After several times of driving by saying...oh yeah! I wanted to go there...finally made it in. Previously, each time we attempted the line was over 40 minutes. Idk about you but when it's breakfast I can't wait that long or the hangries kick in. Last weekend we went in the wait was 20 minutes and wowwwwie so worth it... and more. Both of our meals were plentiful and so tasty. They were positively slammed the whole time we were there and everyone was so friendly! You wouldn't have know there were other customers because our wait-staff was prompt, super sweet, and patient while we decided what to eat. Food choices are affordable. Well managed staffing: we we early, onlybone waitperson, but she was *super*. Then, in half-hour intervals, additional help arrived, timed to match the growing number of patrons. Somebody is thinking. We shared a mimosa and an omlette, one of each was plenty for the two of us. Wow! What a great place to go for a "regular" or special lunch or brunch! Outstanding food paired with mimosas. You can't go wrong with that combination. While not a spectacular location (situated in a shopping center,) this place stands out. The only thing I could ask for would be a quieter, more peaceful outside space. My husband and I are regulars at the Rohnert Park Cafe Mimosa so were excited to tryout their new location here in Petaluma. The food was tasty, fresh and appealing. I ordered an omelette with chicken apple sausage, cheddar and avocado, my husband had the prime rib french dip. Definitely didn't disappoint! Our server was Anna, she was very friendly and attentive. We recently visited and ordered a French Dip sandwich with fries. in the past this sandwich was quite a nice size, enough to share or to take half home for later. Not the case anymore. The bread and meat have been reduced by at least a third of the original size and the price is now $20.00. The price increase is understandable with the rising cost of all food, but to also reduce the size? The food there is really good but it's getting hard to go out to eat anymore without paying a big check. A glass of ice tea is $4.00. Really? And no offer to refill. There is also a surcharge if you pay with a credit card. We'd like to eat there again but will think twice before we do. read more

My wife and I live exploring different breakfast spots in Sonoma and Marin counties, but when we don't want to risk going somewhere where the food might not be great, or the service isn't guaranteed to be amazing, we can always count on Cafe Mimosa in Petaluma. The mimosas are all excellent, we absolutely love the different eggs Benedict's they offer ( there are many great dishes, but the Benedict's always stand out to us) and the servers are always very polite and attentive. I can't recommend cafe mimosa enough if you are looking for an excellent breakfast, or if you are just wanting a fun breakfast drink ( or flight of drinks ). I have been to visit Cafe Mimosa a couple of times and it's pretty darn good. I have had the French Toast and Eggs Benedict and both have been delicious. The breakfast potato/wedges are worth the visit alone. Great service and very clean. Come early on the weekends as it gets pretty busy and they have you wait outside, so on a cold morning, not so good. read more

This is our favorite breakfast place in the county, we come every weekend. The food is excellent, they handle special requests well, there has been nothing we have not liked. Definitely go for the crab cake benedict on the weekends. The chorizo hash is also always a winner. The hospitality is top notch, everyone who works here is great (extra big shout out to Mariel for always providing perfect and friendly service!) The musical selection provides an energizing ambiance that is a great vibe to start the morning. If you have a dog, the outside seating is a good option. I love this place. It's rare to find a restaurant that makes everything from scratch...even the ketchup! The food is so fresh, tasted great, with an absolutely gorgeous presentation overall, definitely instagram worthy! I love their mimosa flavor variety and each comes with a different fun garnish. One bite of their chilaquiles, and I yelled "f__k!" I have no manners. I couldn't help it. I wasn't expecting the explosion. It was one of the best bites. Ever. No joke. A combo of ingredients in perfect ratio ... nothing overwhelmed the dish. Not too much of one thing. Mexican breakfasts are everything right with this world. CM's version of chilaquiles I could eat anytime of day. I'm a sucker for anything with poached eggs, oozy golden yolk begging for puncture, the squirt of sun on chips--bam! Yolk drizzles out onto their tortilla chips, tastes like a reduction of riches, simmering for hours. Insane flavors, spanking fresh, pristine: salsa verde, sings, bright, zingy, robust and rich. It's tangy, hits the back of the palate with satisfying smack. The dish of riches: a bed of chips smothered in salsa, layered with avocado slices, whole black beans, queso fresco, eggs. The avocado gods shine: not soft or hard, but firm with a bit of give--al dente of the fruit, lol :-) I hate when some restaurants are stuck in the 1980's: they vertically heap 100% of the food on the plate. VERTICALLY. Those of you who are old enough will remember this. Imagine all ingredients of the dish piled high, one by one, as if it's a lego challenge or some damn thing. It's irritating as hell. I'm so over vertical food. When our plate came to the table, the necessary parts were on top of each other, but the rest were thoughtfully on the side, e.g. the black beans, and the accoutrements of sour cream and pico. I love how the kitchen doesn't assume how much sour cream or pico de gallo I'm gonna want ... you know how some restaurant will pile it on top, as if they're mind readers and think they know what's best for me, like they're the boss of me? NOT! They brought out the plate of chilaquiles with two little steel ramekins of sour cream and pico de Gallo on the side. To portion these things myself is attention to detail, and it matters. When I ordered huevos rancheros at their RP location, they did the same thing. I love this because massive amounts on top is such a turn off. The chips, thin and delicate, not thick/grainy. You could get eggs another style, but, anyone who gets their eggs other than poached or sunny side up, is a simpleton. You need the egg yolk ready and willing to be pierced over the chips. You need the oozing. You just need it. Or what is there in this life? What. Is. There. Hello?? The menu also says "add rib eye steak" (for $10 more). Wait, whaaat? Steak on top of all that? to my I couldn't get it. I vowed to myself that after my cholesterol issues settle, I'm gonna go back for that damn rib eye atop that dish. We also got their vegetarian hash, mine with egg whites because that damn LDL; sooo good--generous slices of tomatoes and smashed whole red potatoes sautéed in rosemary garlic, red onions/chickpeas, with pesto sauce, which doesn't overwhelm the integrity of veggies. Superbly healthy, varied combination of ingredients, too much effort for me to make at home. The hallmark of this dish is nothing muddled or muddied here, just the unmistakably clean flavors of the vegetables shining through. Many places try too hard to make it "fancy," and it fails, e.g. if it's a veggie based dish, it should taste like vegetables, not whatever cloying flavor or sauce is in/on it. My husband, who has never met a sweet he didn't love and would welcome a sugar IV into his vein, got the French toast. Though he wanted the regular size, I forced him into getting the kids portion. They make it with sourdough, an unexpected twist to the usual, so adds a piquant undertone of balance in each bite. it's not one dimensionally sweet, and with the fresh berries, adds a piquant undertone of balance. Though I had only a bite, I could taste the complexity; it's lightly dusted with powdered sugar, which rather than compounding sweetness, gives texture. Served with syrup, I assume maple, which my husband wanted a vat. Generous portions, I ate leftovers for lunch for three days, with prices super reasonable. When ordering the hash, our server named biscuit as an option (instead of toast, etc.). Anyone who doesn't pick a biscuit (served with butter, jam and honey) ... is not human. The biscuit high as an Indian kite, airy, buttery, lightly browned. Beautiful. The interior bright, drenched in light, windows everywhere, warm and welcoming vibe. One of my fav things: cloth napkins elevate this place. No damn white lint. I love old-fashioned diners, which this is not, but they seem to have been inspired by places of yesteryear when the servers, as they sloshed a bit of coffee over the mugs, called you "Honey." Finally ate at Cafe Mimosa in Petaluma for breakfast, I was hungry after tennis. The service was excellent, the decore is very nice and everything appears very clean. More importantly the food as really good and a good price. I had the waffle with berries, one egg on the side with some sausage, as I said I was very hungry. The egg came out just as I requested over medium, the waffle was great and the chicken apple sausage was very tasty. I will have to try lunch soon. I highly recommend it. read more
