One bite of their chilaquiles, and I yelled "f__k!" I have no manners. I couldn't help it. I wasn't expecting the explosion. It was one of the best bites. Ever. No joke. A combo of ingredients in perfect ratio ... nothing overwhelmed the dish. Not too much of one thing. Mexican breakfasts are everything right with this world. CM's version of chilaquiles I could eat anytime of day. I'm a sucker for anything with poached eggs, oozy golden yolk begging for puncture, the squirt of sun on chips--bam! Yolk drizzles out onto their tortilla chips, tastes like a reduction of riches, simmering for hours. Insane flavors, spanking fresh, pristine: salsa verde, sings, bright, zingy, robust and rich. It's tangy, hits the back of the palate with satisfying smack. The dish of riches: a bed of chips smothered in salsa, layered with avocado slices, whole black beans, queso fresco, eggs. The avocado gods shine: not soft or hard, but firm with a bit of give--al dente of the fruit, lol :-) I hate when some restaurants are stuck in the 1980's: they vertically heap 100% of the food on the plate. VERTICALLY. Those of you who are old enough will remember this. Imagine all ingredients of the dish piled high, one by one, as if it's a lego challenge or some damn thing. It's irritating as hell. I'm so over vertical food. When our plate came to the table, the necessary parts were on top of each other, but the rest were thoughtfully on the side, e.g. the black beans, and the accoutrements of sour cream and pico. I love how the kitchen doesn't assume how much sour cream or pico de gallo I'm gonna want ... you know how some restaurant will pile it on top, as if they're mind readers and think they know what's best for me, like they're the boss of me? NOT! They brought out the plate of chilaquiles with two little steel ramekins of sour cream and pico de Gallo on the side. To portion these things myself is attention to detail, and it matters. When I ordered huevos rancheros at their RP location, they did the same thing. I love this because massive amounts on top is such a turn off. The chips, thin and delicate, not thick/grainy. You could get eggs another style, but, anyone who gets their eggs other than poached or sunny side up, is a simpleton. You need the egg yolk ready and willing to be pierced over the chips. You need the oozing. You just need it. Or what is there in this life? What. Is. There. Hello?? The menu also says "add rib eye steak" (for $10 more). Wait, whaaat? Steak on top of all that? to my I couldn't get it. I vowed to myself that after my cholesterol issues settle, I'm gonna go back for that damn rib eye atop that dish. We also got their vegetarian hash, mine with egg whites because that damn LDL; sooo good--generous slices of tomatoes and smashed whole red potatoes sautéed in rosemary garlic, red onions/chickpeas, with pesto sauce, which doesn't overwhelm the integrity of veggies. Superbly healthy, varied combination of ingredients, too much effort for me to make at home. The hallmark of this dish is nothing muddled or muddied here, just the unmistakably clean flavors of the vegetables shining through. Many places try too hard to make it "fancy," and it fails, e.g. if it's a veggie based dish, it should taste like vegetables, not whatever cloying flavor or sauce is in/on it. My husband, who has never met a sweet he didn't love and would welcome a sugar IV into his vein, got the French toast. Though he wanted the regular size, I forced him into getting the kids portion. They make it with sourdough, an unexpected twist to the usual, so adds a piquant undertone of balance in each bite. it's not one dimensionally sweet, and with the fresh berries, adds a piquant undertone of balance. Though I had only a bite, I could taste the complexity; it's lightly dusted with powdered sugar, which rather than compounding sweetness, gives texture. Served with syrup, I assume maple, which my husband wanted a vat. Generous portions, I ate leftovers for lunch for three days, with prices super reasonable. When ordering the hash, our server named biscuit as an option (instead of toast, etc.). Anyone who doesn't pick a biscuit (served with butter, jam and honey) ... is not human. The biscuit high as an Indian kite, airy, buttery, lightly browned. Beautiful. The interior bright, drenched in light, windows everywhere, warm and welcoming vibe. One of my fav things: cloth napkins elevate this place. No damn white lint. I love old-fashioned diners, which this is not, but they seem to have been inspired by places of yesteryear when the servers, as they sloshed a bit of coffee over the mugs, called you "Honey." Finally ate at Cafe Mimosa in Petaluma for breakfast, I was hungry after tennis. The service was excellent, the decore is very nice and everything appears very clean. More importantly the food as really good and a good price. I had the waffle with berries, one egg on the side with some sausage, as I said I was very hungry. The egg came out just as I requested over medium, the waffle was great and the chicken apple sausage was very tasty. I will have to try lunch soon. I highly recommend it. read more

We popped in and had the chicken fajita sandwich!! The staff awesome the decor top notch!! The sandwich was awesome had a choice of salad soup or fries. We chose salad. Green salad with grape tomato's cranberries sliced almond fresh and tasty! We both finished half the salad half the sandwich. Have enough left for dinner. The chicken was marinated perfectly! The mimosa sampler is a great way to decide which one is your favorite (mines the grapefruit) and I was pleasantly surprised that they provided ample champagne so it didn't just taste like a glass of juice. I ordered the chorizo hash & it was incredibly flavorful! My husband had the chilaquiles and cleaned his plate. Great Service! Very friendly staff that know how to wow their customers. Our drink order was taken just after we were seated and arrived within a few minutes. The restaurant is very clean, has quite a few booths, a couple of large tables, and has just a few tables outside too. The outdoor patio is surrounded by very large potted plants and some shrubs. The food was served promptly and at the perfect temperature. My order of soft poached eggs and hash was cooked perfectly. My wife's Egg Benedict looked amazing, and I was told the seasonings and flavors were perfectly paired with the hollandaise. This was our second time here and it was even better than we remembered it when I wrote my 8/8/2023 review. We had friends from Nebraska and Colorado visit for a total of seven and the food, service and ambiance couldn't be beat. One lady in our group had a raspberry mimosa and two had mango and they all enjoyed them (the four guys only had coffee or water). I and two others had the lightest most delicious waffles and crisp Applewood bacon! One couple had the veggie hash and they loved it (as a matter of fact, it looked so good that next time I will order that, and one in our group ordered it to go for her dinner tonight). Another lady had the French toast and her husband had the crab cake Benedict. Two thumbs up from them as well. And finally, a shout-out to our server, Kenya! I told her midway into our meal, "You are a terrific waitress!" She really appreciated it. I'm so glad we finally decided to stop in! I typically avoid restaurants located within strip malls, but the great reviews on YELP were encouraging. The place is shiny clean and bright, and the staff were so helpful and cheerful.! We shared the Mimosa sampler so that we could try three flavors. We wil have to come back to try even more flavors. The waitress was right. The raspberry was the best! We ordered an omelette and the Prime Melt Sandwich. The sandwich was humongous and came with our choice of soup, salad, or fries. We went with the tomato soup. So good!!! The sandwich was filled with about two inches of juicy meat topped with mushrooms, onions and melted cheese. Oh my! When we saw the size of the sandwich, we decided to share it along with the soup. We were still stuffed and only had two bites each of the omelette. Not a problem, we have an amazing breakfast to look forward to tomorrow now. It was also delicious by the way. So, in short, the food is tasty fresh, cooked on point, and entrees are definitely large enough to share. The mimosas all tasted like they were made with fresh, pureed fruit. We celebrated a friend's birthday at Petaluma's Cafe Mimosa. The food was great! I had a huge portion of fish & chips, the fries being truffle fries which were perfect. A friend had the Santa Fe chicken sandwich with very generous portions The birthday girl had the Cafe Mimosa strawberry salad with very fresh greens, strawberries, walnuts, grilled chicken and a creamy strawberry dressing. She loved it! Another friend had a chicken quesadilla which was huge. We ordered the virgin mimosas which were good and the birthday girl's mimosa was free in honor of her birthday. We enjoy eating breakfast often at Mimosa in Petaluma. We have eaten in many breakfast restaurants in Sonoma County over the years and now find Mimosa our best choice. The food is exceptional and the service is outstanding by all the service personnel especially from Mariel and Dina. Both are friendly, efficient, and meticulous when it comes to taking care of us. We continue to bring our family and friends to eat here and suggest all people we meet do as well. The atmosphere in the restaurant makes us all very cozy. The lights are bright enough to see what we are eating without blinding us. You also have a choice to sit outside and basked in the sunshine or shade. We recommend the breakfast burrito, chicken fried steak, and crab and veggie Benedict but anything on the menu will be delicious.
