I'm not sure what was going on this day. But I always order from here and it's awesome and great service. Today I called and ordered at 6:05 and I did not receive the best phone service. But she stated it would be ready in 10 minutes. We arrive to pick it up at 6:20 and the employees were all standing around and when asked for my order, they looked like they didn't even know we ordered. So now at 6:40 we are still waiting. Just a little confused and frustrated. read more

This place is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but the food is worth a visit!! We had the tempura-fried soft shell crab for our appetizer. It was served with a fried sweet potato slice and a fried zucchini slice. For our main dishes, we had the beef lo mein, the Fire on the Bayou roll, and the Dragon roll. Everything was delicious! The sushi was very fresh! It looks like most of their customers are takeout orders, but dining in was worth it because all the food came out super fresh and super hot. Service was super friendly too. Great place! Nice little hidden gem! We came in on a Sunday at 3:00pm for an early dinner. Everything in the shopping center was closed beside Kirin and we were the only customers the whole time we were there. The inside is small and doesn't seem like much but we were impressed. The seafood was cooked perfectly and they flavors were spot on. The wait was minimal and the services was great. We didn't really care for bottled drinks but the food outweighed that con. Hidden gem that my wife and I got the chance to experience. Greeted by a warm staff, got the feeling of family. Had the feel of a takeout with the surprising very affordable appetizers, and here we go, Wow value for your money is heightened with the quality and flavor. The Tuna tataki nice flavor, and big chunks of tuna, definitely see the chef's making this his own recipe, the added cucumber was a nice touch. The snow crab salad was good and nice portion to share. Ordered sushi and wow what a disappointment. The "special roll" was lazily thrown into a salad container with zero resemblance of a sushi roll. Fish tasted old and tbe spicy tuna was way too salty. Alaska roll was prepared wrong with crab instead of cucumber. Yellowtail roll was absolutely inedible, tasted like I was going to get sick. Fantastic sushi and food all around. The sushi always tastes fresh and clean. They have one sushi chef who makes all of the sushi right in front of you when you walk in. Just be prepared to wait 30-45 mins before you leave your house, if you order to-go. The man's got lots of sushi to make. read more

I'm SO happy this moved in around the corner from us! Came home to a menu in my mailbox and they must have read my mind because I did NOT want to cook tonight. Placed a carry out order, and when my husband went in to pick it up they were almost done hand rolling the sushi. When I tell you their food is fresh... I mean FRESH. We ordered the Rainbow Roll, Crunchy Roll, Salmon Sashimi, Steak Hibachi, and Shrimp Fried Rice. They gave us free edamame and free drinks, too! Everything was absolutely delicious! We happened to discover this place, due to all of our regulars being to packed with to long of a wait. We took a chance, and boy are we glad we did. VERY IMPRESSED. Small little hole in the wall. The food and service did not disappoint! Got the Gyoza for an appetizer and it was very good and fresh. For the main course I went with the beef teriyaki bento box which was a bigger portion that I was expecting for a reasonable price. The bento box came with fried spring roll, fried gyoza, white rice, and beef on a bed of grilled onions. I also got a side of noodles which were more than enough to bring home. Personally, of the four dumpling fillings, beef was my favorite. All four starters are a good choice, but if you leave without trying the Beef Roll, you are doing yourself a disservice. My recommendation from best to still very good: Beef Roll Shrimp Tempura Panfried Colorful Dumplings Cream Cheese Wontons For our main dish (only had room for one after all our starters), we ordered the Black Garlic Oil Ramen with pork belly. This ramen bowl is massive. We barely made a dent in it and we thought they would have to roll us out of the restaurant. The pork belly was also nicely seared thicker cut; none of that thin and overcooked pork belly some ramen places use. I am afraid I will not be trying their other ramen bowl simply because I loved this one so much that I cannot imagine eating here and not getting this black garlic ramen. About 25 minutes later, I get to the place and pick up the order and then get back to my hotel where I grub down. Both the dumplings and noodles are tasty good. The dumplings came in multiple colors with a nice crust on the bottom and packed with filling. I got caught off guard with the extra fried dough-residue attached to the dumplings but it didn't bother me. The order comes with 2 dumplings each of beef onion, pork scallion, chicken, and vegetable. The combo noodles has chicken, beef, and shrimp mixed in with onions and peppers and a soy-based sauce. IT's a hefty portion that gave me lunch for the next day. I'll have to try the noodle soups and other dumplings next time I'm here. Overall a solid asian eats spot in Lafayette.
