A wonderful little restaurant that seems to be a page taken out of a Gilmore Girls episode. The space is on the smaller side and looks like it's situated in a historic part of town. Many of the shops are adorned with catchy phrases that proudly display their products and services. Cafe Patachou is no different and it's a good thing too. The entire strip along with entering the restaurant felt very cozy and inviting. They greet you so fast and there were a couple tables here and there that were opened when we got in. I ordered the Patachou Classic Sandwich which was a classic sausage breakfast sandwich along with a side of fruit. All of it did its job. Randomly adding ketchup added just enough zing to get me by for the morning. Our waitress was super friendly and quickly fulfilled our requests. I would definitely return on another trip to Indy. Everything was just solid and I bet the other dishes were great too. Also, if you ever order the breakfast potatoes, ask them to be well done. Don't say I didn't tell you about that little gem!

I loved celebrating my birthday here today with friends and my girls over a lovely lunch. A delicious carrot cake was the cream cheese icing on the day. While my girls loved the hot chocolate, piled high with whipped cream, I really enjoyed my seasonal Pumpkin Maple cappuccino. The Green Goddess salad was good and just the perfect portion size. We all arrived at 1:30, and it was about half full at the time. It is a bit noisy, busy and bright, but very upbeat energy. Sitting outside on a warmer day would be really nice.

You can't come to Indy (or live in Indy) without going to Cafe Patachou. This place is so incredibly consistent that it will become a regular stop for you. Pro tip: get the broken yolk meal open faced and make the other piece of bread cinnamon toast. You will not regret it! It's run by an amazing human, which is always a plus, but every employee there will make you feel like family. The vibes are immaculate!

I've gone to the Stutz location before but this was my first time at the Broad Ripple location! I was sat quickly and our server was very attentive, taking care of us immediately. Our food was great, our cocktails hit the spot and because of the holiday week, it was pretty busy but I could see this location being busy any day due to location.

Stopped in to Patachou with my family after church for brunch as we often do. Started with the typical coffee while we waited for our table. We were seated quickly and I ordered the Eggs in Purgatory and a side of the pork sausage. This dish was a first time order for me that hit the spot! Loved the Calabrian chilis in the tomato sauce and dipping the toast in it made for a delicious bite. As always, the ambiance and vibe at Patachou were fantastic and will bring us back again soon.

Came for lunch on my short pit stop to visit a friend in Indy in my way to Chicago for the holidays. Came around 12:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. This was such a cute and popular cafe. It was very packed though we did get seated right away. There was so much on the menu that sounded good it was so hard to choose. Normally I'd get 2 things if I can't chose but since I was t going home with leftovers after, I went with the suggestion from the waitress, the Cuban Breakfast. It was so fresh and full of flavor. The spinach jalapeño pesto was amazing. I also liked that they put enough on it to have that sauce in every bite. There was a nice portion of avocado as. The overall portion for the meal was perfect for lunch and I finished every last bite. My friend got the tomato artichoke soup and a waffle and both were also very good. I definitely want to come back here to try more of the menu items. This feels like a healthy farm to table restaurant as they source local and often organic produce. I'm not surprised to learn this is an award winning Cafe in Indianapolis and was named "Top Ten Places for Breakfast in the Country" by Bon Appetite magazine. The founder Martha Hoover has a few other restaurants and bars in Indianapolis so I look forward to trying them all when I'm visiting Indy again.

My partner and I adore Cafe Patachou and have visited many times. It's nearly impossible to find one restaurant that six people can all agree on. After converting our fam into Cafe Patachou fans on our way through Indy last week, convincing everyone to stop here on the way home was easy! The food was excellent as always. It's impossible to have a bad meal here. The service was fast but not rushed, and the space was clean. Do not sleep on this place -- it's a gem! We'll be back next time we're in Indy.

The O.G. I've laughed here, cried here, brought my messy toddler here... and the waitstaff has only shown kindness, comfort, and good humor. It truly feels like a perfect, comfortable neighborhood cafe where you can expect consistent good service and delicious food. Lately, I've been pretty attached to the tomato artichoke soup and turkey club on native gf bread. I also love the Cuban breakfast and waffle. My husband adores the sourdough toast with blueberry preserves. There are great options for kids meals and they all have healthy choices.

The only place you can get GF Waffles that are delicious in Indy. Also Patachou without a doubt has the best Waffles. This is a throwback from Summer because the porch is the spot to dine. The service is always wonderful (but busy) so be prepared to wait, but you can grab a cup of unlimited coffee while you do. The space is bright and poppy like a comic book. I believe this is the OG Patachou.

It was my first time at Cafe Patachou. I've heard so many great things about this spot. Their reputation delivered. When we first walked in, they looked really busy. We had to wait alittle bit. Me and my friend got seated at the counter bc we were in a bit of a rush for our lunch break, which we didnt mind. The food came out reasonably fast. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with chips. and my friend had a salad. We both enjoyed our meals. I would definitely order the chicken salad sandwich again. The sandwich had just the right amount of mayo and the chips complimented the sandwich. We ordered a muffin from the bakery section of the menu, that was the only thing we both werent a fan of. It wasn't exactly what we were expecting. Overall good experience. Would definitely come back and also open to trying other stuff on their menu.

We ordered to go, so not sure what the inside is like but it seemed really busy--so it must be nice. There's outdoor seating, which is a nice option and a parking lot on the side of the building. Always a plus when parking is easy since we have young kids and parallel parking requires one to get out of the car into the street with oncoming traffic. What we got: - smoked salmon bagel Not too salty. Liked all the greens in it. Carrots were a little odd and didn't quite match. It slips out of the sandwich and being raw is not the right crunch--maybe if they pickled it instead. But it was good if you like salmon. - waffle grilled cheese (for kids) Our kids seemed to like it? But they're not super picky. The waffle was doughy--I think I like a soft, chewy inside and crispy outside when it comes to waffles. Maybe someone else with different tastes would say it has a nice chew. The cheese was maybe provolone.. Pretty basic grilled cheese (but minus the benefit of a buttery grilled bread). I think I was expecting more, but it was fine. Maybe we just got the wrong things or it's better there, but it was fine and typical American/gastrofoodie stuff that's popular these days. Not bad, but also not super special. TL;DR Everything felt good/healthy to eat, like not heavy or greasy. Solid lunch/brunch place.

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. The information provided at the beginning of the class didn't flow the best, and used a lot of terms I didn't understand- knowing your audience is important. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.

Because Black Circle has been here for quite some time, there's seemingly always been a food partner within the building/complex. Beacon Off The Path is that latest food partner and it seems as if Black Circle may have found a great partner. Beacon Off The Path is a sister joint to Goldleaf, also in the SoBro area and not that far away. Beacon Off The Path, I believe, is primarily open when Black Circle is open and, as such, tends to have that edgier, industrial vibe since most bands that play Black Circle tend to have an edge to them (there are exceptions). Beacon Off The Path offers a small yet effective and tasty menu with sides that change according to mood, day, or week. Food options I prefer? The quesadilla is slamming - I prefer adding chicken to it. The Gooey Grilled Cheese is awesome. I'm dying to try the Portuguese Steak Sandwich. People are friendly here, though there's a SoBro vibe that I adore. I live just east of SoBro and get it completely. It feels like home to me. Refinery46, in general, does have some accessibility limitations given the age of the building. However, they've done a pretty nice job with most of the building. Via a ramp on the side of the building, it's pretty easy to access Beacon Off The Path (it's a better floor design, I'd say, than the previous food vendor here). However, I'll acknowledge it does take a bit of effort. In my mind, it's worth it. If you're looking for a super quiet place to study, this is probably not going to be it. However, you've got a great vibe with great food, great customer service, fair prices, pinball machines, and there's typically music around. Everything's a win here.
