Turns out we had been here before and it was awesome. We were so glad to be back. There is a wonderful mix of food and pastries and drinks. Some things you may never have seen before or had. It is clean, spacious with a cafe and outside vibe without being outside. Definitely a hidden gem. Everything we had was delicious but the chocolate banana bread pudding with ice cream for dessert was just insane. Service is friendly and it a great spot for small groups. Aesthetic Brunch Without the Crazy Wait Came here for brunch on a Saturday and honestly loved it. I expected it to be packed, but there was barely any wait, which already made the experience better. The place is super aesthetic, really nice to sit and enjoy a slow brunch. Service was super friendly and welcoming. The Eggs Benedict Florentine is a must order. It comes with potatoes on the side and everything was really good. Prices are actually really good for how the place looks. I thought it was going to be more on the expensive side, but it's super reasonable. Only downside is parking, not a lot of spots, but if you look around you'll find something. The outside area was not open but looked beautiful enough that a private party should have it booked every weekend. The food arrived correctly and we didn't have a long wait. A local friend recommended Cafe Landwer Hallandale Beach during a recent trip, and it couldn't have been more convenient--just an easy walk from our Airbnb, no car needed. What started as a "let's try it once" spot quickly turned into our go-to. It was so good we ended up going back all three mornings we were in Hallandale. The food is outstanding across the board. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We even picked up some takeaway sides one day to bring to an afternoon cookout with friends, which were just as well received there. The standout for me was Landwer's Famous Breakfast--come hungry. It's a generous, well-rounded plate, and I was still working through the leftovers for the next couple of days. Always a good sign. Service was consistently solid despite how busy it gets, and the overall vibe is bright, energetic, and welcoming--exactly what you want to start your day. Bonus discovery: they have multiple locations beyond Florida, including three in the Boston area (where we live), which we somehow never knew about. With several locations across the U.S., this is now firmly on my radar for future trips. And if you ever happen to find yourself in Israel, that's where it all started--and there are plenty of locations there as well. Cafe Landwer was different a great find. I went with the family and we all enjoyed the food. The staff was friendly and sat us right away. Definitely recommend sitting indoors with this heat. I truly can't say enough good things about Cafe Landwer. We visited the Boca Raton location after a friend recommended their breakfast, but we ended up going for dinner and wow, I'm so glad we did. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, and everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was amazing warm, lively, and such a great vibe. Our server Ryan was very attentive from the start and made excellent recommendations that we were genuinely happy with the entire night. The food came out quickly, was cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. I ordered the chicken shawarma with a fattoush salad and absolutely loved it so fresh and well-seasoned. My husband got the schnitzel sandwich on their house made challah bread, which was also incredible. You can really tell they bake all of their bread in-house... I promise it makes such a difference. I really wanted to give this restaurant a 5 because I loved everything else about it but here is why I did not. My family came here for brunch excited to try their dishes. We were seated right away even though it already looked to be pretty busy. Our waiter brought us water and juice for the kids. He gave great descriptions of the dishes and took our order. It was a pretty fun atmosphere and we enjoyed the ambience. The food came out at two different times. My husband, daughter and son got their dishes however it took mine about 15 minutes extra to come out. My family was already about half way through their plates by the time I got mine. My dish had great flavors but it hurt my jaw to chew the chicken. I'm not sure if it was reheated from the day before or the chef left it cooking for too long but it was not enjoyable. You can tell from the picture that the chicken was overcooked. The rest of my family loved their plates. The short rib was amazing! The meat was tender and had a slight sweet taste which I really enjoyed. Towards the end of our meal the restaurant was more busy and the service provided was clearly affected. It took an extremely long time to close out our tap and get two coffees to go. I did really enjoy the coffees too so it's a shame that the chicken shawarma just really didn't meet expectations. read more

Beautiful bright restaurant with lots of big windows, great service, and GREAT FOOD, highly recommend checking this little gem out in Hallandale. The Shakshuka and the Butgernut Squash Ravioli were both absolutely delicious. Great selection of cocktails and wines as well. We tried the Arak with Nana (mint) and enjoyed two glasses of Rose wine from the Negev Desert in Israel and both were absolutely delicious. The wine especially was very good, it was cold and refreshing, and just perfect with the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Highly recommend! I had a lovely lunch here. I was treating a friend to a belated birthday meal and this was the place she selected of the options I had given her. I'd been to their restaurant in Boca Raton and liked it. This venue -- in what appears to be a cottage like house was actually more enjoyable and charming -- with table service and an upscale ambiance. The location is a bit off the beaten path. On the east side next to the railroad tracks on the road that runs north and parallel to Dixie Highway. They have valet parking for $5 which is rather a rip off. They should offer free parking. I actually parked parallel to the fence alongside the street in one of the few non-valet places. We shared a couple items as portions are large. We started with the halloumi salad (we asked for extra dressing). This was a mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, radishes, and olives, mixed with romaine lettuce. On top were six cubes of lightly fried cubes of halloumi cheese. The dressing was a light lemon base. We also had some very creamy hummus topped with chicken shawarma. There was supposed to be more onions mixed in it too, but they were minimal and I didn't really miss them. The hummus was sprinkled with olive oil, paprika, and fresh parsley. It came with a piece of thick round pita bread on the side. The salad and hummus were a good combo together. I requested some sumac and I added this spice to everything. The meal felt like we were eating "healthy". And for the birthday girl, we had to also have a dessert. Thank you to our server who presented a slice of key lime with a lit candle and sang happy birthday! The key lime was heavier in texture -- like a cheesecake base -- but it was still pretty good. Was it worth $13? Probably not, but it was a special celebration. Our meal with tip was quite pricey. More like what you'd expect in Aventura or Boca, but the quantity and quality were there. This is a great spot for good light food and good vibes. I stopped by on a rainy day for brunch and took advantage of the valet for closer parking. Only $5 and given the limited parking, seemed very worth it. The food was flavorful and I was pleasantly surprised how good their matcha was (not always easy to find a place that does it right). My server gave great recommendations based on what I was in the mood for. The only minor thing is I would've liked the croissant sandwich to be served warmer but it was still good nonetheless. After those spots are filled, they have valet but you will have to pay. Once you walk in, there is a main dining area and a patio area. The patio is enclosed and has air conditioning and is covered. I love the color choice. It fits the menu. Service: My friend and I went early when they first opened so we were allowed to sit anywhere. The servers are great and check on you just enough like if we needed refills for our coffee. When more ppl came in, it was nice one of the servers noticed the child of their table dropped her toy and blanket and picked it up bc the parents hadn't noticed. Food: They give you a lot! When I received my food, everything was cold.Our waitress was Camila L. I asked her to warmed it up. They warmed up the kebab but left potatoes cold and saggy. The potatoes were disgusting, kebab was dry. I bite it once and spited it back. I wanted to get a salad or Anything else instead, I was extremely hungry. But Camila didn't come to our table for 32 minutes! Yes, I counted because my stomach was eating itself. We needed more water, we needed salt, napkins, 1 set of silverware, more cocktails. She didn't come to the table even once. And remember, the restaurant was empty. When she finally appeared, everything already ate and I had to order UberEats. She said: I see you didn't like it, you want to order something else? I told her yes, I would, but you did check the table for over 30 minutes and I didn't have a chance. She said "hmm" that's it. The humus alone is better than most, but with the added mushrooms it's "mmm...mmm" good (to borrow a commercial phrase). The beef burger on pretzel bun with lettuce tomato and pickles pickle slices was surprisingly great and it was an extra added bonus that they offered well done sweet potato fries. My son had an iced, whipped lemonade with fresh mint , so it was green and his friend had a fresh mint leaf tea served with the pot. They also had a tasty skewered beef and lamb served with herbal salad topped with pomegranate seeds, a piece of grilled onion and broccolini. Unfortunately, even though their broccolini is good, it was the only available veggie side besides potatoes. This is a hidden gem and totally worth hunting for it. If you can, dine on the patio, it's got such a lovely ambiance. The wait staff is well sized and very attentive, which meant that the service is efficient and I've never waited long for a table- even for a Sunday morning breakfast. I've had the "breakfast" but this time tried the Quinoa Lebanese salad. I added a soft boiled egg which was the perfect accompaniment. The salad was fresh and healthy with a lemon dressing. I honestly don't think that it is fair to even name this place the same as my beloved cafe Landwer in Israel. I'm health-conscious, and whenever I order anything fruit-based--like juice or a smoothie--I always ask for it to come before the food. I even reminded them, but my drink arrived much later, after the food was already on the table. That meant I had to wait, and by the time I could actually start eating, my eggs were cold. On top of that, the toasted bread only came about 10 minutes later, at which point I had already lost my appetite for this breakfast. Their signature "famous breakfast," which they highlight in the menu, was a major disappointment. The granola with fruit was soggy, the avocado was watery, the bread was dry, and the eggs were undercooked. Even my husband, who usually enjoys fruit with granola, didn't like it. When it was finally time to leave, it was difficult to even get the server's attention to bring the check. And despite the disappointing experience, they still had the courtesy to charge us for the eggs and piece of bread we managed to eat, simply because I was already hungry and had no choice but to eat something. After meal order was taken and delivered we ate and drank and a couple of servers removed plates politely but nobody followed up afterwards to see if we wanted more or how our meal was, again had to force eye contact and still watched the hostess be so absorbed in the origination of the workstation that she didn't see me trying to get her attention, our waitress was working a table in other areas of the restaurant so after having our plates politely removed we sat there ignored for 17 minutes, water empty, coffee empty just sat there so we could pay our tab and go. read more

The menu is varied with different choices from one's everyday eating. Each dish is made fresh and their juices are amazing "Healthy". I had no idea it was located on the side of Dixie highway until I put the directions in google maps, and there it was.. in a very unassuming spot.. what a hidden gem! The restaurant was bustling and lively. The interior was so cute and the outdoor patio area was large with a nice, full bar. The menu was pretty vast, with a ton of options. We decided to share a few things. We ordered the chicken schnitzel, a side salad and Halumi fries. The food was excellent and very fresh. The table next to ours had ordered what appeared to be beautiful humus plate and we were a little envious, but too full to eat more. Mid-afternoon on a Friday in Miami and I'm on the hunt for pancakes and eggs. I was directed to an adorable-looking spot in Hollywood. I arrive, get out of my car, mouth watering, and the spot is shut-down. I am disgusted but undaunted, I want what I want, when I want it. The next spot Yelp directs me to is Landwer's. I cross town and am sent through three different neighborhoods. I will not stop, I cannot stop. Finally, after I traversed the globe (no thank you, Android Auto), out of the chilly gloom is a bright pop of color. I pull up to the pink building and am very curious. I walk past what looks like a short corridor to a courtyard, one door and wait . . . Is that a hybrid Seagrape tree, weird? I open another door and oh, how pleasant! I'm immediately greeted (I later learn her name is Nicole) and selected a table at the end of a long banquette, facing what is indeed, an outdoor courtyard. At this odd hour, around 4p.m., there are a few other diners, nicely dressed. I am given two menus . . . DINNER, oh no! Where is she, no, this can't be! I tell the young lady my pancake and eggs dilemma, and breakfast "ended" at 3p.m. My heart breaks. She must have heard it, because as I gather my things and walk towards the door, she offers to ask if the owner will provide for this hungry, weary traveler. She returns seconds later and, YES, no need to travel further! I almost burst into tears. I want what I want, when I want it. I see a slim, short sphere of energy moving and surmise this woman is the owner. (I love restaurants with female ownership and/or chefs, they're just different.) Moments later a beautiful latte appears and moments later a tray of heaven. Two of the lightest, most fluffy pancakes in a small cast iron skillet, two perfect over easy eggs, a ton of turkey bacon, syrup, chocolate, whipped cream and a fresh fruit salad. I inhaled it and am satisfied. Landwer's has earned a customer for life. It's so refreshing in 2025 to actually experience good customer service. I didn't tell you, Nicole was at the end of her shift when I entered. She told me when she was leaving and introduced me to her replacement (she's a keeper!) The owner is there with her husband and family, often and she encouraged me to come back and try dinner. I will, you can bet, I will. Beautiful brunch venue in Hollywood, worth a while a drive from either Miami or Aventura. Although it's summer in SoFlo the seating outside is well equipped with plenty of fans. The food and the beverages were great! I had the salmon egg Benedict and it was delicious, and the side potatoes were super crunchy and a great complement. This place has a lot of potential, especially in the West Boca Raton food desert. However, the lack of good service is a major downfall. Staff seems untrained, unfamiliar with the menu, and the food takes a very long time to reach the table. Even a coffee took 22 minutes to arrive. When we visited, we were one out of two small tables (so the busy excuse is not relevant). I hope they get their act together with service to make this place a success.
