was slightly sweet, and soft bread on the inside. One of their baked goods that looked like a dinosaur egg. It had sugar on the outside, fried, and the dough was soft on the inside. It also had walnuts inside the bread. It reminded me slightly of a malasada. It was delicious and my favorite item at Café Dulce! I enjoyed my time at Café Dulce. Some of their offerings are quite unique. I'm from Las Vegas and was visiting LA. I haven't seen anything like some of the baked goods offered at Café Dulce before! I highly recommend if you're in the area to stop by!

There's paid lots to get here and you'll have to walk into the plaza. Inside is quite small so the line can extend out the door and the waiting area is narrow with limited seating. It's definitely best to take things to-go. The staff are nice and helpful. The drinks arrive at a decent time and the line moves quickly enough. I got the blueberry roti and it was really good! It had the right amount of sweetness. The cookie crust doesn't easily collapse. Also, there's a good ratio of compote to bun so it's not a gooey mess. You really get the taste of blueberries. Same, with the blueberry matcha latte. You get the taste of blueberries. Not so much the matcha. But it's still good and perfect default sweetness level. Definitely worth a visit!

This was awesome! The service was phenomenal and quick. The barista took his time to make sure my drink was beautifully made but did it so effortlessly and so entertaining. I loved how he made my drink and handed it off gently. 10/10! The dessert display was SO hard to choose from. The red velvet cake jar seemed like a great choice and it was. It was so smooth and soft. I also got a sea salt chocolate chip cookie. So incredibly moist. The fact I got all 3 for less than $15 is pretty great! The shop is so cute and just the perfect place to dine in alone or with a friend. Definitely a must try. Mental note for next time: Bestie, Please try the brownie!

I did ask the gal working if they were made that day and she said yes. We ordered a raspberry, an orange, a coffee bean and the popular mango. This was my 2nd time trying these and our hopes were high BUT the raspberry was just awful the filling was strange and it had just raspberry jam inside,I dint eat it. The mango was okay so we shared that. The coffee bean was just awful as well so we didn't finish that either. The orange was the best of the group but overall just a disappointing experience once again because these are not cheap. I'm starting to think I might just have to give up my journey to find these although there are some places in Vegas that look promising. I don't think Reno has any bakeries that make these. There were endless selection of salt bread and different flavoured buns which all looked delicious. As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.

A week later, I walked in with a $10 bill and walked out with $3.50 worth of change shuffling in my back pocket. Shohei and I are skipping town. I took the train to a stop far from covetous eyes. I devoured the 1st mochi street side, liberating smooth white chocolate ganache from its stretchy mochi enclosure. Then I ate another one. Was it worth the two trips and the odd feeling of handling paper bills? Sure, because long before Shohei, I've loved Fugetsu Do. Korey's Chocolate mochi is my all-star, named after the founder's great grandson. Years ago, Korey's dad, Brian Kito, was at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Monterey Park, demonstrating how to make mochi. He told us he created this treat because his son likes chocolate. I was hooked. I usually buy their confectionery at the local Mitsuwa or Marukai. It's inspiring, though, to see this shop in real life, standing on First St. as the oldest business still operating in Little Tokyo. Shuttered during WWII when the Kito family was incarcerated, it was rebuilt from scratch when they returned with no money or access to their equipment. The founder's son Roy and his wife Kazuko slept at the Buddist temple while he worked as a waiter to save up. With determination and community support, Fugetsu Do reopened for business in 1946. It is now a piece of living history, a testament to human hope and mochi, stretched and pounded, only to come out stronger on the other side.

My only regret is I came when they were actively restocking half of the mochis (like 4 trays at the same time worth). I wouldn't have mind waiting for them to restock, but the way it's set up with the long lines and crowds you kind of are pressured and rushed to order right away even if half of their selection isn't visible to get. The employees are friendly but in a "hurry up and quickly tell me what you want" way to keep the line moving. I managed to snag a couple pieces they were restocking but did feel rushed and fomo of the pieces I didn't get. It's hard to know what you want or order if you're unfamiliar with their descriptions, there's no pictures or menu, and the selections they are restocking are hidden behind a counter you can't really see. So it's not like you can point to a mochi either. It felt a bit like a random guessing game of not much communication of what they have available and them also staring at you expectedly trying to get you to hurry up and order. Not the best feeling but still very happy with the mochis I got. Just unlucky I guess with the exact timing. The mochis themselves were very delicious and I was happy with how they turned out. In fact I flew back to the Midwest with both boxes stuffed in my suitcase, and shockingly they survived the trip. I and my family were eating them and finished all of them by 3 days later, with only a slight degradation of chewiness. I'd say that's extremely impressive for maintaining of freshness. Hopefully those who visit from out of town find this review helpful and are wondering if it'll keep. I didn't put these on the fridge and kept them room temp the whole time too. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!
