We went here for breakfast about one week ago. Food: We ordered the vegetarian polenta with corn and red chile, as well as the huevos motulenos. The red chile is spicy and tasty. Both dishes were excellent. The organic coffee was excellent as well. Service: excellent as well. Service was prompt, professional and with a smile. You felt very welcome as soon as you stepped into the door. Environment: Clean and cozy. Seating is limited so come early if you don't want to wait. Overall: excellent. It was my birthday and having dinner at Cafe Pasqual's was the best gift ever! From the time we walked in the door, I knew it was the right choice not only for a great meal but for a great experience. The hostess surprised us by decorating our table with 'birthday glitter' - how sweet is that? Mario, our server, was extraordinary - a consummate professional. Visit at 1:15 on MLK Day required a 20+ minute wait but local couple we were with said we needed to eat here. Noise level was equivalent to ChuckieCheese and table cramming felt like sardines-in-a-can, food was average (only 1 of 4 dishes was above average), service was lacking (server delivered food & was not seen by us till check delivered) and had to stand up with just-delivered plate (of lukewarm relleno) to get attention to have it reheated. We were really looking forward to eating here. In fact, we couldn't get into the restaurant on the first night of our vacation without a reservation so we made one for our last night thinking it would be a great end to our time in Santa Fe. We were utterly wrong and wish we could've taken it back. The food was mediocre at best and expensive. Don't waste your money. A few specific points: 1) although we were the second set of guests seated when the restaurant opened, we were the last to get our food; service was extremely slow 2) food when it did come was lukewarm and they had gotten one entree wrong so it didn't come out at the same time as everything else 3) $7 for a tablespoon of mushrooms on a burger is unacceptable 4) one of the entrees came with kitchen string in it, which unfortunately our diner didn't realize until it was in her mouth; they comped the entree but honestly the whole food bill should've been comped given the severity of the error - she could've choked So trust me when I say don't do it. read more

Hostess was snotty when we got there for out reservation (it would be a miracle to get in here on a weekend with one as we found out the night before). We were seated for 15 minutes before out waiter came over. He just asked "what's for dinner?" Never asked about drinks. When I asked him to modify a dish to make it vegan, he wanted to argue about how it wouldn't taste as good without the cheese. For the record, the enchiladas were heaven without any cheese. The restaurant is small and during events like the Indian Market almost impossible to get into for breakfast and lunch but easy to make dinner reservations which is what we did. Cafe Pasqual's came highly recommended by people we met on our plane so we went despite that it is very pricey for dinner. The restaurant leans toward organic food so we expected good things. Our dinner was delicious and the service was attentive without being over bearing. There are some strange food pairings on their menu but they are happy to substitute which is nice. There's usually a line outside Pasqual's, for good reason. If you have the time, it's worth trying to get in. They take reservations for dinner. We stayed all summer in Santa Fe, just off the plaza, and never wanted to wait in line for lunch, but we finally made reservations for dinner. It was the best meal of the summer, by far. read more

After driving for eight hours, my friend and I wanted nothing more than a sit down meal and authentic Mexican food. We were met with vibrant art, warm service, and delicious mole enchiladas. The button on my jeans were about to pop off because of the portion sizes, so the Affogato definitely wasn't needed but we went through with it anyways (because dessert) and didn't regret a single bite. Had one of our first meals in Santa Fe at Cafe Pasqual's. Met a nice couple who was also visiting from California and decided to share a table and their company. Probably the highlight of the evening. The menu is interesting, typical Santa Fe with a Mediterranean flair. The food was very good. The Zinfandel was excellent, served perfectly. The dessert were over-the-top decadent. We would definitely go there again. It is a small room and a tight squeeze. Second time in as many months weve waited 45 minutes to get a meal here. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff super friendly, the food is very lacking and over priced. My wifey ordered a burger rare...... it came out burnt i was extremely disapointed in this because the presentation looked amazing. My chile was fairly bland and for a 25 dollar combo plate I was very unimpressed. I guess that pretty much somes up both experiences. OMG I am so happy we found this tucked away cafe/restaurant. The wait for a table was well worth it. Their quinoa burger was substantial and full of goodness, I felt so soothed by the love in the food. The apple and fennel salad was incredible, how did they know to combine all the flavours into such perfection?! The food is delicious! I went around 12:30pm on a Friday afternoon and we waited about an hour for a 2 person table, however it was definitely worth it. Its easy to kill time at the shops and galleries surrounding it. I ordered the smoked trout hash which was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and it came with a huge side of green chilli sauce. I shared the Chilli Relleno with my friend which is basically a green chili stuffed with cheese and then fried, covered in some delicious sauce and more cheese. The service was good, the waiter was attentive without being overbearing. It was extremely busy and the prices are a bit high but definitely worth it. Definitely go here if you're in Santa Fe, and don't be scared because if there is a wait, its worth it. read more

Saw a line of people waiting for the 8am opening. Figured it must be good. Got in line and waited 15 minutes. The waitstaff was great at getting everyone settled. Unfortunately, things went downhill. I ordered coffee in a press pot for a pricey 5.45. The coffee was lukewarm and too many grinds got into my coffee. Sent it back and got a standard cup of coffee which had refills and was pricey at 2.75. Ordered the platter of wheat pancakes, applewood bacon, and an egg over hard. Wait was long as they sat the whole place at once-around 25 minutes. The pancakes were tasty and I appreciated the real maple syrup and butter. The two strips of bacon were rubbery and not worth eating. The egg was overcooked. Sent egg back and next version was runny. Sent that back and got a nasty version of scrambled egg. This platter was overpriced at 15 dollars and with quality lacking I was not impressed. I appreciated the waiter knocking off around 6 dollars for my bill when he saw that I did not eat the egg or bacon. The waiters are doing a great job. The cooking needs improving. read more

We have been to Pasqual's a couple of times. While it is a Santa Fe institution and is known as a "must go to" location, that could be a little bit of an exaggeration. Yes, the food can be incredible. I had a veggie mole burrito with tofu and the first time I had it it was unbeatable. But sometimes just a little inconsistent. My wife's dishes were a little bit of a disappointment. With the prices being relatively high, I would like to see a little more consistency in the dishes. But when they are on, they are almost unbeatable. read more
