    Chili Chicken

While shopping in the area we got this recommendation and we are so glad we checked it out. It has an Asian menu with Indian, Nepalese, and Chinese options. We had Indian and Nepalese. The Nepalese vegetarian thali was so delicious, specifically the lentil/bean dish. It is so simple but flavorful and great on top of the rice we ate it so quick. The chicken biryani and sauce were great as well. The service was good but they seemed to have a lot online orders and are a big takeout place for people in the area. The servers were definitely working very hard and were friendly to us and other patrons. It's a non-assuming dining area in a strip mall with some great Nepalese dishes which is hard to find the area. I know we will be back soon!

My mom and I have had Everest Cafe on our list for a while, as we really like Himalayan food. We stopped in one day for a late lunch recently. There were only two other customers and one staff person. Service was good. Our waitress was very unobtrusive. The decor is fairly old school and a little generic, but not objectionable. I had steamed vegetable momos, which are a weakness of mine. They were good. The sauce was not what I was accustomed too, being neither like Himal Chuli in Madison nor the cheel's, but it was good and fresh tasting. Mom tried the deep fried pork version which was stuffed with pork. She enjoyed them and BF enjoyed her leftover dumplings. She also ordered sesame chicken from the Chinese menu. She liked it, but it was a huge portion and heavily sauced, We will go back I think, when we need a momocha fix. Solid option.

beef lo mein and chicken fried rice w egg roll

i was excited to eat here because of the wonderful reviews but i ended up disappointed! we came on a saturday around 2 because of their chinese food menu special they do. the egg drop soup was good! very warming and made perfectly. the crab rangoons were also pretty good too! nice and crunchy with a creamy filling. the beef lo mein was decent. meat was flavorful and the noodles had a grilled taste to them. chicken fried rice was pretty plain. didnt have much flavor and i would have definitely ate more if it had thst same grilled flavor as the lo mein. the eggroll on the side was pretty tasty too! the tandoor chicken was just alright. the flavor was there but the chicken wasnt juicy, a bit on the dry side actually. the chicken tikka was the same, great flavors but the chicken was dry and almost like it got heated up? idk. the dumplings were underwhelming. the wrapping was really soggy probably because it was steamed but the way it fell apart so easily made me grossed out. the filling itself was tasty, i was just over it at the point. naan was great! fluffy and buttery. the staff was really nice and the place was decorated great! just wish the food was a bit better.

I came to Everest, which is located in the Royal Garden Restaurant located in the plaza next to the Neroli Spa; the plaza is right next to the Bayshore Mall, not far from kohls and it has its own parking lot. If you want the Nepalese food, they have a separate menu for that. I am not big on Chinese food, however The Chinese food menu looked really good too and I will 100% be back to try it as well. I was really intrigued to try Nepalese food! I cannot speak to the authenticity because this is my first time trying, but my close friends, who were with me stated that it was on point. Honestly, it seemed truly authentic, but more importantly (maybe), the food was absolutely delicious. You HAVE to get the Momo; no cap. Seriously some of THE best dumplings I've had in this area. The sauce pairing is light, but so flavorful! It's a nice pairing. We ordered the Nepali Thali non-vegetarian; the chicken was so tender! The Daal as well and I truly enjoyed it. You will not be disappointed coming here!! And the people who run it are so incredibly friendly. Please give it a try and keep this gem up and running!!

Remember, ask for the secret menu.

This is really cool, an authentic Nepalese restaurant hidden in a Chinese restaurant. A Nepalese family bought out a Chinese restaurant, kept the old menu, but will offer up choices from their homeland if asked. Get the momos and curry.

Daal, Kukhura-ko Masu ,Steamed White Rice and a thick cold tomato-like sauce

I went here with a family member on vacation after I noticed it being "Nepalese" food, of which I've never tried. I ordered the Non-Vegetarian combination plate, which includes white rice, daal, and Kukhura-Ko Masu and a thick, viscous Tomato-like sauce. The person I went with ordered the Mango Lassi and the Takari. The portions were large, and the food was flavorful and filling. The service was good, the woman who took our orders was open to questions about the food. Finally, the ambiance. It felt a little old-school, the type of ambience you'd see in an older run-down Chinese restaurant (of which Everest Cafe is run out of), but that did not take away from the tastiness of the food! Totally recommend if you like Nepalese food/want to try it

    Jhol momo!

The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.

HOT POT!! It's fun, you dunk the meats into the broth. If you like it spicy the hot side has some zing!!

Granted, it was because of my Chase CC that we got a prime time…read morereservation and the meal was essentially free due to Open Table credit, but honestly, we were so happy with our experience. I completely agree that this isn't authentic chinese food, but approachable fusion that tries to keep it truthful to the flavors and presentation. The highlight of the meal was the peking duck, which they only have about 2 orders of a night. We snagged it immediately when we sat down and it can easily feed 4 people with the sides. The duck was juicy and cut into thick pieces, so it was more of a steak rather than a bao style that I am used to. Nevertheless, it was delicious and even warmed up well the next day. The green onion wraps were...strange in my opinion. They fell apart easily and didn't have the best flavor that complemented the duck. Overall, I would come back for the duck itself, but everything else was average or extra salty. Service was great and the staff are very attentive. Happy eating!

Came for dinner to use my Chase Sapphire dining benefit at Dan Dan in the Historic Third Ward…read more Here's my honest take. The vibe: It was packed at 7:15 PM on a Sunday, and they held firmly to our reservation time--which is understandable given the crowd. We took a nice stroll while waiting, so no harm done. Once seated, the service was excellent--attentive, prompt, and professional. The food: This is clearly high-end Americanized Chinese food, not authentic regional cuisine. If you go in expecting that, you'll have a better experience. The menu reads like a "greatest hits" collection--familiar dishes done with nicer ingredients and presentation. What worked well: Smashed Cucumber - A strong start. The cilantro and bean sprouts were exceptionally fresh, and the peanut finish added nice depth, though the sauce leaned a bit salty for my taste. Service and atmosphere - polished and efficient. What fell short for me: Wonton Soup - The wrappers were thicker than I prefer; I like a more delicate, translucent skin. The leek-based broth was pleasant, though. Salt & Pepper Cod - The seasoning was good, but the cod pieces were too thick, so the center remained bland. Halving the thickness would improve the texture. Mongolian Beef - Tender meat, but I wanted thicker cuts and larger onion pieces for more bite. It leaned a bit soggy for my preference. Rice Cake with Pork Belly - Pork belly was well-executed, but too many rice cakes overwhelmed the dish. The flavor leaned Korean (almost kimchi-like), which felt like a departure from the rest of the menu. Beef Chow Fun - Felt repetitive, using the same thin-sliced beef and bean sprouts as other dishes. I'd prefer charred broad rice noodlesthat are thin. These rice sticks were wide and thick,so like the cod, the center of the rice sticks were bland. I also preferred more eggs in this dish for variety. The overall pattern: Many dishes share similar ingredients and sauce profiles, which makes sense for a busy kitchen but does reduce variety across the meal. Bottom line: If you're looking for authentic, nuanced Chinese cooking, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want a polished, upscale version of familiar Chinese-American favorites in a great location, with reliable service, Dan Dan delivers that well. I personally wouldn't return, but I can see why it's popular--especially for the crowd that wants comfort food in a nicer setting.

We were going to be in Brillion and I knew I'd be busy unloading groceries and definitely not in the mood to cook. My call was answered immediately by a pleasant easy-to-understand young person. While rather disappointed to learn that Egg Fu Yung is no longer available (not ordered often enough, alas), we ordered our standby meal of Crab Rangoon, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Moo Goo Gai Pan. Our order was ready before 15 minutes elapsed and Hunan accepts credit cards. The crab rangoons were right on top of the carefully packaged bag so we had to try those immediately. Fantastic! Full of the cream cheese mixture and crispy, notably NOT overcooked to the point of being almost burned. While no one, including Hunan, seems to include the green pepper and pineapple chinks once a part of the sweet sour sauce, the deep fried park was notable for its size, flavor, and the delicate batter. So often one must look for the meat inside of heavy breading. It was excellent and the portion generous and reasonably priced. My Moo Goo Gai Pan was superb: a generous portion of chicken, pea pods, carrots, white onions, and superlatively fresh quartered mushrooms in an outstandingly flavorful white sauce. I highly recommend Hunan's of Brillion, Wisconsin. Excellent food, friendly staff, generous portions, and reasonable prices are an unbeatable combination. Please note that it is a carryout/takeout restaurant only. Brillion is a nice little city with stores and parks that seem to be worth exploring so perhaps someday we'll find a nearby park in which to eat our wonderful Chinese meal.
