So nice to find a restaurant with vegetarian/vegan options that is NOT a veggie burger. My daughter had the vegan smashed chickpea sandwich, I had a bite and it was delicious! The sweet potato fries were perfect. I had a non-veggie CB&A panini and my other daughter had the BBQ chicken. Both delicious. The dressing that came with my side salad, delicious! This place is a must!! Not only is ALL the food delicious, the owner Megan is awesome! It was nice meeting her on our trip to the island and chatting with her while enjoying her yummy sandwiches. Day 1 coming here the service was bad they barely acknowledged us and the girl taking our order had straight attitude. Still came back day 2 for the avocado toast and they were absolute b****es to us again. Unique, authentic creations that will literally make your mouth water with out adding pounds to your waist line or ruining your diet altogether. Home made ice teas, soups, salads and sandwiches. My husband, three kids and I really liked this place! There were enough choices for all five of our likes. As I am writing this review, it's been three weeks since we ate there. I was reminded of the restaurant because my daughter and I can't stop talking about the place and the delicious food. We love the atmosphere, service and especially the creative meals served! We also like that they were able to pack to go boxes for the beach or a hike. I highly recommend the tuna sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich, side salad and sweet potato fries. While walking back through town after a hike up the hill for a nice view of the bay we stopped in here for a drink and snack. I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings and the fact they had some fresh brewed iced teas available as well as a lemonade. I was a bit parched and tried a few of them and opted for the mango tea and hubby decided to get food and chose one of the fresh made soups of the day and a half sandwich which was very good with fresh produce and lots of meat which he gobbled down. The lady at the counter was super nice and the menu really had a lot to offer and prices were good. They had some seating inside as well as an outside patio they would bring your order out to. The bride and I ate here on our recent day date trip to Catalina. The gyro was tasty and certainly helped by the ice cold beer, which always takes better on a work day. Their "sides" aren't even sides though. Seriously, a side of macaroni salad comes in one of those little disposable dipping dishes; maybe two bites... I really liked this place! My husband and I recently took a trip to Catalina, and after spending a few days eating greasy,overpriced disgusting food we found this little cafe located on this cute little street. It had so many options of different salads and soups or sandwhiches. We ordered falafels with a great tahini sauce and gyros with yummy tzatziki which both were so delicious. They also had a great assortment of all natural sodas. They had a wonderful selection of wine champagne and beer and a cute little patio to sit on if you'd like. The woman who owns it was very nice and very sweet. I enjoy places that serve fresh, all natural,organic and other foods that are similar to that. I stopped here to get an iced tea. The iced tea dispenser was in the fridge and there was a sign that said "cups and lids are in the fridge, it's self serve". I look around and theres only lids. So I go up to the counter to ask the woman working there for more cups. She rudely says to me "cups are not free you pay for them." I told her I was looking for a cup for the iced tea in the fridge. She goes "Oh well you pay first and then I give you a cup. That's how this works." I show her the sign and she says "Oh I forgot to take it off". No apology for her rude behavior or anything. I ask if theres any sweetener and she says "the tea is unsweetened if you feel like it you can use some lemonade as sweetener." The tea tasted terrible. The service was horrible. This is my 2nd time out to Catalina and being a guy from the east coast I appreciate getting away from the NY hustle and bustle when I'm on vacation, but this place isn't in slow motion it's in rewind... The ordering process is that you go to the counter, order what you want then find a table on their patio to sit, no problem... We were a group of 6 for breakfast and we all order together. First thing I ask for is coffee and the response I get is "Oh, we're all out of coffee... The machine broke." What?? Granted, I understand that sh*t happens and things break, but it's a Saturday morning and you are a CAFE... Maybe have more than 1 coffee pot or if you think the one you have might be on the outs, go get a new one in time for your weekend rush? Whatever, we order our food and get a coffee to go from the coffee shop next door. We sit and we wait for our food... Then we wait... And wait... Finally, one order comes out, a few minutes another plate... By the time the 6th man got his breakfast, the first guy was already done. Then, one of the guys asks for an orange juice, and the reply was "Oh, we're all out of OJ". Wow, no OJ and no coffee at a cafe on Saturday morning... So while my friend is trying to figure out what he wants instead of OJ, the server just walks away mid conversation with him. We all looked at each other like "Is she joking?" On top of that, her attitude stunk. Oh and the food was mediocre... My egg sandwich was boring and bland, but the pancakes were actually pretty decent. read more

mmmm, easily some of the best food on the island! They have a variety of healthy foods like soups, salads and sandwiches. Its a nice change from all the buttered fried crap on the island. The portions are small, but its enough to make you full :) Also try their mango iced tea! Its delicious! I regret not getting a refill. It has a really homey feel. The owner makes everything herself and you can see her busily rushing back and forth in the kitchen. I got the chicken pesto sandwich pressed warm with the cucumber and carrot "salad" with sesame dressing. They were both really good! Note that the salad is more of a very small side, but that's okay since its some of the only food in the entire city that didn't make me feel sick. This place has horrible service! Granted we were warned from previous yelp reviews, we thought we would give them the chance to prove otherwise. First the red haired girl has such an angry face, definitely no smile at all. We were in line and she just squeezes by without saying pardon. After we order, the chicken salad sandwich comes out (nothing special...pretty bland) within 5 minutes, but the red haired lady says the spoons are inside the shop for my lentil soup. WTF really? You serve soup but require your customers to go get their own utensils??? This is basic restaurant curtesy. We wait another 5 min for the gyro. We saw the customers after us get their food so we went to check on our order. She said she didn't hear me order the gyro. Fine, we reorder. At this point we are pretty annoyed, but what tipped us over the edge was when we then realized they overcharged our first order ($7 special but charged $11). I point this out and the cashier gets someone else to help with the refund. She hands me back $1. Uh, how can tax be $3 on a $7 bill? So I ask and she recalculates and hands me back the correct change. Shady ! Lastly the gyro wasn't even sliced correctly, just a chunk of meat on one end and when I dug around, the other end was just a pile of sauce and huge slices of tomato! The flat bread was also not made the right way, just simply fell apart when I grabbed ( as it was suppose to be a wrapped gyro sandwich). At the seating area, although it is outside, they didn't even bother wiping the black dusty things off the tables. Got my purse and hands looking like I just came back from a mining job. Finding whole food plant based meals on an island laden with fish and seafood and beef is no small challenge. Pam and her cohorts make it simple for vegans and vegetarians alike. Soups are delicious and their falafel sandwiches are the best I've ever had! They are warm and welcoming and oh so accommodating to your dietary needs including gluten free and vegan. Sandwich is good (very limited options on the island) but the service is horrible. The woman working here (red head girl) is extremely rude. We always try to warm rude people up, but she is stone cold rude. Just keep that in mind if you plan to eat here. I would also avoid lunch time of possible cause they will be busy and even more rude probably. My wife did tell the owner what happened and she did apologize and was really nice to my wife. My suggestion is... If the red head girl is rude... Ask for the owner ASAP and don't deal with the rude girl. read more
