I come here often, and the employees are usually very kind and welcoming. However, during my recent visit, one employee had a rude attitude, which was disappointing. I really appreciate all the employees, especially the girl with the red hair, who is always friendly, kind, and welcoming to customers. I hope everyone can continue to provide the same great customer service.
POV: you just found the cutest space-themed café in SoCal Astra Bean Coffee had me at SPACE THEMED We tried the Pistachio Comet Coffee, Stardust Ube Coffee, and Double Mango Eclipse Matcha and YESSS they were as good as they looked. Their coffee is Vietnamese coffee-based too, so you already know it's stronggg They also have matcha, fruit teas, boba + more! Super cozy, free WiFi, and plenty of space to yap with friends or lock in and get work done
I was pretty impressed as a first time visitor. Located in one of the very busy shopping centers on South St, this place it worthy of a visit. The theme is cute, the inside has a nice open concept, ordering was easy (either at kiosk or with employee), and prices were affordable. The menu was unique! They even had a kids menu with items that would be intriguing to adults. I ordered the most popular drink at it was on point. Served with sweetest level 60% was right for a matcha beverage. Service was fast. When my drink was ready, I also revived a coupon. A good way to bring customers back. This seemed to be photo spot for e c etc kid that walked in. It was kinda fun to see. I'm definitely interested in exploring more of the menu.
Make your next space adventure for coffee towards the Astra Bean in the city of Artesia, which is the 3rd location of this coffee branch and is a cute concept for space & beyond. I ordered the Cosmic Salted Cream Coffee which was a Vietnamese "Phin" coffee with a sweet & creamy flavor to complement the salty bitterness of the coffee. The service was fast and efficient given that it was only one employee at the time and she did a super galactic job at navigating on her own. The decor was very Instagram worthy and unique as far as no other coffee shops had this design or kitschy decor. So if you want to try coffee that is out of this world yet local for Artesia & Cerritos residents, then try Astra Bean and taste the milky way!
New drink spot in Artesia! I've been seeing this place on Yelp, but haven't had the chance to stop by their shop in OC. So glad that they have this closer to home because I love it-- literally upon the first sip of my drinks! For the drinks, we got the milky way coconut avocado, pistachio cloud camellia, nebula berry soursop, double mango comet camellia, matcha cloud jasmine oolong (not pictured), and comet grape camellia (not pictured). I was able to try the pistachio cloud camellia and the matcha cloud jasmine oolong. For the pistachio cloud camellia, I love the floral taste that comes from the camellia and the balance of the pistachio cloud with little bits of pistachio that come through as you sip the drink. For the matcha cloud jasmine oolong, I can definitely see why it's #1 on their Top 10 drinks because again the balance is perfect-- there's no overpowering of the matcha or jasmine oolong and it doesn't taste watered down like other places. This drink kind of reminds me of Molly Tea's jasmine matcha latte, but Astra Bean's has a stronger matcha and tea taste (which I love)! Plus that it's a spacious location with many seats and outlets. The space theme is adorable with the astronaut and the moon on the wall. Service is wonderful-- the lady working today in the afternoon was very kind. Drinks also came out quickly, and the bag carriers are so cute and sturdy. Highly recommend!
I got a few drinks to try. Personal favorite is the: 1. Double Mango Matcha Eclipse - matcha quality is there but I really loved the mango cream top. It reminded me of a Filipino dessert "Mango Graham". The REAL mango flavor was there. Had mango chunks too! 2. Ube Coffee - not a coffee drinker but again, the ube cream top did not fail. Did not taste artificial or bland at all! There's a variety of options to choose from. Coffee, matcha, refreshers etc! It's a nice place to hangout. Located in a food plaza in Cerritos/Artesia. So there's parking. The space themed concept is cute! Can't help but I wanna touch the moon, it looks real! Lol I also noticed one of the cups had a moon texture feel which was also cute!! I would come back to try more. They have a lot of promos. Earlier we were able to get a free drink for anyone below 21 years old for my little sister. $3 for kiddie drinks! They also have coupons to win. I'm coming back!
Located off South St. in Cerritos. Parking is challenging here with all the food businesses in this plaza just like the other one along South St. by the Los Cerritos Center area. I had to park on the other side behind the restaurants. This place is really cool and has a cool space theme to it hence the name Astra. The gal working was friendly and helpful. I got the double mango eclipse matcha it was good. Overall a cool place here I'll be back to try another drink they offer.
Durian avocado is great! Expensive normally but half off when we want. Top is durian forward in flavor. Not too sweet ( they didn't ask about sweetness).it was fairly thick. Would go back. Not the type of place to work, not comfy chairs and it's more like small bistro style. Some chairs dont have backs and the tables are too low for computers. Either way though it's a cute place to hang out with friends or to just get drinks. Seems like they're good quality!
I had to give this place a few tries to see how I really Felt about them since I did try them first during soft opening. During the soft opening, I thought their matcha was a bit watered down so I had to try other drinks to see if it was just that. Their viet coffee is pretty good, standard viet coffee. My husband likes their ube def more than the pistachio phin coffee one. He said the Milky Way was decent but the ube was his favorite. We tried a few drinks since they had a special and had a variety of choices for the kiddos too. My kids said the brown sugar one was a bit too sweet but they do have modifications for their drinks which would be great if you want that option. I just don't like their matcha. I had their double matcha also and pistachio one and both of them I could barely taste any matcha. From what I did see when making it they have them premade. They don't have the matcha made to order it's already cold inside the fridge which I notice was the same for most drinks that we tried. Service wise, I was a bit disappointed the 2nd time I came because they prioritized two people after me for their drinks. Those were 4 drinks total and I ordered 5 drinks. If they just did mine first I wouldn't have waited that long and noticed that the others AFTER me got their drinks first. Even if their drinks may be easier to make, I should have gone first since they were able to make 4 drinks and barely made my 5. That definitely dropped a star for me. Other than that, the place is clean. Cute decorations. Parking is hard due to their surrounding restaurants but it is what it is for that. That's beyond their control. Good luck and hoping for the best for you guys!
Saw this place on Yelp after getting malatang and wanted to try! I went with a big group so I got to try a lot of drinks. The decor inside is very nicely themed with cool chairs and a giant moon! I really liked the mix of jasmine oolong and matcha foam it actually works really well together. I would not try to drink with Cheetos on it, that was not very pleasant on my taste buds. The service was very fast and they give you a one dollar voucher for every drink you buy!
I love the vibes, service is great, with a wide selection of menus. However, the drinks came out too sweet it tastes just pure sugar. I will definitely go back again but perhaps ask for less sweet next time.
This is their third location, though their other two locations are closer to me this was my first time having it. All drinks were half off when I stopped by. I tried their best selling drink: Jasmine Matcha. It was super floral, the matcha flavor was very light and the sweetness was perfect. They have a good amount of indoor seating and it feels very spacious. ig: @cravingswithcat
Sad to see the previous tenants go but was excited to try this new addition. They redesigned the location with a astral theme and even redid the bathroom. We ordered two of the seasonal mango drinks and two from their "Top 10" line. We were surprised to see cheetos on the cheese foam but made sense when combined with the rest of the flavors, however can be a miss for some people. The service was quick and the red haired cashier helped us through it all so I think we will come back.

One of the best boba shops I've been to! The drinks are fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The boba is perfectly chewy, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the shop is clean and welcoming. Great prices for the quality. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend! read more

After finishing a seafood boil, my boyfriend and I were craving something refreshing, especially a good matcha. As we were leaving the shopping center, we spotted a Cybertruck with a really cool wrap that said Astra Bean. It immediately caught our attention, and moments later we noticed a shop with the same name. Curiosity got the best of us, so we decided to check it out. I pulled up the Yelp menu, and within minutes we were sold. Walking inside, we loved the atmosphere--it has a fun, modern space-inspired theme that's unlike anything we've seen before. The shop was clean, inviting, and the staff greeted us with warm, friendly service. My boyfriend ordered the Matcha Cloud Jasmine Oolong Tea, and I ordered the Pistachio Comet Matcha. Both drinks were absolutely delicious! My Pistachio Comet Matcha was smooth, creamy, lightly sweet, and incredibly refreshing. The matcha had a rich flavor without being bitter, and the pistachio complemented it perfectly. My boyfriend loved his drink as well and kept saying how balanced and refreshing it was. We're always on the lookout for great matcha spots, and Astra Bean definitely earned a place on our favorites list. Sometimes the best places are the ones you stumble upon by accident! We'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend if you're a matcha lover or just looking for a unique tea shop with great vibes and excellent customer service. read more

I got the double mango comet camellia, saturn's durian avocado, and ciimson dragon fruit. There was a bit of a wait since it was soft opening, but the drinks were good. Such a cute spot! definitely worth visiting, especially if it's your first time! I ordered i think it's called the iced Oreo Matcha Brûlée and added brown sugar boba, and it was really good. The matcha flavor was strong, which I personally love, and it wasn't overly sweet. The crunchy Oreos added was a nice sweet treat. Also shoutout to the worker was also really kind and helpful when I was deciding what to order. The whole place has an adorable space-themed vibe, with small space theme seating and a fun spaceman mascot that adds so much character. The aesthetic is honestly part of the experience! read more

Right: pistachio comet coffee left: Oreo eclipse matcha brûlée. I like that the matcha wasn't overpowered by the brûlée.The space theme is cool and different from all the surrounding cafes. Definitely recommend! read more
