Cafe Genovese is a hidden gem. Local breakfast joint reminds me of my Dads coffee shop from the 80's in NYC. Quaint friendly. While we were seated and others walked in the owner knew so many regulars by name. We felt welcomed. Perfect for breakfast & lunch, closed at 2pm. My scrambled eggs were fluffy and hash browns toasty crispy as asked . Was surprised they had everything bagels and not just plums like most places. This will become a regular place to go. No food pics, sorry forgot and I ate it all:))

What a small but quaint breakfast spot in the St Johns county. We came in around 10:30 am and as patrons were leaving, and empty table was ours for the taking. We had our grand with us which was a treat. He ordered simple eggs and bacon. Wifey had alittle bit of this and a little bit of that. I had the number 5 including corn beef hash, french fries, scrambled eggs and rye toast! The back of the shirt said, "A place where everyone knows your name". I wanted to shout to the roof top, " I m Jerry!, and this is my wife Ramona and our grandson Nolan. We got the check and was off to the races. The owner was engaged in deep conversation so there was bo thank for coming needed. We will be back! Sorry IHOP and Dennys, Cafe Genovese has hit a bullseye withe Henriquez clan!

Wanna feel like you're back home in the NY come here. This is a real old fashioned breakfast place with the friendliest staff. The walls are adorned with Yankee, Giants and first responder pictures . Whenever we walk in we get treated like old friends. You want hash ? You want fried eggs? You can get it here & even more. They serve a great breakfast but also salads & lunch. This is a no frills get it like you want it place. They have a busy counter where the owner cook interacts with local folks about all that's going on in this busy & growing area. Great hot coffee with free refills too. Welcome home!

While traveling through the area, my wife and I stumbled across this little gem. The worst thing I can say is they are hidden in a small, out of the way little plaza. They should be in a much more prominent location so more people can discover this gem. Food was great, prices were good and staff was helpful and friendly.

We just stopped in around 11 on a Saturday. The place was completely full, so we had to eat at the counter as those were the only two open seats. Most of the diners were having breakfast, and everything looked good with large portions. We opted for lunch instead and had the phillychicken cheese steak and a burger. Both sandwiches were good. They were accompanied by onion rings, which were average. If we come back in the future, we will probably try the breakfast options

BLT & Turkey today with some fries so yummy so many good eats! Support local business!!!

We've been wanting to try Cafe Genovese but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays! Finally we were able to visit then on a Friday lunch! One thing I noticed when we came in was that there was no sign outside to wear a mask. And true enough, nobody from the staff was wearing one. I think we were the only ones lol. I don't know about the other customers though since they were already eating. Now for the food! We ordered Grilled Chicken Philly with salad for the side and Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. Both meals were delicious! We especially loved the onion rings! It was crispy and not greasy, very good! There were more people coming in and seems to be regulars. Some of them wearing masks. Overall, we definitely enjoyed our food and we will still come back, but maybe after covid.

I had French toast (just the regular but the cinnamon roll French toast looked really tempting). It was just slightly crispy around the edges and I love that. It was delicious too and if I had more space I would have eaten it all. The coffee was great diner/cafe coffee. And if you enjoy that type, you'll know exactly what I mean. I drank it black and they also gave me a cup to go! We did have to wait a couple minutes for a table but not long at all. They turn over tables pretty quickly! Our server was wonderful and really on the ball. Our food came out pretty quickly too, in spite of them being quite busy. It was a little loud in there but not so much we couldn't hear each other. I do like that they have counter seating as an option! We needed a table this round to spread out coloring materials lol. But the counter looks like a nice place to sit too. I've kind of given up hope at this point. When we have visited the establishment in person I'd give it another star, but their quality control is SO bad, I feel like it would be a stretch. When they were new, we got a carry out order that had food with mold on it. While the mold was facing up in my tray in plain view, I still dismissed it as something that could happen. However, every delivery order we've ever gotten from there has been completely messed up. Most of the time missing items, or neglecting to make elected substitutions (offered not implied). However, literally EVERY time we've ordered from there we have not received any sauces or dressings... First off, I'm not talking about a ketchup packet, I'm talking about salads with no dressing. Chicken tenders with no dressing, etc... things that made the food inedible when you don't receive them... so, straight in the trash they go. Also, I'm not talking once or twice... I'm talking probably 6 times. So much so, in fact, that I now buy sauces and dressings from the store to keep on hand in case we order food from there because we know we aren't getting it - which defeats the purpose of ordering out. Also, so many times we've had to request refunds that UBER EATS cancelled some of our features because it has pretty much labeled us as complainers at this point, and they assume that we're doing this to get out of paying - which, if we're honest, you send me a salad to my house with no salad dressing, I AM going to ask for a refund. I'm not a rabbit, nor do I have a rabbit to feed it to. At the end of the day, I'm not trying to rant - but seriously, I've been eating at Metro Diners for nearly 30 years, and have done so in numerous states at this point. I love the restaurant, but this location just seems helplessly lost. If you're going to eat here, do it in person - so at least you can send someone to fetch whatever they don't bring. I wouldn't order delivery from here unless my goal was just to not eat dinner... like a new fad diet... Anyways, hate to make people look bad, but their QC has been so bad that it has made US look like the bad ones. That's a new low that I didn't even realize was possible. If I'm going to be embarrassed, they should share in that with me.

Thinking it was a hidden gem because we had never heard of it, we gave it a try. Sadly, it wasn't all we expected it to be. Once we found it hidden in the back of a small shopping center in World Golf Village, we went inside to an empty restaurant at what should've been a bustling lunchtime crowd. The restaurant had all of two employees working. The cashier/waitress asked us to seat ourselves and she brought us the menus. 5, yes FIVE, different things that we attempted to order were out of stock! How do you run a restaurant when 5 staple items are out of stock.... Hamburger patties, bacon, onion rings, and all fountain drinks including coke & dr. Pepper???? It quickly became obvious why the entire restaurant was empty! After we made alternative choices from the menu and received our meals, the waitress spent the entire time we were in her presence talking in the phone and to someone who seemed to be a regular patron that had come in after us to pick up a to-go order. I heard her say that 'today is my last day because I'm moving.' After hearing that, it made sense as to why she never came back to our table to see if we needed anything. We even had to request she bring our check so that we could pay the bill and leave. She was 'too busy' to notice we were finished & waiting.... The food that we got wasn't horrible.... Too bad the service wasn't that great. We most certainly did NOT receive a good first impression and likely won't give it a second try!
