Came here after backpacking up at Highland Lakes. Had the turmeric latte and it had a lot of spice in it and tasted best hot. Had a delicious sandwich. We also did a vanilla latte and that was delicious. I did get the kava can drink and was not really impressed. But I can at least say I tried it. It didn't make me feel any special way as advertised. But the food was good and I'd stop here for a quick lunch!

    Breakfast sandwich on everything bagel

Wow!!! Best breakfast sandwich I've had - maybe ever?! And it was huge. Every bite was delicious. I shared some of the bacon with the pups and they were happy, too. I also got the Green Cloud to drink and it was pure yum. We're lucky to have this gem of a cafe in Markleeville

This is a cute spot in a beautiful village. The staff are hard-working and friendly, and the coffee is tasty. Most of the food is bagels and sandwiches, and if you can't eat wheat like me, the one drawback is that the only food-like option is to select from a range of admittedly delicious smoothies.

    Bagel sandwich

The best Reuben my mom and I have had. Their bagel sandwiches are also wonderful and very fresh. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Will def be back!

The food is really expensive and very sub par. The banana nut biscuit was so heavy my stomach ached for 3 days.

Cute little cafe. Limited menu. Split a Grovers Hot Pastrami Ruben with hubby. Plenty of lean pastrami, cheese and kraut.

Cons: no curtains. They finally brought us one and we used a sheet for the other slider. The oven had grease all over the bottom so it smoked the cabin out. The railing is not to code. Just a 2x4 across it. My little old dog fell off the deck. So if you have a child I would recommend a different cabin. My dog is sore but she is okay.

I'm not staying overnight at the lodge, but coming here to enjoy the nice restaurant they have here and the outdoor dining. I hear they have a real trained chef here doing some great dinners. I'll have to try that sometime. It's super relaxing here, though a bit of a drive from South Lake Tahoe. This is more on the rustic side, rather than the resort side of things. The food here is basic lunch items like salads and burgers and sandwiches and of course french fries! Prices are reasonable considering you're way out in the middle of nowhere and someone has to pay to get all the supplies out here. We started with some Parmesan fries... very nice with a beer! My friend had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and I had a big salad. Both were made properly and tasted great sitting outside enjoying the quiet outdoors. After lunch we went for a walk down to the lake ... just beautiful! I'll review the lodging if I ever stay here.

I entered and sat at the bar because the place was busy and it was a 20 minute wait. I ordered the special. The appetizer was Seared Scallops with a coconut cream polenta. The scallops were done right seared on both sides and the polenta was creamy and full of flavor. Then came the Spaghetti Bolognese which I was looking forward to. It looked appealing but once I tried it the flavor was not what I expected. It was a meat sauce but not a traditional bolognese. It had a different flavor with no tomatoes I think it was mainly wine based. Unfortunately I was expecting a traditional bolognese and it threw me off. And I asked for bread and they didn't have any. I took the dessert home a yellow cake with cream and a raspberry sauce. It was very good. The main thing I'm disappointed with is the Spaghetti Bolognese being not a traditional bolognese. I have eating breakfast here before and it was quite good.

Waitress were super helpful, kind and friendly. They were joking back and forth with us and in good spirits. Moe was very hospitable and joked right along with us. Another girl and I ordered a cold brew coffee, a couple other girls added that to their breakfast because it was so delicious and MASSIVE. All the portion sizes were also MASSIVE. I had the Traditional Eggs benedict. I have no complaints about the flavor, presentation or accompanying fruit cup. The sauce was the perfect portion for the meal and my food wasn't swimming in sauce. My one critique is that my eggs were a little too well done. I don't like my yolks completely runny, but these had absolutely no run to them. (see accompanying picture). If/when I go back, I'll definitely ask if that is standard and if so, to undercook them a bit so there's a little run to the yolk. Other than that minor detail this plaice is still 10/10. It's worth the drive out of Reno for this little gem tucked right off the main highway/street in Minden/Gardnerville.

The place itself is quite small with limited parking, but everyone is nice and kind and they have little buzzers to notify you when your table is ready :) I got the French toast with strawberries and oh my goodness it was DELICIOUS. The French toast was a perfect blend of fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The bread itself was amazing. I opted in for some fresh strawberries, but you can get other fruit or a fruit syrup as well. The French toast also comes with warm maple syrup, and I can attest it was definitely warm. It made the whole eating experience feel luxurious, and I had a delightful time eating it all up.
