This place is an absolute gem! Immediately walking in I was greeted with a smile! When it came to ordering- the barista, Mike was extremely helpful and provided the best and honest recommendations. He was very knowledgeable! I ordered the caramel vanilla latte extra hot (I love my drinks like HOT). Usually when I go to a coffee shop, I ask for extra hot and it's still lukewarm to me. However at Cafe Noto, that was not the case. My drink was made to perfection! It wasn't overly sweet, still can taste the delicious coffee, and was nice and hot! I ordered a small and that was a perfect size! I notice the new hip coffee places give the smallest cups, but not this place! Great size for a good price. Totally underwhelmed. Considering its the only locally owned coffee shop in the area, I expected more. Considering the Santa Rosa Cycling Club recommends riders go out of their way to stop off here, one would assume that they wouldn't give me a blank look when I asked to have my cookies on a plate and my coffee in a ceramic cup for here/not to go dressed in cycling gear head to toe. (I certainly know where YOU can put it.) Very little in the display case looked very interesting for an afternoon sweet fix. Come to think of it, the remaining morning baked goods looked like they came from a really lousy strip mall donut shop. Atmosphere is what one would expect from a local cafe. Unfortunately if one has no patrons hanging out there on a lazy Saturday afternoon, there's minimal ambiance. They make jokes on their blackboard about no Starbucks speak allowed. Here's my latest update: I met a few weeks ago with Margaret, the owner of the cafe. She reached out to me, wanting more feedback about my customer experience. I didn't expect that -- that was very pro-active and gracious of her. She listened to my concerns, which I truly appreciated. Since then, I have visited Cafe Noto several times, and I have seen a lot of positive change. For one, the quality of the drinks are made with consistently high quality. The staff seem more friendly and professional. There's always a fresh, varied selection of bagels and other breakfast/lunch items. Also, Cafe Noto is trying to do hold more music events to draw in folks. It's also a bit quieter at the cafe, so you can better hold a conversation or do work on your computer. These are all very welcome changes! This coffeehouse is a fixture in the Windsor community, one that is independent and eschews that slick, corporate veneer (I'm looking at you, Starbucks). So next time you want a cup of coffee or wondering where you should meet a friend for tea, breakfast or lunch, wander in here. You'll be glad you did. So I'm a big coffee drinker but I usually go to the same place all the time But I recently Discover a new place, since my coffee place moved to a new location I decided to try Cafe Noto The cafe has such an inviting atmosphere from the moment you walk in, there is a couch so one can relax or simply mingle with friends, the coffee here is so good, not to mention the pastries, I love coming here on the weekends for my Vanilla Latte, They also offer Breakfast Burritos for $8.00, I like to support local small business and I've fallen in love with the coffee in this place and I love the heart that is designed on my coffee, breakfast burritos are pretty good I should say and the muffins are delicious, my grand daughter loves their hot chocolate and my daughter the Chai Tea. This is definitely a place to come if one wants to enjoy a good cup of coffee and relax. If ever in Windsor I highly recommend this pace for a good cup of coffee:) read more

I walk in and read on the big board "No Starbucks Logos or Lingo Please." Five stars on that alone. If that means I am a whore for anything dismissive of corporations, then I'm a whore for anything dismissive of corporations. As for my experience there. I went there twice on a recent trip. Ordered green tea both times. Good both times. Clean bathroom which is a good sign. I would love to go back whenever I may be in Windsor again. read more

Although I was disappointed by the workers, young lady who attended me was very rude, while I tried not really acknowledge it I was disturbed by the way the coworkers were inappropriate with each other during work hours, i didn't catch the young ladys name but the male worker was named Giovani, Guillermo probably don't recall the name honestly I could be wrong, Workers shouldn't horseplay like that in my opinion. read more

I used to work at theJaded Toad and when I started early, one of the staff would always come over to Cafe Noto to get everybody breakfast and drinks. I have always ordered their hot chocolate. It's the perfect mixture of chocolate and milk. I haven't been here in over a year and decided to stop by this morning. So happy I did. Such a cozy coffee shop. Yummmmmm, glad we stumbled upon this cafe. I got an iced dirty chai with almond milk which was eh, but my boyfriend got a black and white mocha and it was DELICIOUS. I'm jealous I didn't order it myself. The bagels were fresh and toasted, very good. If I am ever back in town, I'll be back to try something new. read more

It is a bit pricey but they are a nice quaint local business. I don't drink coffee so the hot cup of hot chocolate is very delicious!

I love how this cafe is right across from a park. The a/c was a perfect temp and a cozy environment to hang out. Bunch of nice tables and even a couch with a mini fireplace. Mike the barista was lovely and I appreciated how he greeted me. He was present with me and very kind, an authentic soul. I hope to return when im back in town :) read more

As a huge coffee enthusiast, I am always on the look for good coffee and this was quality coffee!! The breakfast burrito wasn't as great as I expected though. I wish they had more of a variety of pastries and light breakfast. Other than that, it's a great place! Man... I'm the snobbiest coffee snob I know. The coffee here is 5 star IMO. I'm here for work, found this place on Yelp. I saw they had only 3.5 stars but gave them a shot anyway. My poison is the iced latte- one of the best I've ever had here. I picked up cups of coffee for co workers- they said it was dynamite! I didn't read the reviews that got this place 3.5 stars, but their coffee is 5 star to me, 3 co workers and (3) of my family members that came to visit. Coffee was mediocre at best, but the customer service was worse. So after waiting over 10 minutes for and iced coffee (that's right, ice cubes and already made coffee from a jug), another customer asked me how I was doing. I said, "been waiting a really long time for an iced coffee." Apparently the cashier didn't like what I said, and preceded to lecture me on not telling other customers that I'd been waiting a long time. I couldn't believe it. Then she said she would appreciate it if I didn't say anything like that the next time I came in. Told her not to worry..... I'd never be back in after that! read more

Cafe Noto is a wonderful stopover on the way to Healdsburg. On a cold, overcast, drippy day, the cafe is a nice place to stop for a hot breakfast. My office is in the Town Green and one of the nice things is that we can walk to a handful of restaurants and coffee shops. The bad thing is that out of a dozen or so establishments there are only one or two at the most that are worth the effort. Last week we wanted a quickie lunch, so I figured we would buzz in here. Got there a few minutes before noon and was standing in line about 3 deep. The menu board hangs above the counter and there was only one person doing much of anything. The person in front of me obviously had never been there and was asked if they made sandwiches or what they had on the board was it. Well.....".you see is what you get" and "if it isn't up there we don't have it" is not the best answer in the world. Looking at the refrigerated display counter then had almost nothing except 5 plastic wrapped bagels and a few non discript something or others. What I though would be my next lunch place turned out to be a place I would never had a reason to return to. It looks like a throwback to someones messy living room where they have a few friends hang out, sitting around on the computer, BS'ing and having a few customers come in to disrupt their reverie was the norm. If you want coffee, walk two more blocks to Starbucks and if you want a sandwich walk to Starbucks or the Market on the main drag. I don't understand why a business owner would want his business portrayed in this manner, unless it is a place that they can lose money to hide some other operation. I will not be back, and I a sorry that I ever walked in there. On that block there is already one corner restaurant that closed up after a year , and if you read the reviews on Yelp, you could have predicted that. I have a prediction on this place.....it will continue to lose money until they close the doors or replace the employees and have a change of attitude. read more

Did you know that coffee is the most heavily pesticide-sprayed crop in the world? So while in Windsor for the Half Marathon last weekend, I was thrilled to walk by Cafe Noto and see that they feature organic beans. I have been on the hunt for a good espresso since the day we landed from Europe. Maybe it was just the bad sleep in a hotel the night before or getting up super early for my husband's race that morning but regardless, I had the BEST Americano I've had since arriving in the US! Thank you!! We didn't try anything else but I will say the cupcakes in their cooler were a frightening neon color and not all that appealing -- although instantly caught the eye of my five-year-old so perhaps that's the point. :) read more

The customer service here is horrible. The lady really isn't friendly. People like this shouldn't work with the public. I always love Supporting locally owned businesses so I always like to go to these smaller coffee shops but the coffee was only ok. My son got some patries and it wasn't even good. Coffee is vey good, food is better than Starbucks. However they have had the same negative issues for way too long. Service is slow, so if u are in a hurry this is not the place to go. Today we got our food when we were almost done with our coffees. Wi-fi has always been pretty bad. Garden area could be a gem, however it is not kept well; dead plants or about to die, weeds all over, some of which are dead and some alive. Broken umbrellas etc. The large refrigerator in the shop has been out of commission for months. It seems like the owners are bad business people or just don't care. The staff is always pleasant so we always leave a tip because we understand that these shortcomings have probably nothing to do with them. read more

I needed coffee. Ok, well maybe I didn't NEED it but I wanted it and on a warm day an iced latte was calling my name. Yelp showed me what was closest and I stopped by for some organic coffee. You can park right in front without paying a meter but I imagine on the weekend the spots fill up fast. It was a Monday morning and there was barely anyone in the place. The employee that helped me was nice but I could tell she was still training. They had some breakfast sandwiches in the case that looked good and it said they made all of their food in house which is awesome. I ordered the smallest iced latte (16oz) and it was strong but tasty. They didn't put too much ice which is nice because who wants a watered down latte? Not me. They have a decent amount of seating and the cafe gets a good amount of natural light from the large windows. If you're in the area and need a coffee or a snack you should definitely give this cafe a try. read more

I was so hopeful as this is the only coffee shop on the Windsor Town Green but it was such a letdown. The coffees are ok and so is the food. They have breakfast sandwiches and wraps that appear to be already prepared so they just heat them up. The person I was with ordered a latte and they gave her black coffee. We didn't realize until we had already left. It's a shame Starbucks closed. I'm not really a fan of Starbucks but would prefer it over this shop. read more

Went for the first time on a very hot morning to meet a friend who was visiting the area. They had a nice patio area to sit outside, with umbrellas and a view of the village green and plenty of parking in front and on the side street. The iced mocha was so flavorful! I liked how the coffee had a toasty flavor. I definitely want to come back and try the hot coffee now! We also ordered a pastry to share. It looked like a standard morning bun with pecans on top, but it was very fresh and tender, and delicious! Cafe Noto is a really great discovery, I'm so happy to have found it and can't wait to come back! read more

I don't frequent cafes very often, but I love this local place. I bring friends from out of town here who want to avoid the Super Chains. It's great to stop in and get a hot chocolate for the kiddos, a sweet treat, hot tea, etc. Friendly people behind the counter and spacious, clean and comfortable environment. The WiFi is USELESS. As a student, I go to MANY cafes. I very rarely run into cafe internet issues in this day and age. It's really frustrating to go to a cafe in order to study, spend $4 on a drink, and then find out AFTER the fact that the internet is horrible. :( If they want to outcompete the Starbucks nearby, they seriously need to figure out their internet (because, let's be honest, many people pay for overpriced coffee in cafes in order to get work done, not because coffee is complicated to make at home). They have three types of breakfast burritos, green chili, black beans, and bacon. When I asked if I could have all three on one burrito I was told, "we don't make our burritos here, and we have no more bacon ." At 9a.m. they are already sold out. I also came in for donuts, and then I was told "we have donuts every day except Sunday. " But that was not on their menu and it was not on Yelp online. Zero stars off possible. The art gallery changes from time to time, it is always beautiful against the lively colored walls. Recently, a couple MORE Starbucks opened up in Windsor,one in the town green, across from Noto, and next to the Grill, where locals take in Breakfast. BOO on Starbucks! Noto serves up Taylor Made Organic, Fair trade, Sustainable grown Coffee, and if you want a latte that is done right, this is your place. The only good thing about this cafe is it's location, in my opinion. I absolutely use to love going to Noto when they first opened many years ago. I Rarely go nowadays because I do not like any of the food options and have had several drinks made incorrectly. I'm writing a review now because my friend and I were desperate for coffee the other day and on a time crunch so we tried it with our fingers crossed. Both specialty hot beverages came out luke warm and one tasted badly. She went inside to get her drink remade. I've tried numerous times suggesting that they carry much tastier food items, maybe fresher bakery goods.(I've had some pretty dry pastries as well) I wish they would step it up or move out. read more

Cute, local cafe with good coffee. I always pass on the food as it doesn't look appealing to me. A nice place to go study or catch up with friends. Sometimes it's nice to get away from Starbucks for awhile. The service is alright. I would prefer if they were a little more friendly. I've been here a couple of times and was never really pleased with their coffee. Today, I met a colleague, and was hesitant to make this the meeting spot, but Windsor doesn't have a lot of coffee shops, and this one has the best ambiance. However - my opinion has completely changed now that they are serving Black Oak Coffee!! This is a fantastic coffee producer out of Ukiah, and they are really making a name for themselves. So happy to see that Cafe Noto is serving it- and it has made a world of difference for them. I will definitely return. read more
