Went to PR for my bday. Was in town visiting in laws. GREAT FOOD! The burger was sublime. Tasty IPA. We had to sit outside since we had our dog, and it was chilly. The nice folks there kept trying to light the heaters, but wind blew them out. They gave us an extra dessert on the house to make up for us freezing. Yay!!! Try the bread pudding if you go. My friends and I had the Veggie Plate, one with chicken and one without, BBQ Chicken Wings, Caesar Salad, red wine and tea, and every dish was outstanding! I loved the squashes and portabella mushrooms and how the mushrooms were tangy in my Veggie Plate. The portions were so generous that I got at least 2 meals from it! Everything was very fresh. The service was good, the beer selection great, the viewing of the game not optimal. It's not a sports bar, so I get it, it's not designed for that. But the TV's aren't at a great viewing angle nor overly large. And I found the atmosphere to be less than energetic on the Sunday afternoon we were there (and on other occasions I've popped in). I have been to Pub Republic several times over the years and it has never failed in its service or quality of food. Everything I have ordered or have tasted has been excellent, the servers are great there... very efficient and friendly and they have a diverse menu, plenty of parking, and are one of the few restaurants in Petaluma that actually allow you to make reservations for lunch. All in all, it's a win- win situation and I recommend it to anyone who wants a great meal with great service. read more

If I could eat here everyday, I would! I cannot get enough of the crispy pork belly- i get one there to eat and I get one to go (and it rarely makes it home). The burger that had the balsamic glaze on it changed my life it was so good. The service is always friendly, and we bring our pooch and dine outside. They call it a beer garden but it's an outdoor patio next to a walking trail and flowers for ambiance. Lemonade is pretty generic. But overall, this place is yummyyy! Really great place to stop for dinner on our way to Guerneville! We both had a burger and one of the rotating adult beverages. We very much enjoyed our dinner. The only negative, we asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular with our burgers. We figured there might be a slight up charge, but we're shocked when our bill came! One-inch cubes of pork belly (basically bacon) with a carrot ginger puree, roasted shallots, pickled onion and jalapeno with an orange chili sauce. Nicely presented but I really wonder why they put five on the plate instead of four or six. How do you properly share five of something? What a wonderful little spot!! I had no idea this place was here and my intention was Starbucks since we are headed out of town. Service was excellent, menu had many options to choose from. I came into Pub Republic for a quick bite after a morning of wine tasting, and it did not disappoint. The inside had a lot of natural light, and I really enjoyed the ambiance. The outdoor seating also looked rather pleasant! I started with the ginger peach mimosa, which is delicious of you really like ginger. The hint of peach was minimal, and personally I loved it! The rest of my party did not. We ordered a two baskets of their nachos and they were incredible. The chips were house made potato chips, topped with a chipotle sour cream as well as other toppings. A friend ordered the burger to split, and while I did not have any it looked pretty good. I did find that the fries were a little bland but they weren't bad. There are lots of good options here and I do plan on returning in the spring to try the outdoor seating! read more

A group of 12 us stopped in for "blinner" around 4pm ish. We were sat right away, the service was fantastic "they got all our orders right and were very attentive" 5 stars!! The appetizers were just incredible, we ordered mash potato jalapeño taters "yes that's a mouth full to say". Trust me on this, ORDER THEM!! We also got the crispy pork belly, and the Cajun fried calamari "also excellent" the apps were seriously phenomenal. 5 Stars For my main meal I ordered there Pub burger + roasted garlic+ roasted red peppers + bacon "yes that's how I roll" I ordered it med rare "was cooked perfectly " unfortunately IMO the quality of the beef was sub par and the bun was on the soggy side. (Probably won't order that again) wifey ordered the Ahi sandwich "She had the Ahi seared" she loved the sandwich unfortunately (again) the bun was slightly soggy "maybe if the buns were toasted?" Posting this so the message can get back to the cooks from Friday night. Our server asked us how we wanted the salmon prepared. Which we asked for medium well. Regardless chiefs should be able to prepare the dish without making the outside burnt. We didn't complain or ask for a refund, because we are in the industry and it's just not our style to get free food. But our server saw that the chief should have never put that salmon on our plate, and overall took care of it without us even knowing. So the sever is a 5 star, but the chiefs should be made aware that this is not ok. Our other food was fine. Drinks were good. And we will be back. Just may not order the salmon again. read more
