Our dining divas group went here for our monthly dinner. We were seated on the other side which is larger for a big group. I started the group out with fish pakora which everyone loved. Nobody in the group had ever tried it. It's definitely great as an appetizer. It's my favorite pakora by far. The Indian vodka cocktail had some kick to it. It was very unique with Indian spices. It's great but you can only drink one. My tandoori platter also had fish pakora on it along with tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka and malai chicken. I thought the tandoori chicken was a little dry but still tasty. The only disappointment was they couldn't split the bill but many places don't like doing it which I understand. I was in town for work and ordered delivery shortly after arriving at my hotel in the evening. I ordered Chicken Sag, I'm used to it being spelled Saag, but potato patawtoe. There is not a heat scale to choose from on Uber Eats just a box "make it spicy" which I clicked. I added rice and an order of plain naan. The Sag was alright. If you read my reviews I have reviewed Saag from a few different places in the last year or so. I enjoyed it, but it is not up there with my favorites, in fact it is towards the bottom. Flavors were a bit muddy, nothing really popped, and being the "spicy" version I was under impressed with the spice level. I wouldn't normally worry too much about the rice but this was easily the worst rice I've ever had at an indian restaurant. Usually rice at Indian restaurants is exceptional, often with some additional seasonings and spices mixed in with perfectly cooked basmati. This was mushy, clumped up very plain rice that I think (but I'm not certain) was not basmati. It cost several dollars to boot, not included with the entree. What it lacked in quality it made up for in volume. Not a trade off I prefer, but that's how it was. I think I got a good four cups worth of cooked rice. The naan was good. Contrary to the rice situation it was a pretty small amount of naan, I'd say half a normal piece. read more

This spot came in handy as I arrived to Milwaukee after a long day, and at a hotel with no room service. Enter delivery right to my room of some tasty Indian food from this spot! One highlight here was the veggie samosa. It was so flavorful and loaded with potatoes. The naan was actually not my favorite; different texture than I usually see, and not a lot of flavor. I went basic and got the chicken tikka masala which was pretty good. The chicken was very tender and the sauce had a nice and mild flavor. More of a commentary for the delivery app, but I would loved the option to kick the spiciness up a notch. Tonight as usual, the food here was tasty and ample. The five of us ordered four drinks, five entrées, and two sides. Our energetic server took our order without writing anything down (usually not the best move in a very busy restaurant on an exceptionally busy night). There was only a short wait for three of our four drinks to be delivered. However, it took two requests to get the fourth drink and some water. The entrées were delivered promptly, but only one side arrived. Again, a long wait and another reminder. Finally, even though there was a wait for tables, it took another 10 minutes to get a bill. Being away from my family from Diwali meant I had to get my Indian food fix from Cafe India, which was the right move. We got a takeout order of the veg appetizer platter, the gobi Manchurian app, and an order of malai kofta that came with a side of rice. Our food was ready by the time we got there. The restaurant was decorated for Diwali which was a beautiful touch. The staff was so nice and even threw in some traditional sweets for Diwali. The food is always great here and I have never been disappointed. The samosas were big and the dough was thick and both crispy and chewy. They didn't skimp on the filling, which was also very good. Other things in the appetizer platter included onion pakoras and aloo tikki served with an imli (tamarind) and a green chutney. Everything took me back home! We got both the gobi manchurian and the malai kofta at a medium spice level, which was appropriately spiced for our palates. The gobi comes with large chunks of onions and green bell peppers. While not authentic, it's one of my favorite dishes from Indian restaurants and cafe India does it right. The malai kofta is also one of the best in the city. The koftas are soft and the gravy is so creamy and rich, it'll have you licking your fingers clean! read more

Stopped in with a couple friends got seated right away we ordered the non-veg platter and Bowl puri chat, the fish and chicken were paired nicely with the dipping sauces. And the crunchy puffed rice was so refreshing with all the vegetables. My friends and I all ordered curry. I ordered the chicken tikka masala in medium and it was not spicy at all really delicious and tomatoey flavor. My friends ordered the vindaloo curry and the Malabar curry and both were spicy but delicious. The Naan assortment basket came with the garlic naan, plain naan, and the onion one. They were all so good I couldn't pick a favorite. Servers were nice and knowledgeable definitely recommend it's my new favorite Indian place. This is my new favorite place. I will be going to this place any time I'm in Milwaukee area. they do catering, so I am planning to have them for my upcoming events. Hospitality's is amazing Seating is very spacious. Servers are very friendly and nice and knowledgeable I food is marvelous. finger, licking good, and they will modify the dishes as you want. They can also make some of the non veg dishes as vegetarian using the similar gravy. my throat was a little scratchy that day, so I asked for masala chai and server made it herself for me. I recently ordered delivery from Cafe India and don't know how I haven't been here sooner. I was feeling under the weather and in no mood to cook and Cafe India came in clutch. I ordered their chicken tikka masala with an order of rice as well as their aloo gobhi with an order of rice--both to share with my husband. Pro-tip: for two people, one order of rice is plenty. The chicken tikka was just the right amount of creamy and warm spicy heat. The aloo gobhi (cauliflower and potatoes in tomato and onion masala) was equally delicious. The two dishes paired well together as we both had a bit of each. There was enough that my husband enjoyed for lunch the next day. For vibrant, rich, and delicious Indian food--look no further. The ambiance here is good, but a recent visit included watery food and rude service. When we arrived the restaurant was locked well past its opening time, so we had to knock. Then, although there were only three tables taken and at least five servers, we had to wait a long time to order and an even longer time to pay. Since my friend had a flight to catch, I finally approached our waitress who said curtly, "Two minutes!" She then continued her social conversation with the other servers for *much* longer than two minutes. By the time we finally got out of there we had to rush to make the flight. The curries have become inconsistent. We ordered shahi paneer and tandoori roti on our last order and everything was very bland. The shahi paneer tasted like warm tomato water. I ended up having to add my own spices to the dish. Additionally, the container was stuffed with giant cubes of paneer to the point that there was little curry in the container. Lastly, there were very few raisins and cashews. I've been ordering from Cafe India for years and have had some great food from the restaurant. I hope these more recent issues improve. read more

Here's the thing, I personally found Bollywood Grill in downtown Milwaukee when I moved here and that has been my go to Indian spot ever since. In those past few years I've heard friends rave about Cafe India. We've intended to try it, but considering we don't make it out to bay view often, we just had never gotten the chance. Cue Monday night. We wanted to go out for Indian food to celebrate Diwali but Bollywood was closed, so we decided to venture over to bay view to give Cafe India a shot. We were seated immediately and ordered papad, naan, pakora, tandoor paneer tikka, and tandoor chicken. The papad came out and was fried and delicious, with a really great green chutney. The red chutney was good, but a bit too sweet for my taste. We then tried the pakora which were plentiful and delicious. Our meals came out in heaping piles. The chicken was delicious, but the marinade on the paneer wasn't my favorite. Still good, but not exactly what I was looking for. Finally, the naan basket was massive and fresh. Service was great, the waitress was attentive and I enjoyed that they gave everyone a Diwali treat. Overall, I understand the hype and I will definitely be back. Was recommended this place by a friend. We came for a late lunch and they were still relatively busy. I tried the masala tea which I thought was going to be iced but it was hot. It was definitely different but not in a bad way. I like to try new things. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer. It wasn't AS spicy as it looks but it was delicious! I could have had it with a side of rice as my entire meal. For our lunch we ordered the buttered chicken and it was so good. We had regular and garlic naan with it. The garlic naan didn't taste any different to me then the regular naan. If this place was closer to where I lived I would be ordering out all of the time. I would definitely go back. Next time we will get the naan bread because we saw it on the table next to us and we were sorry we didn't get some. It looked so good. That means we have to come back. I'll been craving Indian food and we were in the area and saw the sign, so I thought we'd give it a try. Nicer ambience inside than I expected and the servers were extremely pleasant. My wife asked the server what she suggested and she said the Gobi Manchurian appetizer (spicy cauliflower) was her favorite, and the special Malai Tiika Chicken was excellent, so we ordered those, along with Chicken Vindaloo and an order of garlic Naan. The cauliflower was about a 6 on a scale of 10, but delicious. Steeped in a spicy sauce with onions and green pepper. The chicken came out on a sizzling platter and had an excellent, lightly spicy, flavor and a creamy yogurt sauce on the side. The Vindaloo was amazing but very spicy, 8 of 10; I was warned. I had to stop after about 1/3 and drank a lot of water, but it was worth it. The garlic Naan was delicious and a great compliment to the food. We were full and still took home healthy portions of the chicken, Vindaloo and Naan. Very pleased, and now I know where to go the next time I'm craving Indian. read more
