The Job's Peak BLT comes on soft sourdough with bacon, avocado, sunflower seeds, garlic aioli, tomato, havarti, and mixed greens. Everything was fresh, the avocado was ripe, the bacon stayed crisp, and the sandwich held up well for take-out. The side salad of mixed greens with strawberries and sunflower seeds was a clean, bright companion. Their iced tea is outstanding; passion-flower flavor and is made consistently well which brings a real highlight with the meal. The service is always amazing here. Abby-Jo and her team are always rock-stars! Solid local lunch that travels well. Will order again along with my other personal favorites like "THE Sandwich", "The Marcello", and the vegetarian "Iron Mike" made in a wrap and served with their Marion Berry dressing. We were on a roadtrip and passing through, this place had nice healthy options so we stopped in! We had our pups with us so we sat on their little tables outside. We were so intrigued by the veggie sandwich with peanut butter (forgetting the name now, sigh) so we split that and also had the Thai chicken peanut wrap that comes with chips and a side of fruit. Wow! So great! Also not pictured was a lemon cake we had to give a try. Everything was very fresh and delicious. What I will not soon forget was the impeccable service! We didn't have time to feed our dogs breakfast before hitting the road and asked if we could purchase some chicken breast. Well she brought it over on the house and gave them a water dish straight away! She also came by every 10-15 mins or so to refill water and check on us even though it was packed inside! I regret not having photos of my food, but I assure you the sandwich that I got was built well, as in, it had a decent amount of inclusions to satisfy your hunger. I actually couldn't eat the 2nd half. I do think, however, that they are kind of pricey considering that the price doesn't include a bag of chips and drink. I got their Turkey Cran $14.50 - white bread with turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, onions and sprouts. It does come with a small side salad and vinaigrette. The sandwich tasted pretty good and was built and sliced so neatly that it was very easy to eat. I'm the kind of person who appreciates a well made sandwich where as soon as you bite in, the inclusions don't slide out the sides of the bread and you're left eating your now deconstructed sandwich with a fork. The most pleasant surprise was their Sweet Potato Curry Soup. Wow! I was not expecting it to taste as good as it was. Honestly, this was the star of the show. In addition, I tried their lemon cake. This was also delicious. Moist light cake with layers of bright lemon curd and whipped cream. Not sure if they make it in-house or of they out source their desserts. The flavor packed a punch. All these items with no drink came to over $30. A pretty expensive lunch for 1 person. Albeit, I could have skipped the dessert and soup. I do intend to be back in the future to try their other items. BTW - they are only open for 3 hours (11a-2p) and closed on weekends Lol! Every time I drive up the 395 to Gardnerville, this place is a must. I crave one of their hearty, zesty, and delicious sandwiches as soon as I arrive. A sweet little café which puts a lot of love into its offerings. Our soups, salads, and sandwiches were delicious: fresh ingredients, high quality, generous portions. Only one tiny downside: the sandwich bread, while tasty and perfectly toasted, became a little gummy after a chew or two -- so that each in our party of three had a little difficulty swallowing it. Just a high gluten bread. One soup could've used a little less sugar; the other a lot less salt. We wished there had been a traditional dessert available, but only one choice: a chocolate ganache cake. A little heavy after a solid lunch on a hot day, we thought, so we skipped that. The servers were all very nice and efficient. The café is charming in a kind of Cracker Barrel way, decor-wise. We appreciated the clear connection the restaurant has with the community; we appreciated two (clean!) unisex restrooms. Overall an excellent experience. read more

I felt like I was on a quest to find Cafe Girasole. I pulled up the Yelp app to try to find something in the area of which was unfamiliar to me. I found Cafe Girasole's menu to have a variety of Panini's which grabbed my attention since I was on a time constraint. To actually find the place, after placing it in my phone with driving directions felt like a mission impossible. I kept getting directed to the wrong side of the street and was an area under construction so I think I looped it a good 2-3 times then realized it was on the opposite side of the street. I parked on the side since I was just thankful to find the place. As soon as I walked in I was colliding with wait staff trying to figure out how to order to go and was guided to a small line of people at a window. I placed my order of Cheese Louise- which had Turkey, Pesto, Provolone. I was told the order will be brought to me when it's ready. I found some seating by the door and just took a breather from a busy Friday workday. As I took in my surroundings I found this place to remind me of something out of a Hallmark movie (I forget if this is one of the towns in which there was an actual Christmas movie filmed). But the guests seated at tables were sitting and visiting as if there was all the time in the world which I found to be refreshing. I was in a hurry myself so having had waited 20 minutes for a sandwich to go was puzzling. But the sandwich was tasty, it costs approximately $18 with a drink and tip. But being in this area reminded me of how cute they make it for the holidays. I think this place is great if you have extra time to hang and wait around but as for someone that was in a hurry that was not the case. read more

We stopped at this super cute cafe in Gardinerville on our way from Bishop to Reno a couple of weeks ago. It was a great choice. They were able to seat us right away (Friday at around 130pm) and the service was friendly and prompt. The restrooms were very clean, a big deal in my book. I had the Thai wrap with chicken and my husband had a salad with curry chicken added. We both loved our meals. Everything was so fresh and the combination of flavors was just right.
