This is my spot for the last 6 years. It is old reliable but I'll be objective. Ambiance is old restaurant with a crew of aunties in the back. Store is decently kept, not exceptional, it is a hole in the wall in an aged building. Food is fine. It by far is not the best Pho, food itself is a 6/10. The real selling point is that it essentially never closes, it will always provide hot soup at the dead of night. Years back portion sizes would be generous, presently they have skimped on noodles and the meat amount drastically. Soup quality is acceptable but not great. Value is alright, this is a place you will enjoy if you set your expectations lower. Service is handled by Vietnamese women who speak English at an elementary level, they can appear extremely rude or pushy but they are very sweet and want to do their job well in the way they know how. There is a huge service quality uplift if you can speak Vietnamese. This is that type of place. Bring cash. I had a really bad experience at Pho Vie 2 and won't be coming back. I found a bug in my pho, which is already unacceptable, but what made it worse was how the staff handled it. Instead of apologizing they were rude when I was telling them I was going to leave they still expected me to pay for the meal. When I said I wasn't willing to pay for food that had a bug in it, they started yelling at me and told me to leave. On top of that, they were talking in Vietnamese right in front of me, which felt extremely disrespectful. If I could give this place 11 stars out of 10, I would! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was incredible. The staff is incredibly humble, and you can really tell this is Vietnamese food from the heart. The Chicken Pho was a total treat--the broth and vegetables were "next level" and some of the best soup I've ever had. Following a suggestion from the staff, we ordered a side of rice, and I'm so glad we did. I'm not sure if they use butter or a specific seasoning, but the flavor was amazing. Don't expect any amazing service or pristinely clean place but, is exactly what you expect from a old school Asian diner. At the time I went, they were open pretty late, meaning that the customers were mostly people getting off their late shift, or coming after a night out. I got the Pho Dac Biet, which came in a large size. I thought the variation of meat was okay, but I do wish they did meatballs like a few other places. It was a little lukewarm, which wasn't the best, as I expect it to be close to boiling. Who am I to complain though for this late night bowl of comfort... I've been coming to this pho spot for years with my friends. It's been our go-to late-night comfort place after long shifts-- we've always appreciated the food and the convenience of it being open 24/7. But tonight was disappointing and frankly upsetting!! Instead of acknowledging the issue and addressing it professionally, the response was defensive and dismissive. I always order shrimp pho and spring rolls and this time they said they removed spring rolls from their menu, which is a huge disappointment. So we ordered a large shrimp pho and shrimp fried rice. I was craving some broth and during COVID-19 a lot of places are closed early or just out of business. Luckily this place was open and I just randomly went in to order a large Pho Shrimp for takeout. I've noticed this place before and it always had like great specials on Beef Or Chicken Pho for 50% off. I would have to next time ask them for their daily special and try ordering that to save some money. For the most part, I think they are very reasonable for the price on their Pho. My Large Shrimp Pho To-Go was $8.50 and with tax it came out to $9.24. They only accept CASH for now. Their portions was very fair for the price. They give you plenty of the sides of bean sprouts, mint leaves, half a lime wedge, 2 packets each of siracha and hoisin sauce in a separate clear plastic bag (though, I requested not to have those sides because I don't eat any of it). I just like my Shrimp Pho plain with the normal broth, shrimp, cilantro, onions and noodles. They packed it in a secured paper & plastic bag. This place may look like a hole in the wall, but they're FAST, and Nice people (based on my brief interaction). There was maybe 3 couples dining in at the time I was placing my to-go order, so you can dine in and enjoy their specials. The comforting and welcoming employees that I know work so so hard to the best pho bowls for the prices. A small/regular bowl goes from $8-$10, and about $12 for the large bowls. I have been coming for almost 5 years during my clubbing days. This place doesn't disappoint me.But because of the pandemic, haven't been here since. Since now things are slowing going back to normal, my friend decided to treat me out on my bday and trying out one of my top late pho places. Plentiful parking but it can be sketchy at sometimes. Inside has change in order to promote social distance. No protective glass by the way. The menu has changed. FREE soft drinks of choice of coke, sprite and root beer. Order two bowls of pho and two drinks. Took them only 5 minutes to get our food so that's way fast than Pho Luu. The reviews doesn't lie. There is waitress who didn't speak to us and wasn't wearing a mask during the whole 30-minute dining experience. We didn't mind (but for those who are concern for their health, you can also eat outside as their outside tables and don't request this waitress serve you). Here are the bad parts now: order a large chicken pho (you choose either white or dark meat). I chose dark meat. The meat is dark meat but the large bowl doesn't seem like a large. It felt like a medium and that's a disappointing part. I have come here for almost half a decade and I know what a large is. My friend got the Dac Biet (special beef combination) and extra side of tai Kobe. The extra side comes on a small plate and it looks frozen and it doesn't look appealing. Kobe traditionally is suppose to melt in your mouth but it's like any order tai (or steak). What's worst: even th flank taste so much better than this $8 side dish. That's the other thing: some of the staff don't wear a mask and I feel bad for the waiter who was polite and was wearing a mask during the whole time of our experience.
