We came here for breakfast and the food did not disappoint! Very tasty food and reasonably priced. Only giving three stars because of the service, while our food came out in a timely manner our waitress did not seem interested in actually serving our table, it seemed like we were more of a hassle than customers. She seemed to rush by our table and just dropped the check off without even saying much. I understand the lack of staffing but that is no real excuse for treating a customer like a hassle. We came in for breakfast at 10am on a Saturday & sat right down. Bright room with lots of well spaced tables & booths. They have super cheerful staff that are very attentive. Our waitress, Crystal, was so nice & kept up with coffee refills for the room. She kindly accommodated my request for eggless egg sandwich & it was delicious. Place is a total ripoff. I intentionally drove to Mansfield from the Foxboro Sports Center because I was hoping for a good cup of coffee without going to Starbucks. I ordered a medium black coffee, and it was $4.01. The coffee sucked. I could have gone to Dunkin for crappy coffee and paid less. While I was waiting for my $4 coffee, I looked at the menu. Truly a great breakfast. My wife had the banana bread French toast and could not stop raving about it. I had the Nantucket oatmeal which was also excellent . Both kids really liked there waffles. Especially the banana split one. Service was prompt. Wait was within range of what we were told. We waited in a beautiful park across the street. I was in the area and wanted to try a local restaurant for breakfast. Simple decor and a chalkboard full of special pancakes greet you as you enter. There was a buzz within the dining room. After looking through the extensive menu, I ordered the New England breakfast that came with eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and three pancakes. The eggs were scrambled well but overcooked (brown on the bottom) and the potatoes were over salted. However, the pancakes were some of the best I've had. The wait staff seemed attentive but only refilled our coffees once and, before we finished our meals, the check was delivered to the table which I find annoying in any restaurant. Loved it! Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is beautiful and modern (and bigger than you think! ). Even though there were a lot of people waiting we were seated almost instantly. The food was just amazing! I ordered a veggie omelete and the veggies were cooked throughout into the egg (not like a lot of places that just dump the veggies on top of an egg and wrap it). The homefries were fresh cut and grilled and the toast was to die for (I'm a toast fan, haha). The thing I liked about the toast was that it was soft and puffy (not thin, hard, and burnt like a lot of places). The food came out very quickly. It was a comfortable atmosphere and the food was excellent, definitely want to come here again. Great little Gem! Went on a Sunday at 11 am and only had to wait 20min. Not bad at all. The food was great and the portions were so big I needed a togo box : ) The Corned beef hash was OK. Not homemade so I'll save u the trouble, but everything else was absolutely delish. Home fries were awesome, Pancakes were fluffy and the coffee cups were filled pretty quickly considering how busy it was. It gets filled up quickly and it can be hard to find parking, but if you're a local to Mansfield you know this already. Btw, The sandwiches, fries and onion rings looked good too from what I saw on others peoples plates. LoL read more

We stopped at this quaint little "main street" type cafe between basketball games due to location and positive Yelp reviews. It was busy at 1PM on. Saturday, with people getting both breakfast and lunch (which is served all day). The space is surprising inside. It looks tiny on the outside, but it's quite spacious, airy and bright inside. We were seated immediately, but had to wait a long time for service. The wait tended to be a theme as once ordered the food took a while to arrive as well. Once it did come, it became apparent why it took a while. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. My burger was clearly charbroiled and right off the grill. It was thick, juicy and well cooked on a grilled bulkie roll. I ordered the fresh battered onion rings with it as well. They were not greasy, well seasoned, thin cut and yummy. The original and inventive wraps that were available were also delicious and appealing to look at. The fries were likely frozen variety. They were acceptable, but nowhere near as good as the rings. Overall, the space, atmosphere and food were great. Prices were acceptable. Service was slow and inexperienced in out case, but OK. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Try it. Whenever you go out for breakfast, you expect fast, courteous service. I mean, you really can't screw up eggs and bacon, can you, so your service is most of the grade. The menu is quite extensive, for a breakfast place and reasonably priced. I went with the banquet cafe III, which had three eggs, three slices of bacon, two sausage links, wheat toast. I also chose the beans, a slightly healthier option to the home fries. Beans were the hit of the breakfast, slightly tangy, not too soupy and delicious. Bacon was good, cooked crispy, and the sausage links were also cooked appropriately. Wheat toast was over buttered which led to soggy toast. I asked for eggs over easy, and what did I get? Eggs over but cooked all the way through. Coffee was not terrible, just not enough of it. The service is where this local-yocal place really fails. 4-5 members of the wait staff standing behind the counter and not one person can offer to "top off your coffee." Not even the courteous, "How is everything?" I got my meal placed in front of me and watched several of the staff, looking so miserable, that it had me wondering if someone had run over their dog. Here is my tip, smile, converse with your patrons, ask if they want more coffee, ask how their meal is, don't just take the order, place the check down before the meal comes, and walk away and kibitz like old ladies. First time coming here today after a friend referred me and to be honest I was kinda disappointed. I ordered a grilled Ruben, clam chowder and my friend ordered pancakes and home fries. The clam chowder tasted like no soup I've ever had before and not in a good way. I returned the soup which was no problem. The fries looked like they came right out of a freezer bag and tasted less than sub-par. The service all around was a little slow, and we weren't checked in on at all during the meal. The food was pretty generic so no complaints or compliments there. The reason I gave two stars is because our waitress was a tad bit rude. We had finished our breakfast and were talking for a while when the waitress approached our table and asked if we were all set because there was a line of 10 people outside. Incredibly disappointing. This place was busy, which is usually expected on a holiday monday morning. No excuse for a breakfast joint, they should be used to this. First off, the coffee is horrible, extremely watered down. Even waited for a fresh pot to come around, same thing with refill. We ordered a meat lovers omelette & the New England breakfast with French toast. The french toast was uncooked and soggy, didn't eat more than one bite. My eggs were so slimy I swear they cooked them in water. The homefries were salty and undercooked. Low quality sausage. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food, which would have been fine if the quality was good. I'm pretty sure the meats were prepared ahead of time and just pulled out of a bowl. Microwave bacon is better. The best thing I ate was the baked beans & I guarantee they came out of a can. Thank god because I'm not sure I would have eaten them otherwise. read more

Used to eat here once in awhile but haven't been back in well over a decade. Finally went with the fam over the weekend and meh. Kids and hub all got pancakes/waffles. Pretty standard but the pancakes were bland and stingy on the mix-in option. I got a plate of scrambled eggs/toast/homefries that came with a cheese sauce. It was inedible. The eggs were extremely undercooked and drowning in the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was more watery than thick and cheesy. Toast was... toast. Home fries were all completely burnt and unseasoned, but what was weirder to my husband and I was that the homefries were either huge pieces of undercooked potato that managed to get burnt on the outside, or tiny crumbles of potato that were so overdone that you'd break a tooth trying to eat it. The waitress was sooo nice, and sweet with the kids. We won't be back unless we're all ordering just basic waffles or something. read more

Second time here. Quick service, very friendly but I think the food came too quickly. Like it has been sitting around waiting for someone to order it. Fake butter was gross. It ruined my pancakes. Cheese in my farmer's skillet was nasty. Made me sick the rest of the day. Potatoes were good though. Those that weren't covered with the cheese. Coffee was decent too. This place is 1-1. I have been visiting Cafe on the Common for years and love coming here for a filling and reasonably priced breakfast. They serve breakfast all day and I've never eaten lunch here because the breakfast options are too good to pass up!! My two favorite dishes are their chocolate chip pancakes and the eggs Benedict. The chocolate chip pancakes come with a stack of 3 for only $8.45. They also have a variety of eggs Benedict dishes, my favorites include the crab cake or Canadian bacon option topped with hollandaise and a side of home fries. It comes with 3 eggs and 2 English muffin halves and a hefty portion of the home fries, also for $8.45. If you have this you definitely won't be leaving hungry! On busy weekends their might be a wait, but it typically moves quickly and if you have a small party you can sit at the counter which usually has a pretty fast turnover. Each day they also have 3 specials so be sure to check out the white board when you walk in. Lastly, the servers are all so friendly and most of them have worked at the restaurant for years so it's always nice to go back and see a familiar face. I would say it's the best breakfast spot in Mansfield by far! read more

However, out of the 3 times that I have brought my kids here, 2 of those times our server gave us attitude because of the kids. First time my toddler was playing with the sugar packets... Sure enough, there was a line out the door, which is a characteristic that defines good breakfast places. That was okay, though; ample time to cool off, stretch out and get good and hungry while waiting for the no-nonsense hostess to find room for six people and a cute kid. Given the need to undo exercise, though, it was good we waited, since there were delicious unhealthy breakfast items to consume. i went with the garlic-mashed-potato omelet. a great invention and i thank them for it. since i am weird and take a tall glass of soda with breakfast as often as i do coffee, i was glad they had big glasses and free refills. the portions are huge, the prices cheap to reasonable, and the wait is worthwhile. read more

Parking is street, which can be difficult on the weekends. We got a table right away. There is a lot of seating; booths, tables, and a counter. I can't imagine a wait more than 15-20 mins given the amount of seating and how fast they seemed to turn the tables over. Space is tight which made maneuvering a carseat a little difficult. I went with the basic combination of eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. This was plenty to share with our 4 yo son, who enjoyed the chocolate chip and ate all the eggs. My husband got eggs, bacon, home fries and pancakes. No complaints on the food. The home fries were good - they are FRIED but had good flavor. I prefer stove top home fries. Slow on the coffee filling. I have two kids - just leave the pot please. We would go back to try more variety of items, as their menu was quite expansive. Prices are fair. read more

Just stopped by this morning. I find a lot of places overcook scrambled eggs into a solid, dry mass but these were plenty soft and rubbery. The blueberry pancakes were chock full of berries and the outer edges were just a touch crispy, which was nice. The menu is pretty big and I was surprised to see kielbasa listed. I thought my father and I were the only ones who ever made kielbasa at breakfast. Nifty. I'm glad to have found a good breakfast place in town. Not much else in Mansfield that I know of. read more

Good food, especially at breakfast, and my first choice for breakfast in Mansfield. I often go with one of the variations on Eggs Benedict. I also like the bright, well-lighted feel, with natural wood furniture that feels modern yet comfortable. Cafe on the Common's quality also leads to its greatest drawback: long waits. Even by 9am most weekends, the wait can be 30 minutes or more; by late morning and noon, you might face an hour of waiting, and there's not a lot of waiting room inside. If you want to eat sooner, try Driscoll's up the street. read more

I can only speak to the breakfast food, but it is definitely yummy. I always get a giant, fluffy waffle with strawberries on top. I think the food is slightly overpriced. It is $20+ for two people to eat a breakfast big enough to make going out worthwhile. Definitely be prepared to wait a half hour for a table on weekend mornings. There is a fairly good sized "bar" area you can jump into if you see an open seat. read more
