I love the little Tokyo plaza and this place was literally right in the middle of it! What a prime location. Every time i pass this place there's always a line and for good reason too! I recommend going in the morning to avoid a line! Matcha roti 5/5: the best way to describe the texture is like a "mochi" donut with better texture and coated in sugar. It was so soft and chewy on the inside with some nuts? For added texture. It's definitely worth trying! read more

Went to Cafe Dulce after getting a gift card as a gift. The place is located in the Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo so it can be crowded at times. Its a great place to get a snack or meal. We had a pesto sandwich, as well as some pastries. All were excellent, and would totally recommend! We didn't get any drinks, but we saw many people order some. We went to Cafe Dulce after visiting the Japanese American National Museum (also a thumbs up in Little Tokyo). Tip: The place can be crowded/long lines due to it's location in the Japanese Village Plaza (Little Tokyo), so expect a line during busy weekends. Also they don't have their own parking, but the Japanese Village Plaza does (paid). The plaza is also very close to a Metro Train Station if you want to take the train. read more

I got the iced matcha and it wasn't so bad!. I enjoyed it and would get it again! The ambiance is nice and friendly ! The service was good, the workers were kind and helpful! The coffee is extra creamy and delicious here! I got a regular iced coffee with almond milk and it was creamy. My kids ordered donuts with fruity pebbles and cocoa puffs on top, and I ordered some specialty strawberry cream doughnut for my neighbor. Can hardly wait to come back. read more

If I think about my past visits here, I honestly came here more for the savory breakfast foods! They're reasonably priced and always delicious and generously portioned. That steak burrito is so darn tasty. The service is attentive and friendly. The cafe is pretty small though so it gets crowded very quickly and there's always a line out the door. The outdoor table seating is always occupied and snatched up quickly. Despite that, I think this is one of the few places where you can get a decent inexpensive grub and a delicious matcha or coffee beverage! read more

Been coming to this place for over 6 years - just glad it survived the pandemic. It is located inside the Japanese Village Plaza (think they still go by that name) and same plaza where the only grocery in Japanese town is located so just a hint if you are in the hunt for Japanese snacks, soy sauce, chocolate, furikake, etc. The food and drinks have remained consistent to date. Here are some helpful tips and info: 1. Parking - in adjacent structure 2. Service - very solid; even though they have changed staff, front staff always friendly and helpful 3. Food - *Baked goods- out of this world, variety of donuts like fruity pebbles, matcha, hazelnut, maple bacon, etc. *Salads - all are good and substantial servings but my all time fave is Asian Chicken salad - I start perusing thinking will order other items and in the end time and time again, I end up with this salad :) *Dulce Latte - rich and robust coffee Note: My second fave next to Klatch coffee If you are in DTLA and want a quick and delicious lunch at a reasonable price, this place is highly recommended NOTE: Lots of tables and chairs outside and with that people watching also;) read more

Cafe kind of felt like a revelation. I am visiting for the day (to see MCR) and stopped here before heading to the airport. The coffee feels spot on but the donut might be the best donut I've had in my life. It is fluffy, delectable and actually made me enjoy eating a donut. Didn't seek out this place - I was driving by and my google map indicated a cafe, so I stopped for coffee. I visited this place a total of 2 times for regular, standard coffee and matcha - both times the coffee was bitter and the matcha felt like I purchased it out of a gas station. Condiments also terrible, and you have to ask for creamer. I think the alleged popularity of this place may stem from the fact that it's located in a Japanese village replica, and many people, particularly Asia-boos and less-discerning customers, may enjoy the ambiance more than anything. The matcha is supposedly their signature drink, but really, if you live in LA, you may be severely disappointed at the quality. The setup of the place, except for outside seating, is subpar and if you are looking for Asian pastries, there are way better and tastier options around. And last, the attitudes of the servers can really use an upgrade - major passive aggressiveness. Why is this?... If you want to have an attitude and be excused for it, then you must produce something so superior that people will overlook it - sadly, this place failed on all fronts. read more

They have one of the best matcha lattes in Los Angeles. I always get the large because it's so good. The consistency is always smooth and not gritty. I'm not a huge fan of blueberry but their blueberry matcha is absolutely phenomenal. read more

Great place in Little Tokyo. You'll find all sorts of delicious worthwhile carbs but also good stuff like fruit tarts and Asian Chicken Salads. I highly recommend both! Great taste and flavor. Parking is available in various areas from $9-$12. There's always a line usually during lunch time but it moves fast. You'll probably wait about 10 -15 minutes or so during peak hours. I stumbled on Cafe Dulce on the way to my hotel from a yoga class. It was one of the few bakeries/cafes open during that time, so there was a steady stream of customers going in and out. Since I had just finished a vigorous yoga class, I was pretty hungry and got one of their breakfast sandwiches. Don't get me wrong... I would've gotten one of their donuts in a heartbeat. But my sweet tooth didn't win the battle against my brain convincing me otherwise. Although technically I satisfied my sweets craving by having a nonfat vanilla latte. Service was Ok. My drink came out very fast, but my sandwich took some time to get made. I'm a huge fan of Japanese milk bread, which was used for the making of the sandwich. It also came with cheese, a fried egg, arugula, avocado (can swap with deli ham or turkey), and a slightly spicy honey dijon type of sauce. read more

Cool drinks, delish donuts- a little too pricey though. The guy cashier was very nice although he was so busy and line was too long he still managed to accomodate our "receipt issues" without him feeling annoyed, in contrary to the girls who were preparing the drinks that you have to make your voice loud on top of your lungs so that they can hear your question because they were too busy chatting. street and Paid parking available. read more

Amazing place! And amazing service, the line are pretty long I would have to say, but that's mostly all. The food was great, I had a green iced tea with a brick toast (not in the pictures). the toast was so good, soft and fluffy with a sweet taste, the green iced tea was amazing, felts feel light and had herbal flavors. Don't let this place fool you! There's only a line because the place is too damn small. The matcha doesn't even taste like matcha!! It tastes like milk dyed green with too much sugar. And trust me, I know what real matcha tastes like. Especially since I've been to Japan and am Japanese myself. The creme brûlée matcha donut tastes burnt. You get no matcha flavor or crème brûlée flavor. What a waste of money AND time standin' outside that door!!! read more

I want to love this place since it was so busy at night but I feel a little off walking in because the cashier kept staring at me like telling to hurry up. I ordered 3 drinks and 3 pastries which came out to be around $30. 1. Matcha latte: 4/5 the drink is good but not as strong as I thought ( more of a sweet drink) 2. Blueberry Matcha: 3/5 my sister and I both agreed it is missing blueberry flavor 3. Green tea donut: 1/5 just horrible, you could taste the oil from it 4. My friend recommended their matcha jasmine tea latte and it did not disappoint! The drink only comes hot but it was perfect for a nighttime dessert. For the lactose intolerant friends, they are able to sub with oat or almond milk. I also got their decadent carrot cake. The slice is huge, making it good for sharing. Their OG Roti bun is similar to that of Sobok Sobok in Rowland Heights. If you've never had a coffee bun (Kopi Roti), the crusted top is like the top of a HK Pineapple Bun. Next time, I definitely want to try their strawberry cake. Overall, the drinks and dessert are a bit pricier. It makes sense though given that this is Little Tokyo. Street parking or nearby garage parking only. Not the best space to study/do work as they only have counter seating and outdoor furniture. read more

My only gripe is that Cafe Dulce bases off of assumption, this could be an issue if you're not one to speak up and ask questions. Menu: The menu is not really visible, and with a long line behind me I felt some pressure. I quickly made an order to get out of the way; the cashiers were wonderful and quickly assisted guests. Having a full visible menu speaks for itself, relieve some stress for the team and help add items to the point of sale. Honestly I would've spent more had I known there was a menu, I didn't see it until I was leaving. Sweetener: My coffee was strong and I honestly didn't know what the bottle was, because it looked like a clear bottle of idk. Haha. Seating: it's small, but it is what it is. I'd move the trashcan away from the seating for a more comfortable enjoyment. Would I recommend this place? Yes. read more

I actually did see a cat on a leash inside one time and no one said anything, but since the cafe is so small on the inside, any bigger pets will have to dine with you outside at one of their many tables in the courtyard. More comfortable, too.

Coffee preferences are subjective, of course, but the flavor profile just didn't quite hit the mark for me. I wouldn't necessarily say it's super strong, but it's definitely not weak either. It doesn't have as much of that bitter/earthy matcha taste. The drinks do lean on the sweeter side, which is kind of a dilemma for me because the cream is SO good, but it also takes away from the matcha a little. I love the cream and wouldn't want less of it, but I do wish the matcha came through a bit more. Additionally, the cup is pretty small And getting matcha here is honestly a whole DEDICATED JOURNEY. Parking, waiting in line, waiting for your drink... you have to really want that matcha. But I would 100% come back. He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

YAY for Cafe Dulce!! I love you! Finally, a great coffee house/bakery in Little Tokyo! It took over the old Ce Fiore spot, across from Shabu Shabu House. I was worried for awhile since the space was empty for so long....but as always, good things come to those who wait. I've never understood why nobody ever thought of opening a nice, cute cafe in J-town. It seems kinda obvious to do so with all the busy traffic and great restaurants around the area. Sometimes, I just want to grab a cup of coffee and sit around with friends, and my only option was always...Starbucks. Blegh! My favorite part about this cafe is that they brew LAMILL coffee and teas, and now I don't have to drive all the way to Silverlake to get my java fix! I've also tried a few of their baked goods and they have these Macaroon Cookie Ice Cream sandwiches...oh dear Lord. I think these might be the next BIG thing! It was so good! All their breads/desserts are displayed behind a glass case, so I was able to put my nose up to the glass without drooling all over it. :] I eat with my eyes first! I saw that they had different baguette sandwiches on the menu as well, so I gotta go back and try it for lunch one of these days. The Bulgogi one sounded really good! I was in Little Tokyo on a visit one day when I decided to stop by Cafe Dulce for a much-needed caffiene boost. The large window of fresh donuts also persuaded me to try this place out. The shop is pretty clean and there isn't a lot of indoor seating but there are a few outdoor umbrella tables to sit at. The latte that I ordered tasted pretty average -- it wasn't very strong but definitely is not as sweet as a Starbucks drink. Either way, it did its job but I probably won't be ordering the latte again since I enjoy something with more flavor. Three stars. The donuts are what did me in and warranted a four star review. They bake donuts fresh on a daily basis and top them with all sorts of treats: bacon, cereal (fruity pebbles), peanut butter or chocolate frosting -- it seems like they have various donuts depending on the day you show up and at a pretty decent rate as well ($1-2 for a donut). cafe dulce is hands down my favorite cafe in LA! i work close by so i go at least once a week and everything is delicious!! i love donuts so i've tried every single kind they have and ALL of them are good. seriously, all of them! just depends on what you like. my favorite thing is the koko churro, the texture is so unique and chewy. then my other favorites are the green tea donut, a fluffy soft donut filled with green tea custard, the strawberrys n cream donut, a fluffy glazed donut with custard in the middle topped with marscarpone and a strawberry, and the hazelnut crumble, a flakey donut with hazelnut buttercream in the middle. More of a 3.5 star reviews. Stopped in after dinner so the review is pretty limited. Wanted to try the famous green tea donut, but they were out by the time we got there. Had a HK milk tea and shared bacon donut. Surprised that the HK milk tea actually had some good flavor. Lots of places in LA serve it, but most of them are downright bad and no flavor. The bacon donut was pretty good, but the problem was that it was a bit cold from the display case. Won't dock them too much for that because I'm pretty sure if it was heated up a bit, the donut would be very good. The texture and flavors were good, just a bit gummy due to the temp i think Want to come back and try a few more desserts and drinks before I make a final judgement, but this cafe is very solid and you can see the effort and quality they put into it. read more

Pop into this not-so fancy Café Dulce for a far-fetched cup of coffee or soothing tea! I actually tried it in a whim (with a few pals) yesterday noon and really happy that came across this one in town. Well, the restaurant is really delightful for almost everything that it has under its roof - you name it and it tastes delectable enough to rest on your taste buds. Oh by the way, do not forget to try their artisanal sandwiches and freshly brewed coffee. Both the stuff come flavorful and really fresh straight from their kitchen's section! Shouldn't be hanged for tagging it as the best darn coffee in Los Angeles! But, service's a bit crushed (guess guys had many irons in fire). Possibly THEE best damn donut I ever had. Soooo tasty, so unexpected. Now they have ALL types of tasty delights from Captin' Crunch Donuts to Apple Tuna sandwiches to fresh brewed coffee. I just went on the safe side and got their Strawberry Cream donut. MY GOODNESS. The look of it was otherworldly. It had strawberry jam glazed upon it, a dollop of what tasted like cream cheese frosting, fresh berries and fluffy strawberry cream squeezed in the middle. It was paradise at first bite. Although it is a bit messy to eat (dont even try cutting it with a knife) it was worth the mess. I highly recommend Cafe Dulce in the Japanese Plaza in Little Tokyo for anyone looking for delicious sandwiches and drinks. My personal favorite sandwich is the Dulce Club, Jambon de Paris, which is packed with flavor and always satisfies my cravings. I also love their dinosaur egg, which is a fun and unique treat. Their drinks are also amazing, especially the HK Milk Tea, Matcha Latte, and Viet Coffee. I'm a big fan of their drinks and always feel like they add a special ingredient that makes them irresistible. Cafe Dulce offers 2 vegan donuts at $3 a piece: a coconut with icings, and a PB&J donut. Both are good but the PB&J can feel a little bit heavy. I wish they would change up the vegan flavors sometimes. It's always the same two flavors. I do have a pet peeve with this place. When I order iced latte, light ice and pay extra for almond milk, they will literally fill the cup to 3/4 full. I've asked them to fill it all the way and they said they go by the measurement and because I had asked for light ice, there will be less drink. Woah really? Bad practice. It's not that much more almond milk to fill it to the top even if customers ask for light ice. This alone keeps me from buying their coffee again, I will stick to Starbucks. read more

Cafe Dulce is a fantastic spot that hits all the right notes! I tried the blueberry matcha, green tea roti, and iced coffee, and everything was absolutely delicious. How amazing that was, coming to a place that you has never seen before. Los Angeles is such a beautiful place which brings you close to highly intensified things as well as eatables. Most of the other times, people taste a fact to relate these factors coming in proper ways ahead. You taste a thing which late is gratification and yield such an outstanding stuff which was never supported by the others. Coffee & Tea from this place always carry me with a long range of wide spread memories. Last week I went to this place with my friend cum buddy. We ordered for 2 donuts and a cappuccino to share. Head straight to Café Dulce for a fantastic cup of Joe or soothing tea! Came here with a colleague this morning and so glad to have tried this one! Well, the place's really impressive for almost everything that it has under its hut - you name it and it tastes delicious enough to rest on your taste buds. Ah, you just can't go wrong with its artisanal sandwiches and freshly brewed coffee. Extremely fresh and full of tasteful ingredients! Shouldn't be hanged for tagging it as the best darn coffee in little Tokyo. But, service's a bit crushed (guess guys had many irons in fire). This place has my favorite salad which i can eat everyday. Its called Spicy peanut Kale salad i believe. I always get it with chicken and it is a perfect meal. You will taste three dimensional flavors in your mouth along with the chewy, slightly bitter texture of the Kale really makes it taste so good. I know Kale salad??? How good can it possibly be? But i was surprised the first time and been eating it ever since. And those that follow me know that i don't even order salad. Their coffee and tea's are top notch along with their friendly service. We've all heard of philly cheese steaks. Well my friends, there's a new kid on the block. The Spicy korean cheese steak sandwich is now my new favorite cheese steak sandwich and Cafe Dulce is where it's at! $8.50 never tasted so good! A big ole sandwich on french baguette bread with loads of delicious, sweet beef, coleslaw (which I normally don't like but there's I'm quite fond of), kimchi, provolone and their secret, highly delicious hot sauce. Obviously this isn't your traditional cheese steak sandwich but it certainly is one of the most delicious ones! Fellow bacon lovers, you may have tried to put bacon on everything but I bet you haven't tasted a bacon donut unless you've come to Cafe Dulce. Now I'll be honest, I was hesitating to try the bacon donut holes, it could have been the best decision I've ever made in my own little world of baked goods or the worst. I went for it, and I can gladly say that it was, in fact, the best bacon baked anything I've had. I commend Cafe Dulce for this creation. Come to think of it, I haven't come across any place that does bacon donut holes. Thank you Cafe Dulce, for thinking of the bacon lovers. Coffee and donuts is the best pairing in the world, and Cafe Dulce offers that. They use Lamill coffee. Their espressos and capps are well-made, but I am not a fan of their cold brew. It's not as concentrated as I'd like it to be. The donuts are excellent. I like the green tea donut. People love the maple bacon donut, which I think is just okay. I actually like their roti a lot. I was pleasantly surprised by the spirallina one, which was much lighter and chewier than I thought, and not tough. There are quite a bit of tables outside, but just counterspace inside. There is an outlet here and there. They do not have restrooms. read more

I ordered a fruity pebble donut hole OMG perfect amount of cakeyness and creamy frostyness. Not too sweet! Tried a hong kong milk tea? i think that was the name.. Either way its a big cup of milktea for me but it was yummy. Definitely stop here when in Little Tokyo. The guys working the coffee/tea bar were so nice and gave us samples while we were waiting to order. Good experience and hope to come back here to try the green tea donuts. read more
