What a fortunate find! We left Philly and headed to South Jersey to land on this spot. From the wait and the crowds, we knew this was the place to go. When we were finally seated we had a great waitress who shared her recommendations. We landed on the Eggs Benedict and the $19 BUTTERSCOTCH APPLE FRENCH TOAST, which is baked cinnamon & vanilla custard-soaked brioche, butterscotch apples; topped with brown butter oat streusel & Philly whip. Unbelievable. The place was loud and popping on a Sunday around noon. Not intimate, but a fun post-church gathering of hungry souls. Haddonfield itself is a cute little town with what appeared to be a lot of cute dining spots. We will definitely make this our pit stop on future NY - DC sojourns! read more

Café Lift was a solid and enjoyable brunch stop in downtown Haddonfield. We stopped in for a mid-morning brunch on a Monday and were seated right away. The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, and the staff was genuinely pleasant from the start. Julian, our server, greeted us promptly, got coffee on the table quickly, and kept everything moving smoothly. In addition to standard coffee, they offer craft espresso-bar style drinks, which is a nice touch whether you are there for breakfast or brunch. The restaurant also has outdoor seating, not ideal in December, but it would be great in warmer weather for people-watching along Haddonfield's main street. The menu has plenty of options, and I went with the fennel sausage frittata with roasted potatoes and bacon. It was hearty and well executed, the bacon was crisp, the potatoes were crunchy, and the portion was generous enough that I could not finish it. My wife ordered the green goddess roll, which she really enjoyed, though her potatoes came out cold while mine were hot, the only real miss of the visit. We also shared a bowl of lentil soup, which was perfect for a cool day and a nice surprise on a brunch menu. This spot works well for weekdays or weekends, breakfast or brunch, and it does get busy, so reservations are a good idea or be prepared to wait with a coffee. After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. There was a slight wait for the table but we got seated within 10. The restaurant is split into two rooms, each of them following a white color scheme. In the leftmost room, booths line the wall that splits the restaurant in two while counter seating is nearby. Behind the counter is an elaborate coffee station along with a tall wooden shelf that has coffee-related knickknacks on it. Finally, next to the counter is a mounted sign that says "Brunch 4 Ever" above tiles that spell out the names of different types of coffee. The second room, on the other hand, is a bit less elaborate. It has a simple setup of a few tables with a mirror overlooking the restaurant on a nearby wall. We ordered the following: Daughter got the Smoked Salmon Toast, which has poached egg, arugula, beets, pickled onions, whipped ricotta, everything bagel spice on a toasted sourdough. She liked it and thought it was amazing and was pleasantly surprised with the side salad portion. She didn't expect it to be so big and flavorful and liked a lot. Hubs and I liked it, as well. Hubs got the Mushroom and Leek Frittata, which has roasted mushrooms, sautéed leeks, gorgonzola cheese served with sourdough toast. He said the frittata was flavorful but thought that the home fries were ok and wished that there were onions with it. He also wished that he was given more than one slice of sourdough toast. LOL. Daughter and I thought that his entree was the healthiest of the 3 of us, so we ended up eating some of it and liked it. My friend who has been before said they expanded their seating area to accommodate more diners. I got the Jersey Madame ($19), which is a spinoff of a croque madame but with a stack of pancakes and a slice of pork roll. A bit steep in price, but tasty nevertheless. Unexpectedly had friends from the West Coast come to visit me. They had pre-conceived notions of what New Jersey was like. Coffee was pretty decent too. The main downside was that it was incredibly, incredibly loud inside. While we enjoyed the meal itself, the environment was a little stressful. We stopped by on a Sunday in the spring. This area of Haddonfield only offers on-street parking. The place had a 20 minute wait. There is a little space in the front to wait for your table with two small benches. Offering outdoor seating on the sidewalk as well as a mixture of tables with booth back chairs. After about 25 minutes of waiting, and noticing there were a few tables that were bussed and reset and unoccupied. my wife approached the host stand and asked about our table, they were kid of like "oh yeah!" and brought us over to a table. The menu has lots of options, we made our selections and soon our beverages came. The regular house brewed coffee was great - reminiscent of one of our La Colombe favorites. I got a cafe mocha which was fine but not memorable, and our daughter ordered the rose lemonade which had rose water syrup and dried rose petals garnished on team. Kid. Of unique and she was happy with it. All of our various breakfast dishes were delicious and we were pleased with our choices overall. A good spot to try if you are in Haddonfield and looking for a nice brunch spot. They are open until 3pm. We especially enjoyed the sleek modern look of the indoor seating area and appreciated the giant glass windows overlooking downtown Haddonfield. Prices were high. I tried their lemon ricotta pancakes and highly recommend them. My friend ordered butterscotch apple French toast. We split the potatoes. Everything was delicious. I did order a coffee beverage and asked them to go light on the cinnamon, that request was not granted. Go to this location pretty often lunch and breakfast selection's very good food is above average. Tried to have a business breakfast meeting on a Tuesday morning with 3 other co-workers before work. 8:00 AM and thought I was in studio 54 from the 80's music to way to loud and we could not hear each other talk. Places was pretty empty and asked the hostess who seated us if the music could be turned down. The hostess (green Guinness Ireland shirt) refused the request. After a while we moved outside to a table on the shady side of the street. A little chilly for a spring morning and music was still loud on the outside. Our waitress Devin D was very apologetic to the request but said the manager was not on site and she could not adjust the volume. Overall Devin did a fantastic job and will have to reconsider going to an 8:00 AM disco. I chose the Maple Brown Sugar Latte and it hit the spot. For my meal, I ordered the Jersey Madame. All I can say is wow, Wow, WOW!! I hit all the tastebuds...salty, sweet, and savory. Updated Review: I have now been to Cafe Lift two times since my initial review and I have to say... FANTASTIC! Both times, there was a significant wait to be seated (first time was 60 min for a party of 4 and the second was 45 min for a party of 2) but they take your phone number and text you when the table is ready which allows you to walk around and check out all of the fun little shops in Haddonfield. But the biggest reason for my updated and 5 STAR review is the food! The Cubano absolutely blew me away. First, the sandwich is made from what takes and feels like fresh, soft inside, crispy and flavorful outside focaccia bread. Ham, pulled pork, pickle and brown mustard all served with the perfect balance of each to create a masterfully delicious sandwich that is hard to put down but served in such a large portion (with a nice side salad) that you'll usually have plenty to take home and reheat! Not kidding when I say this is the best Cubano I've ever had (and I've had several from Miami). In addition to the Cubano we've also ordered French toast, raspberry blintz (seasonal), and the prime rib sandwich. I could use another large paragraph summarizing each, but the bottom line is, they were all GREAT! Great portion sizes, amazing flavor combinations, fantastic and friendly service, and a menu big enough to try something new but also good enough to stick with the hits if you wanted! Since the early opening when I was a little disappointed and gave this a 4 star, the past two visits have proven they are worthy of a 5 star upgrade! DO NOT miss this spot if you're visiting Haddonfield! Note on decor: I won't let it impact my review, but they still have minor decor issues. The first time there was an ugly hole in the ceiling and this time there was some very unseemly (and dangerous) raising of the vinyl flooring under some of the table seating. This place is literally only a year old and there should not be this significant of signs of aging. To management: love your food, seriously it's damn good! But you're in Haddonfield, packed every day and charging Haddonfield prices $17 for a sandwich). Stop going cheap with vinyl flooring. Spend the money on flooring that will hold up to your level of traffic. read more

I visited Cafe Lift on a rainy Saturday morning for brunch at 10 AM, prosecco in hand. They don't take reservations, so I got there a little earlier than the rest of my party of 7 and asked to reserve a table. Despite the torrential rain, there was a steady stream of people in and out of the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they would have my table ready shortly. My friends arrived shortly after, but the two of us who arrived first were escorted to the table, and the very sweet man at the front told us there was no rush. Our server, Julian, was at our table in no time and was extremely attentive throughout our entire time there. I ordered a black coffee, which was delicious but not as hot as I would have liked and some grapefruit juice for my prosecco. Once everyone arrived, Julian was willing to answer any menu questions and offer suggestions. I settled on the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and a spicy fennel sausage. These may have been the best pancakes I have EVER had. I'm definitely more of a waffle person, and these pancakes could convert me. They were perfectly cooked, incredibly flavored, and just perfection. The spicy fennel sausage was also delicious. It's definitely spicy but not at all overpowering the flavor. We were there for my friend's 40th, so before our food actually came out, they brought us French toast with a candle in it! It was really good and, again, I'm a waffle person, so color me surprised. I really liked Cafe Lift. I'd love to go back. I went with 6 other women, and I think it's the perfect place for a girl's brunch. I don't know that I'd take my kids. I ordered the lyonnaise salad and their mushroom soup Loveeeeed the mushroom soup - it reminds me of the one at White Dog which is a favorite of mine. Will def get it again if they have it (should definitely be on their permanent menu) The lyonnaise salad was OK - way more greens than protein. And for the price I def should have gotten more ingredients than just the frisée and kale.
