Use to eat here routinely after they first opened. The staff were courteous and quick, removing dishes and filling beverage glasses, etc. The food was the typical Chinese buffet affair, high calorie fried food and different rice and noodle dishes, perfect for those wishing to bulk up. Never had any health issues. The disheartening problem was lack of cleanliness. The carpet looked as if it had been used in a local auto repair shop, filthy. The eating utensils always appeared not exactly clean, their dishwasher needed a little help. I assume this is why napkins were for? On the last occasion, food droppings were numerous on the carpet as the serving line. Recommend they close long enough to refurbish the dining area. read more

Food is very good. But I went to eat there on Sunday (March 3, 2019), and it was a roach on the wall on my booth. I called the waiter over to let her know and she just killed the roach and handed me my ticket. I went to the front desk to explain to them what happened and to ask for compensation, and they gave me 30% off of my meal. I couldn't even finish my food!!!! I've been going there for a couple of years now the food is good I never had any problems with that and the service is great the people are friendly. But the main problem that needs to be fixed is the cleanliness of this place the restrooms are terrible there is graffiti all over the wall it's just nasty I don't even use the bathroom when I go there. The booths are nasty I don't think they clean them at all I went out to eat with my mom and we were seated at a booth and while we were eating I saw a roach crawling up the wall from the side of the booth. The food was fantastic and definitely worth the money. The sushi was made well and their chicken was superb. Going in, we didn't expect the best customer services. Much to our surprise, they helped us choose the most delicious food and got us regular refills. Definitely one of the best buffets i've been to. Highly recommend it. read more

This is a HORRIBLE RESTAURANT the manager refused to take a charge off that I did not authorize for my infant son that is only 10 months old and still breastfeeding. This was my first time there and the experience was horrible I would not recommend the food was nasty. I told them we had a party of 4 and the lady wrote 5 adding my infant and lied & said he was 1 years old. I didn't know this until I asked to pay for our ticket and seen the unauthorized charge. I asked politely to remove charge the manager refused and called the police. When police arrived they told me they get called to that Restruant a lot they they do this all the time to customers. do not go here and spend you hard earned money on crooks who take advantage of people and their money. This use to be really good, but I hadn't been in about 2 years. I came here for lunch with my sister the other day. It was $22.00 for both of us, which I thought was reasonable but unfortunately, the food was a little less than average. My biggest problem was that everything on the buffet that I had was cold. I did see them restocking the buffet with hot food, however, the food did not stay hot for long. They may need to adjust the heat lamps. This place has become horrible. I have eaten here before numerous times during lunch, but not in the last year or so. I see why their rating is so low. I generally don't hold buffet restaurants to the same food quality standards of a regular restaurant because they have to produce large quantities of food in a cost effective manner. However, the service should be good since the waitstaff only has to do minor things and be polite. This shithole has below avg buffet food, filthy seats & tables and rude inattentive servers. Anyone who has broke bread with me will tell you that I am notorious for over tipping. Even when I was nine I scolded my mother for not leaving a generous tip to an overly nice waitress at the Dot coffeeshop. I have always followed a rule of giving at least 10% even when the service is horrible and have been known to give over 50% when it is great. I have never in my life ever not given a tip to a server until today and I am 57. Even as I write this I am feeling bad that the staff in this place made my visit so horrible that it forced me to go against my own personal policy. However, I cannot reward horrible service and indifference. Some of the food items tasted spoiled, especially the carrots in the Kung Pao chicken and the onions in the noodles and the salad bar. The soups tasted rancid and old. The table they sat me at was dirty and the seats had food debris. I had to beg for my refills and each time the sorry waiter filled my glass I said "Thank You." When he brought the check I had decided to leave a 10% tip, but after I put my credit card in the tray he walked by my table twice and never looked to his right serving the tables behind and in front if me. When he finally picked it up he brought back the tray with the two receipts and just dropped them and left. No utterance of any Thank You, Have a Nice Day or Happy Holidays. I was beside myself with anger after I had been so polite and respectful with him. Sure the place was busy, but not overly crowded and they had lots of waitstaff so it could not have been from hustling. He was just a sorry assed individual that should never be allowed to interact with paying guests. That was the straw that broke me. I have experienced bad service numerous times, but most waiters will try and save the experience by apologizing and try to gloss over the bad service, but this guy didn't give a damn. From the amount of people eating in this dump I doubt they care what their customers think and still do reasonably well on a transient customer base. So my review like the others probably won't matter and they could probably not care less if I never come back. read more

The price online is not accurate it is almost $13 per person , the food isn't a very wide range of options and it was. When Cafe East first opened it was the place to go but has declined over the years. I took my family there last night 7-20-2011 and it was horrable! Anything fried was dried out tough and tasteless, the sushi was fishy and the seaweed was tough, everything I ate with the exciption of the ice cream and salt and pepper pork was horrable.I will never go there again! read more

Rice was hard, meat was over cooked, tried several things thinking that we'd get something that was decent but no luck. First time at Cafe East, and we will make it our last. Me and my girlfriend sat down and the waitress came over and reached across the table brushing her shoulder against my lip, grabbing the drink ticket in a rush. We both ordered a beer, and the waitress was over- reacting about our age. We showed our Ids, and she still kept asking if we were sure we were old enough. I'm 31 years old! She seemed almost angry rolling her eyes, as if she didn't believe us. Who goes to a Chinese buffet across the street from the police station to underage drink?? I decided that I didn't want to deal with her rudeness anymore, so I walked to the front desk to ask if I could switch waitresses, and she starts yelling "what can I do for you!?" Across the restaurant. How unprofessional. I ignore her as she continues yelling, switching to Chinese occasionally to comment to her co-worker. I came back to the table to find my girlfriend was looking as irritated as I was feeling. Seconds later the manager came to our table to address the problem. I told him I no longer wanted her at my table, then I explained why. He shook his head and said she was the only one bringing drinks, though I clearly saw a few other waitresses. He kept ignoring everything I said about her rudeness, and kept taking her side, regardless of what I was saying. We got up and walked out, leaving our plates, the manager, and the newly irritated waitress, standing there dumbfounded. We will not ever set foot in this restaurant again. There was a good variety of food and it was very clean. Our waiter was very attentive and brought us napkins and refills before we even asked. I have a one year old baby and they were very accommodating, they even had a changing table. The food was very good and even though it was a bit on the expensive side ($28 for 2 adults with drinks) it was worth it. Definitely will return. read more

The selection on food is incredible Chinese, American and Mexican. The food is very hot. I have 4 kids. So lots of rounds at the buffet. They're out putting new food out every few minutes. The fried food was hot and crispy. How many buffets can u say that? Huge selection of different seafoods. The service was awesome. The waitress was around very often. We never had a pile of dishes on the table. The restaurant was very clean. The only thing my daughter was disappointed about was they didn't have her Chinese noodles she loves. Lol read more

My wife and I have eaten here since it was new. The first few years everything was great, then declined. We quit going here but every once in awhile my wife would like one item they had on their Buffet. Each time we went back we said we would not go back. Went there for lunch today. Food was horrible most everything was cold in the sea food tasted like?. The place was filthy when I told the manager I would not pay for my food he got angry and told me that I would have to pay full price. Then he came back and said that he would take 10% off of my check. I said I'm not paying for something that made me sick. Will not ever go back I suggest that you never eat there it will cost them a heck of a lot more than 25 bucks with all the reviews that I see. Horrible food and service. read more

The selection on the buffet was wonderful. The service however was horrible. I sat and watched the server sit down and stare around barely making rounds at her tables. She was on her phone. No dishes cleared. Had to go to her for a refill then she turns her back as she holds a podium up. Had to get check since our baby was getting fussy. Then she gets the check runs my card and hovers over me as I fill out the tip line. I gave her more than she deserves. Seeing the reviews this is not a uncommon thing. I don't like to be hovered.
