Me and my boy got in town today around 10am for the Niner game tomorrow. Our 2nd stop after brunch was Cafe Lu today a little before 1pm. We got seated right away and ordered a couple iced coffees which were good. We then later ordered a mocha shake, another iced coffee and some tater tots. Omg that basket is filled with tots for only $7. It was not too busy during most of our visit which was cool because me and my boy got to have conversations with the 4 girls there at the time. Selena and Melina (I think that's her name) sat with us and we had the most hilarious conversation, they are dope. Melly came by and was chatting up my friend, she's nice. My favorite though is Jaylene, she was definitely my motivation for visiting based on her pics on the Cafe Lu IG page. I made sure to check IG to confirm she was on the roster today before we came, because some of the girls are in the Bay Area where I'm from visiting Cafe Paradise (their sister location). Before we left I worked up the courage to ask Jaylene if I can take a pic with her and she said yes (I tipped her of course bc I felt weird if I didn't). During my trip in so-cal, I decided to come here with my guy friends since they wanted to make a trip to this place since the place is quite popular. You walk in and the first thing I notice are the TVs everywhere. I think there were like more than 10. I hear they remodeled and my friends said it looks better now. This place is popular for their girls. Apparently this place has more pretty girls than most places. I wouldn't know since I've only been to one other coffee shop in San Jose. Of course, the drinks here are expensive but that's given since people don't really come here for drinks but it's more for the environment instead. Guys would like it here because it's a place for them to gather together and hang out. My friends said these girls are more nicer than the ones in nor-cal. I found that amusing. Went in ti this coffee shop today to see how good this establishment is . Big disappointment. Took a friend who travel from over sea to try it out , went in seated our self , and waited for a good 5 minutes , The waitress came by to take our order , since it was our first time I asked to see the manure and order our drinks and wings with it . she came back with our drink and the wings will come later she said , and after that we were unattended for a long duration , until I wave my hand to order something else , pricey coffee and very poor service . never go back and never recommenced. read more

Wanted to see what the buzz was about - waitresses are very pretty, wearing sexy lingerie. The music was so loud there was no comfortable way to talk to them. Vietnamese coffee was good, strong and sweet. I did not see anyone smoking, but the smoke smell was so pervasive and overpowering, between that and the overly loud music, I just wanted to leave. Really did not like it - won't return - much more comfortable, better places close by. Went to another place, the music was lower, no smoke smell, and enjoyed conversing with the ladies. The coffee here is crazy strong. I turned one cup of coffee into two cups of coffee/tea. It's not dark and smokey like the other one I went to which is nice. We just played cards and chilled. It's like any other place except the waitresses are in lingerie. Vietnamese cafes = overrated. read more

Brought my wife to check the place out. Arrived at 9:30 PM and they were long closed! Empty parking lot - without much to offer as far as lighting goes by the way. Doors closed. Security gate pulled shut. Lights out. Nobody in sight. No note on the door. Not bad enough to prevent us from trying another visit, but certainly did not live up to the big yellow banner by the door that read, "Open Daily 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM." Scantily clad ladies serving strong coffee and smoovies (damn you, Workaholics). Iced tea gets regularly filled up. TVs to watch sports and game machines over at one side. Some patrons bring cards to play, others bring their laptops cuz apparently they have free Wi-Fi. Don't expect the ladies to talk to you unless you're a regular. I took a friend there to show him what "Vietnamese coffee" is. We were excited but as we walked into the place, we felt a cold, empty, and a muted energy. Must be the time of day, it was around 4pm. There were a few guests and like 3 or 4 waitress. They were polite but not really be as good as in the photos, just average looking with "uptight" clothing. Since we were so hyped by the all Yelp posts, we were underwhelmed. After 15 mins, we decided to leave a decent tip and get going. It wasn't worth it. Oh well, better luck next time. Don't go to OC often but did my Taxes near this Area, Craving for some Coffee and found this place...When I went inside, I was surprised the servers were Asian Girls in Hot Bikinis....I thought I died and gone to Heaven. The ambiance inside was cool, they were playing Loud House Music which I like...The Girls were friendly, Ice tea was free if I order something from the Menu...I just ordered their Avocado Smoothie for around $7.00, kind of expensive I think but I guess you don't go inside just for the Drinks. The only negative I can think of is it's an Hour away from my Place or else I would go here for Coffee almost every day. read more

Just went here last night with two of my guy friends. Yes, I was the third wheel. No, I did not feel awkward. It was a new experience for me as I've never heard of these kind of places before. It's located in a shopping plaza, next door to a coin op laundry. What a great way to kill some time. Haha!!! As I walked in, I saw bunch of guys chillin', chatting, playing cards, and drinking. Went here with my boyfriend and his guy friends to check out sexy girls, I have to say the girls here are pretty hot. I enjoyed looking at them more than the boys. I also like their drinks and food except for the sweet potatoes because they added sugar in it. Make sure to ask for no sugar. I wish the girls walk around more often instead of hiding at the cashiers or in the back. Reviews are based on why you go to a certain establishment. I've heard of this place from many of my friends. The eye candy here is top notch. Not every girl is going to knock your socks off but your eyes will wander for sure. I came here a while back when it was still under construction so this review is from what I remember. There's a minimum purchase of one drink per person, or they charge you $5 for sitting down. A smoothie is around $6 so might as well pay the extra dollar. It's a chill place to enjoy some coffee or smoothies and kill some time with your friends. They allow you to smoke inside so this may not be the ideal place for all you non smokers. Service is alright, nothing to brag about. read more

Its ok if you wanna go there and stare at half naked women. There is a very few selection of food. Food kinda pricey. Service was ok and there was quite a few eye candies. The lady serving us tried hard to nice. I think if someone was willing to serve food and drinks in skimpy outifts, they should not be offended to hear crude remarks or jokes from their predominantly male clients. The waitresses are good looking, but they were not friendly and have below average customer service when I was there today with one of my guy friends. I don't know if the waitresses were tired or what, but the customer service wasn't that great. Also, the cafe is supposed to be a no smoke environment (as they have signs that say that), but the majority of the time I was there, there was cigarette smoke all over the place. My friend, who was there with me, assumed that one of the waitresses was smoking behind the counter. Overall, I'm very disappointed at Cafe Lu to be honest with you. I have heard about this place for two years now. Today I finally had a reason to make the drive from San Diego and stop by Cafe Lu. My friend and I make a quick stop for a drink and grill chz sandwiches. Anyhow, the place wasn't bzy at all. I have a friend who recommend a different place but eventually said the ladies at cafe Lu were very sociable. He was correct, we met Julie and Tammy. They were both very nice and friendly (no not that kind of "friendly"), they both actually held a wonderful conversation w my friend and I. Tammy had a bubbly personality and Julie was simply a nice girl both ladies were cool as heck. We finished out sandwiches, pineapple slush and coffee with in 20 mins and left very impressed. Around 10 minutes before 11pm, instead of telling us the shop is closing, the waitress took our tea and smoothie without saying anything. This place was a complete dump. I went there with a friend for the first time, and we both thought the Cafe was disappointing. The service was slow, the drinks were expensive and didn't taste very good, and the restrooms were a complete mess, they did not work and the restrooms were dirty, very unsanitary. The girls were fairly good looking and had great bodies, but other than that, the place was useless. As we were walking in, there was a narcotics transaction occurring between a few folks outside the establishment, so the Cafe isn't in the best location. If you don't mind the lousy drinks, service, and unhealthy atmosphere, it may be worth checking out the place to see the girls, who rarely even know you are there. read more

My review won't matter, there's skin-clad beautiful woman here. 1 star? Who cares! I must have showed up on a bad day because there was no food and I got nauseous from the smell of cigarettes, dafaq is going at this business, there's a no smoking sign visible on every wall. My 8 dollar smoothie was good, but at the check out I got charged 12 bucks! I didn't dare question it for fear of looking cheap in front of the cashier whose breast had me like a dear in headlights, very bright headlights. Vietnamese coffee shop with good looking waitresses in bikinis. Great place to take a break from work and clear your head. :) Forgot about the meetings for a little while at least. Coffee is strong. Ice tea is free if you order coffee or something else from the menu. I've been to Lu's a couple of times before and each time its been getting worse and worse. The girls are hot and the drinks are not bad. But that gets old quick as soon as you're just sitting there looking at the same chick look through her phone or talking to her regular customers. The only way they do come over and say a few words to you its when they are doing their "tips for t*ts" special. But they leave and never come back. Came here and it seems too modern not traditional, girls only went to people they knew and sat down with them while two girls asked us if I was served already... nope took literally 8 minutes to even get noticed and half the tables were empty. I went today 1/26. I was reading a few of the reviews so I had the urge to visit this place. I am sorry but I WAS very, very disappointed. The place didn't smell like cigarettes YET but I sat myself down near the Internet PCs. I noticed a few small group of guys, and a few single older Causasian men who didn't even look happy too. The girl comes to me and gives me an iced tea and didn't even look at me or even smile. I didn't see anyone of the girls wearing thongs, they were covering it up. Coffee shops are definitely unique spaces in Little Saigon and very interesting for people watching. The servers are primarily 2nd generation Vietnamese with a couple recently arrived Vietnamese. This is one of those places you gotta take your out-of-town friends to. Off all the coffee shops, I've been to I'd say Lu is the best by a thin margin. Drinks are hella expensive but that's expected for an eyeful of T&A. The girls here look better than girls at any strip club you go to in the county and if you're a sports fan you'd like it even more. Just don't expect anything when girls come sit by you for 20 min being all friendly. Chances are they won't remember your name on your next visit. It's a coffee house with half-naked good looking chicks taking your orders, refilling your water/tea, making your order and texting when they're not doing anything. They'll never entertain you unless you're a regular or Bill Gates. However, I'm not sure of this but it seems like they don't like seeing girls with guys in their cafe - so if you're a group of guys.... don't bring girls. I kind of understand, its kinda awkward. They don't have a menu so just ask them what they have. Price range is about 5-8 dollars for drinks. Music is loud at night, don't know during the mornings. It's an O-K experience, I might come again with friends to hang out and chill, watch basketball or just look at hot girls while drinking coffee. The drinks were not half bad, I suggest they make the drinks in front of their customers or at least entertain their customers a bit. If they did that the last time I came - I might have tipped more than I paid for my drink.
