    Tuna sandwich

We stopped by for a quick sandwich. The location was convenient, as it is located just to the left of where the boat docked. We tried the tuna sandwich on sourdough and it was excellent. It tasted so fresh and was perfect for an afternoon snack.

Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch or a quick snack - Eli's Island Deli has you covered. They also have lots of drinks and water and souvenirs. The store is modest in size but packs a tons of items in the space.

You just arrived to Avalon or leaving Avalon from the ferry landing, and hungry or forgot something - then go to Eli's Island Deli. I've walked past this place for years and never saw them. It can be found straight across from the ticketing office. Expand my pic and you'll see all your food options. But there's more ........ this place is packed floor to ceiling.

Best tuna sandwich on island, hands down. Quick to go service, and with a smile. I always come back for this!

Best sandwich shop in Catalina. I always try to stop here. I love the Tuna (albacore) on honey wheat bread. So fresh & healthy. Someone else mentioned in their review that they like getting it without Mayo on the bread so I did the same and loved it. A little dry but that's how I like it. Comes with lettuce and cheese. For the side you get a choice of chips, cookies or pickle. My husband had the turkey on sub roll. No eat in service but there are benches right outside that you can eat at. Since it's right where the fairies come and go, I like to grab a sandwich and eat it on the fairy on my way back to the mainland. $30 for two sandwiches

What better way to spend your morning waiting on the ferry than by grabbing a "morning after wrap". No wait and delicious wrap.

Recently went there and felt like I was misled. On their "Specials" board they had Rosemary Roast Beef Sandwich that listed "Focaccia" bread as the type of bread. Only reason I went there and purchased the sandwich is because "focaccia" got my attention--I love focaccia bread. Got my sandwich and got something looking like ciabatta bread and tasting like ciabatta bread, not focaccia. Focaccia bread is similar to tasting like pizza dough bread. Brought this to the staff's attention, and they said yeah this is focaccia bread. I just left things as is. My recommendation is for the staff to become knowledgeable on types of bread and make sure u list the actual bread used on the sandwich. Other than that, sandwich was ok nothing spectacular. I recommend to go to Coney Island West Restaurant. I like their sandwiches better their and cheaper too.

Thie has always been my go-to for a bite to eat in Avalon since I'm usually only on the island for about 2 hours at a time for work and I don't have time to eat at a sit-down type of restaurant. Hands down, my favorite item is the Holidaze which is their take on a Thanksgiving dinner inside a wrap... the thing that makes it out of this world is the stuffing! Highly recommend stopping in (you can't miss it if you take the Catalina Express over as it's at the dock) as their food is great and the staff have never been nothing but friendly when I stop in.

The first thing that stood out was the location. It's definitely not the polished, picture-perfect side of LA that many visitors expect. Walking from the parking lot, you're met with a mix of body odor, urine, and sewer smells. If you can get past that short walk, you're in for a much better experience once you step inside. We were told to expect a long wait, but fortunately there was no line when we arrived and we were seated right away. The restaurant itself has a classic, vintage deli feel that's part of its charm. It was clean, busy, and surprisingly well organized. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to answer all of our questions about the menu. We ordered the famous #19 pastrami with coleslaw and the #44 grilled pastrami with sauerkraut. There were four of us dining, and the group was split right down the middle--two preferred the #19, while my friend and I thought the #44 was the winner. Either way, it's safe to say the sandwiches are excellent and there's likely an option that will appeal to everyone. The prices were also more reasonable than I expected. The pastrami was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and sliced generously. Every bite lived up to the reputation. Overall, Langer's is a very solid deli and absolutely worth trying for the food alone. My only real drawback is the surrounding area. I didn't feel particularly comfortable outside the restaurant, although that may simply be because I'm not used to that part of LA. Once inside, however, the experience was enjoyable and the food definitely delivered on the hype.

They are pretty hefty sandwiches, and they do use quality ingredients. Even the bread is really good. I got the baba ghanoush, which I think was quite amazing, and I got there special of the day which was a club sandwich which I thought was good but I think the baba ghanoush was better. I also ended up getting a cookie on some other pastry, which was also really good. The cookie that they had was super thin and just delightful. The person behind the counter answered my questions about the pastries and gave his good advice on which ones were really good and he did not disappoint, and overall it seems like the people were friendly. The store is small and there are some tables inside very clean. Very cute. A bunch of tables outside as well and it looks like it is a popular spot because when I got there, there was a line but once I found parking and walked there there was no line. It does take some time so it's not super fast. And if you don't like to parallel park, you're gonna have to learn here. I don't live in the area, so I'm sad that I won't be able to eat at this place more often. However, if I am even remotely close, I'll probably stop by. Can't wait to try the other sandwiches that they have to offer and grab more sweet treats.
