    Questionable presentation/portion of lamb shoulder
    Diego M.

I think many places on magazine want to be fancy but run into issues. This place had a few. The host was weirdly sarcastic to me upon entering, maybe it's because I was a single party and a younger person but it felt hostile. In fact it felt like everyone didn't want to be there, which someone could easily perceive as hostile. The actual service was good but it felt like I was on edge from seeing someone blow up at someone else. The food is expensive but this place portrays itself as a fancy restaurant. Obviously not the fanciest, but upscale. All of the food was delicious , especially the sauce with the lamb dish. The escargots had nice salt sprinkled on them for texture. I'm not a fan of the portions or presentation of the lamb. It was four separate chunks of lamb meat that may or may not be from the same animal. Would have much preferred a singular piece as it just felt like something you'd get at cava (presentation wise). It was also a very small portion for the price. Overall this is a fine restaurant, but not one I'd recommend until its price point goes down. They can keep high drink prices, but I believe this restaurant would make a lot more sense and be rated higher if it were a bit cheaper

A quaint little neighborhood restaurant with a wonderful staff and great food! Visited here a couple weeks ago with a group of chefs and all raved about the evening. The wait staff was excellent and dint miss a beat and very friendly! I had the blackened grouper! The roasted beet salad and the poached pear for dessert all were fantastic ! A must try restaurant the next time you are in NOLA!

I ate here several years ago with a friend and remember it being excellent, and it is still wonderful. Albeit a small place it packs a lot of punch for simple elegance, classic yet inventive dishes, high quality, and exceptional service. We were seated right away when we arrived, in the side courtyard. I chose a Boulevardier cocktail to start, bourbon infused, and it was amazing; so smooth and delicious. It came with three cherries perched on top in a toothpick. For starters I had the escargot. It's very different than the traditional in pockets of oil and garlic in a round metal tray. This had the snails drenched in a light cream sauce placed on top of a sliver of French bread, toasted. It was absolutely delicious. My main course was the grouper and, my gosh, the quality and preparation of the fish was exceptional. Light and tasty the fish sat on a bed of mashed potatoes that truly complimented one another. There was a balsamic vinegar sauce at the edges of the potatoes that really gave the dish some wonderful, complex flavor. Accompanying my entree I had a robust yet crisp glass of Prosecco that fit the bill for a well coordinated dinner. The only downside, loosing a star in my rating, was our place in the courtyard. It was quite cold, very windy, and occasionally we got sprinkled with droplets of rain. That took away from the enjoyment of dining, but we managed to survive it just fine. Lindsay, our server, was an absolute gem. So personable and professional she made the meal special. When we mentioned the cold temperature she immediately got a heat lamp for us. She was so attentive to every detail. Giving us recommendations and just going the extra mile, always with a pleasant smile and great attitude. This place is fortunate to have a person like Lindsay. We greatly enjoyed the food, the service, and fortunately the meals stayed warm in the colder temps too. Lilette is the type of place to return to often .

We ate here during a work visit. Overall experience was good. Let me start with service, which was excellent. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive. As for the food, I had the potato gnocchi which was very good. I like them on the tender side. I also had the wedding soup which was okay. For my entree I had the sautéed stripe bass which was pretty good. I was hoping for a little more chimichurri sauce. Fish was cooked nicely. Barley was a little bland. Overall the experience was nice. Good wine, lively vibe, and great service.

5 stars for the food. Got the Louisiana crab claw appetizer and they were so good. Wasn't super hungry, so I ordered the chilled sweet corn broth as my meal, and it was the perfect chilled summer soup! My husband had the braised lamb, which was also delicious. We sat outside, and loved the courtyard area with the trees and string lights. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for water initially, but our waiter apologized (they were having a shift change meeting) and the rest of our service was very good. Would definitely come back!

We were in town for the Super Bowl and were looking for local restaurants that have received national recognition for excellence. Chef John Harris was included in Food and Wine magazine's list of America's Best New Chefs and a James Beard finalist for the Best Chef South award four times. Lilette is described as a romantic, upscale French and Italian restaurant in a former drugstore with a wine-colored dining room. We dined there for lunch on Saturday, right after Taylor Swift and her entourage had dinner the night before. Our meal consisted of: * Potato Gnocchi (with sage, brown butter and cream * Agnolotti (with duck and ricotta) * Louisiana Crab Claws (with passion fruit butter) * Yellowfin Crudo * Raw oysters This was a perfect light lunch as we got an amazing tasting of some of the best menu items. The gnocchi, agnolotti and crab claws were standouts. For dinner, the Bouillabaisse, Duck Confit and Grilled Hanger Steak are considered signatures. Lionela, our server, was awesome. I'd highly recommend you request her.

    Valentines Day dinner!

It's not usually fair to review a restaurant on a busy night like Valentine's Day, but let me tell you they nailed it as far as service execution and food quality. The ambience of this little Magazine Street gem is a mixture of cozy and elegant, but still a little casual. The service was impeccable. Don't miss the gnocchi on the appetizer menu, it is light and fluffy and decadent! The steak frites was a highlight, flank steak with french fries that tasted like they were cooked in duck fat. Crispy and rich! I wish they had more red wine by the glass selections, the only Pinot Noir option was $25. But the server made another recommendation and it was delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed their entrées immensely. There was a $90 ribeye special, the quality of the beef was incredible. Lilette feels like a neighborhood family restaurant, delicious but not fussy. Don't wait for a special occasion to go, it's a very approachable menu, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the food. We will definitely be returning! And yes, Taylor Swift dined here over Super Bowl weekend! Now I see why!

    The best dessert EVER

The food was amazing ! The staff was so French And the fact that my " little sister" was so excited she ate where Taylor Swift ate and the waiter was kind to escort her to see where she sat lol as crazy all that is .....made her night and she too enjoyed the food as well as the vibe! They even took us earlier than the reservation time. A great place to be silly and she wasn't the only swift fan there....we surely will be back !

    Harvest moon cocktail.

Definitely a fancy spot, but the staff made us feel right at home. The crab claws in butter sauce were amazing, and the drinks were delicious. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The Harvest Moon and All the Stars cocktails were both great.

    Branzino delicious!!

Let me tell you about my experience at Lisette. Marika gave us an amazing service. The food was to die for. Started with the escargo and burrata apps, with a French 75 cocktail and in house made ginger ale. Smoothly moved into the entrees with a bottle of highly recommended Pinot Noir to match our dinners (thank you Marika). Bread was the most delicious house made focaccia. We were served the mouth watering branzino which was cooked to perfection and the fabulous duck breast cooked as the chef recommended at medium rare. Oh my tongue. Finished with an incredible espresso martini and the goat cheese quenelles along with the special dessert of the day, strawberry bomb! Which is fresh strawberry ice cream inside a white chocolate shell. This should be on everyone's list for dining when in the area.

Admittedly Lilette doesn't need another five-star review after Taylor Swift recently gave it her stamp of approval, but the food here is worthy of it. Even the bread they serve is incredible. Every dish is delicious but my favorites are the potato gnocchi appetizer and the steak frites. The desserts are incredible- this time I tried the coconut cake. Excellent!

A MuST TRy! This place is a perfect date night! We were greated by the host as soon as we arrived. Its a very small and adorable place. Our server arrived as soon as we were seated. He was very friendly and highlighted the top items on the menu. Our food arrived really fast, fresh, and mouth watering. Everything we had was amazing and the flavors just burst in your mouth. Cant wait to go back.

I am from Orange County and I literally told my BF we are def flying back to New Orleans just to eat here. We ordered all the specials and everything came out to be like $200ish - VERY reasonable!! In OC this meal would cost $500 considering the restaurant, location, ambiance, service, and food. Me and my BF got the: Wagyu Ribeye which was charred with white truffle sauce and chimichurri sauce on the side. The steak was huge they split it for us and we still couldn't finish it. DUCK FAT POTATOES - the best potatoes I've ever had in my entire life I have no words. It was fluffy and juicy and crispy no sauce needed I think they cooked this for like 20 hrs and double fried? Idk it was so tender Crab legs - delicious and I would def recommend. So easy to eat. I wanted crab but was super hung over this day so it was nice that these were so easy to devour Shrimp - I LOVE THESE you can taste the char the shrimp was so juicy and fresh you can tell they are fresh bc the head juice was like dripping down my hand it was extremely delicious Our server was really nice but idk his name. At first he put us in this shabby corner in the back against the restaurant and we asked to move and he moved us swiftly. I do not blame the host for putting us there bc we did not have reservations and the place was PACKED I'm surprised they sat us down immediately. I wish we had this restaurant by my house in California I would go every day

She was a bit chatty but still nice. The menu wasn't extensive at all. The waitress did a good job at selling many of the menu options. I initially had the chicken with carrots and brussel sprouts. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and flavored well. The chicken however was very dry. When the waitress asked how it was, I told her how dry it was and she immediately bright me something else, which was the fish and chips. The fish was hot, crispy, and cooked to perfection. It was tender, however it lacked flavor and seasoning. I asked for hot sauce but never received it. I finally decided to ask for a to go box to take the remaining piece home. The chips "fries" were great. They were freshly cut real potato fries. They were hot and seasoned well. My significant other had the shrimp and grits which he thoroughly enjoyed. As an appetizer we had the salad. Seemed simple and basic enough but was actually very good. I'm unsure of the dressing it was tossed in but it was just enough and well flavored. We skipped on dessert. We considered the cookie plate but since nobody could tell us what kind of cookies they were, so we decided to pass. The best part about our dining experience was the ambiance. The music was nice and the decor was vibrant and swanky . I also had a mocktail flavored with pineapple, jalapeno, lime, mint, and cilantro. It was refreshing. I'm glad we had a chance to check it out before closing but I can honestly say there was no "WOW" factor and likely I wouldn't have been in a hurry to come back.

We ordered the crabcakes and baked feta as our appetizers, a medium rare ribeye and the special which was the lobster radiatore as our entrees. Everything was DELICIOUS. Every bite was savored and felt. My favorite were the crabcakes. It had a kick to it so if you don't like spice, I would opt for a different appetizer. The baked feta was also spicy. Steak was cooked to perfection. We tasted the rosemary w/ garlic and I'm not complaining. Lastly, the lobster radiatore. It was creamy and packed with a punch. It was spicy, had a strong lobster presence and just overall a great entree to pair w the steak!

My group and I came to chemin à la mer on a Monday at around 8:30 and got sat right away. The…read morerestaurant was practically empty, except for a couple of businessmen who looked like they planned a dinner and meeting combo, lol. But that on top of the emptiness makes sense with the location, hotel, day and time. Pam took care of us and was a joy as our server. She knew the menu very well and was able to answer all our questions on top of being helpful and productive throughout our visit. We had the skirt steak and king Salmon with a side of fries and stuffed potatoes. The skirt steak was cooked to medium and it was amazingg! Pam asked how I'd like it cooked and suggested it to be cooked at medium rare. I couldn't do that since I'm barely starting to get used to my steaks being cooked at medium, but it was still absolutely delicious. The sauce that was glazed on top, as well as the seasoning of the steak killed it!! The salmon was also delicious. Very flavorful. The stuffed potatoes were ok, we liked their side of fries more than that. Drinks were tasty and refreshing. Worth the price. We also got dessert, a chocolate cake and apple pie. I wasn't expecting to like the apple pie, but wow was that good! And the chocolate cake isn't just any boring cake. Once you break the cake, a chocolaty liquid melts out onto your plate, it was perfection. The restaurant itself is beautiful. They're located on the 14th (if I'm not mistaken) floor and have the best location for beautiful views of downtown New Orleans and the waterfront. I'm still thinking about that special sauce on the skirt steak (heart eyes). Thank u for a wonderful dinner!

The food was okay overall the service was slow and we waited a while to get a second drink. They…read morecheck on our food quality after bringing it. My wife ordered a steak Frites well well done and half of her portion slices were medium rare. We started with deviled eggs those were tasty I can recommend that and the shrimp cocktail was good enough. The crab salad was bland it needed something else to liven up the flavor a spoon luck of mayo maybe some pepper or salt. Pepper and salt and all the condiments are on the table which I've never a fan of it. The fine dining restaurants think it means they fancy but this food wasn't fancy the place was nice. The Service needs to be retrained. We ate here because we were seeing the old-fashioned Magic show at Eliza Jane next-door and if you wanna come in for some apps or maybe try or the other entrées I didn't find anything. I really wanted to try because I'm not a big fan of French food I guess I should've tried the duck. There may be some good food here, but I won't be back till to find out we were both underwhelmed. Hopefully they fix the problems if somebody else gives a better review, but I cannot. We both agree the french fries were good. Ambience is pretty good with their remodeling so the bathroom was like a 5 to 10 minute wait it's only one person at a time and women kept using the men's room because it's only. So I had to wait two times for women to come out. Single serve bathrooms definitely are not adequate, but they're doing the best they can during remodeling.

HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE from the service to the wait and even down to the food. If you want to write…read morea book on how not to run a restaurant, start your thesis here. Trying to make a reservation here is like breaking into Fort Knox, nobody answers the phone and when we finally did get a res two weeks out, they MOVED the res ONE HOUR before we were set to arrive. When we arrived the place actually looked very nice and the hostess was helpful in getting us seated, and those were the last moments of happiness we would experience over the next 2 hours. We ordered bottomless mimosas for around 6/10 people in our party. Every single time our bottle of champagne ran out we had to either ask for more or get up and walk over to the bar to request it. When we finally did order our food we were pretty excited, but little did we know we would have enough time to walk down to the morning parades and catch some beads before it would actually come out. From ordering to when our food arrived was a total of 1.5 HOURS. We were 5 minutes away from just walking out. You would think "wow, this food took so long to arrive! It must be good!" WRONG. They spent the hour and a half making our food to turn our order of french toast into a two sided coin, one side normal looking, the other black as coal. Ahh, who needs the hour and a half long wait for their french toast when you can have the duck and waffles, right? And then they brought us a plate of one waffle and a single duck leg for $30. At this point we started looking around for cameras because we thought we were being pranked. Not a single person in our 10 person party (and that's a lot of chances) found this place even remotely close to mediocre. Others had their chicken sandwiches arrive cold, salads arrive bad, and come on how do you mess a salad up? The worst part was seeing a couple get up and walk out from the wait and realizing we were the poor bastards that stayed. It's a shame because the spot itself looks nice, but I guess if you paint s**t pink, it's still s**t. Don't come here.
