Cuban empanadas are unique and quite different from Chilean or Argentine ones, seasoned differently. One Mojito led into a delicious Margarita and the entree order. My spouse ordered the Ropa Vieja, a monumental seasoned and shredded meat that came with the ubiquitous Congrí a black bean-colored rice dish. I had the Masitas de Puerco, the marinated pork morsels in a sofrito sauce heavy on the garlic. Ohhhhhh yes.... A dish that I hadn't had since 1967 when I left Cuba as a child. I added a ration of tostones which came unstuffed just as I wanted them. Dessert was the Arroz con Leche, and this one was genuine, and the Pan de Calatrava, a custard-type rice dessert that made our mouths water....
