First time at Milktooth and I loved the atmosphere! It was a beautiful day, so it took awhile to get in, but my friend and I had a great time chatting and catching up while we waited on a table. Our food also took a little while to show up, but we loved the menu options! My cinnamon roll was a little bit more dry than I liked, but I loved the side of whip cream it came with! The S'mores Dutch Baby was probably our favorite menu item! Would come back again just for this! Would also highly recommend the specialty coffee drinks.
Hands down one of the best brunch experiences of my life. They don't take reservations ugh and when we arrived after the hike from around gainbridge fieldhouse in high 30s weather the people loitering around did not inspire optimism. We put our name down and were told they would "get us in as soon as they can". We waited outside. In the teeth chattering cold. The thought of saying fuck it and bouncing did cross my mind but not seriously. Something told me to wait (probably the reviews I read that said explicitly "it's well worth the wait"). Excitement grew as each party left the restaurant with their little table away boxes and we knew our time was near. Eventually the host said the words we had been waiting for "Bekki, party of 2". We sat at their little countertop bar situation which was excellent because it provided a nice view of the behind the scenes cooking business. It is super warm and inviting inside with a lot of little Knick knacks. Service is friendly and prompt. We both wanted their bottomless drip coffee. GF ordered their bloody mary "it was good". I ordered a beermosa which was DELICIOUS! I don't know if orange juice most makes everything good or what. I had to try their famous Dutch baby which was fantastic. I don't feel qualified enough to really discuss it as I don't know if I have ever had one before but that fruity syrupy shit on top was really refreshing and tasty. GF ordered the grilled cheese and a side of grits. The grilled cheese was huge btw and filled with gooey melty cheese the bread was grilled to a crispy crust on the edges and there was some sweetness to the flavor GF said was some syrupy business. What an unusual combo of flavors there The grits were out of this world. Blue corn and RICOTTA CHEESE?! Are you joking me? Are you fucking with me? Get out of here. Absolutely next level better than sex fantastic orgasmic brunch meal absolutely worth the wait.
Milktooth lives up to the hype. I got the breakfast burger and it was super good, and the fries that came with it were just as solid. My significant other got the blueberry waffle, and after trying a bite I can say it was insanely good too. Service was quick and everyone was friendly and helpful. It is a bit on the pricier side, but that is expected for a place like this. The ambiance is great, especially being in a walkable part of Fountain Square. The inside is really nice with cool decor and a lot of natural light that makes it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your meal.
The savory Dutch baby is the most interesting thing I've eaten in a long time. The base was some type of a very lightly, sweet, spongy pancake. Savory pulled pork, mozzarella and pineapple ranch with cilantro. Who even thought of this combination? A magician sent straight from heaven. We also got the biscuits and gravy, and I can't remember it had a fancy name, but once again, fabulous because it had a soft cooked egg on top and some type of interesting spin on a normal gravy. The spicy bloody was fabulous, they bring it out with a corona so that you can sip the corona after the "spice" to take to bite out. Make sure you check the hours because, they truly do have limited hours. It is worth the experience and it is truly a taste bud experience. Side note: on our check, the tip was added in already and I didn't notice and I wrote in an additional tip. The waitress was fabulous and it was fine, but just pay attention in case you have a large group. This is relevant.
Still exceptional after all these years! News that Milktooth will transform to a new concept this spring so we had to come before that happened. Lucky if you get a parking spot in their lot but there's free street parking around. Arrived later than opening time on the weekend so we had a 40 minute wait. Clean bright space; bustling atmosphere on the weekends. Noted the auto 20% gratuity and 3% fee for using credit added to bill listed on website and menu. However I had no issue with the friendly and food service. There was good communication when we mentioned a food allergy and felt safe assured to enjoy our meal. Kiddos gave their thumbs up approval, hubby gave the head nod approval, and I with my happy shimmy approval with every bite. Milktooth is truly a spot with top culinary creativity, skills, and taste. Will sorely miss and also excited to try what's to come!
I ordered: 1. Apricot & Ricotta Dutch Baby Pancake - stewed apricots, cardamon, orange, whipped ricotta, toasted walnuts 2. Sweet Potato Coldbrew - coldbrew, sweet potato syrup, vanilla, heavy cream, served over ice 3. Slab Bacon - two slabs thick cut, Old Major. marinated in chicken stock, rosemary, star anise, nutmeg 4. Beignets - whipped mint cream, chocolate ganache & cocoa nibs Delicious combination of flavors in the apricot Ricotta Dutch Baby and not terribly greasy. Slab Bacon was super tender and flavorful. Beignets were soft and decadent. Sweet potato Coldbrew was interesting and refreshing. No issues with service. I recommend coming earlier if possible because it gets busy.

Gingerbread latte, pumpkin hojicha muffin, Afternoon at Grandma's Dutch baby, patty melt, plus the two eggs your way with slab bacon -- nothing missed. The gingerbread latte was cozy without being too sweet, and the pumpkin hojicha muffin was unique in a really good way. The Dutch baby was the standout -- warm, comforting, and exactly what you want from a dish like that. My daughter would probably argue the scrambled eggs were just as good as dad's, which I'll take as high praise. The vibe was cute and friendly, the menu was creative but comforting, and even with a big order it never felt chaotic. Would absolutely come back.
Bright and airy breakfast/ brunch that's out of a repurposed auto garage (it looks like this was an actual car dealership long ago). During this visit, I was a tourist and first time Indy visitor, but having lived in Silver Lake (LA, CA) for a few years, I think it's safe to say this place is located in an area that leans more hipster. Which is great, because I tend to find the restaurants I really love in these areas. The place was crowded, but I was able to get seated pretty much right away at the bar. The host and my server were very warm and friendly. The menu consists of breakfast classics as well as some more creative dishes. I already knew that I wanted to try one of their sweet Dutch Babies. It was the Peaches and Cream Dutch Baby on the menu at the time of my visit and it sounded perfect. Not familiar with the produce cycle out here, but peach season is winding down. It was delicious! (and aesthetically pleasing) Basically a thick, chewy, substantial pancake served with fresh fruit and cream on top. They have a savory version of the dish as well. I also ordered a latte to wash it all down. Such a pleasant meal with pleasant people in a wonderful setting. If I mind myself back in town, this is definitely on the short list of places to go to for breakfast/brunch.
The coffee is always delicious and I have never had a bad latte here. Milktooth's menu is very gluten heavy, and as someone with a gluten allergy it is difficult to navigate ordering here. This time I ordered cheesy grits with bacon and an over easy egg. I love grits so much and I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the grits came out soupy and I kept having bites that bordered on uncooked which was not enjoyable. The egg was not over easy, none of the yolk was runny. The overall taste was fine and I appreciated the aftertaste of the dish, but I just wish it would have been executed better. Cherry on top was getting sick afterwards. At this point I have tried Milktooth enough times to feel confident in writing it off and sticking with other options that do a better job of accommodating allergies.
This is place is such a gem. Everything is so unique and tastefully done. Wonderful service and I nice atmosphere. It's not reply the place if you're trying to eat healthy, but if you want an amazing culinary experience in a casual atmosphere, it's a must! The only downside is that there's usually a wait for a table, but it is reasonable and well worth it!
It's been awhile since I've been here and I forgot how much I loved this place! So cozy, and the staff makes me feel like I'm their neighbor. The downside is, if you don't get there early, they'll likely be out of a few dishes (and always really good ones). This particular visit I tried the smash burger for the first time and was very pleased! The highlight was the bacon fig jam on it -- delicious! They also have great matcha, and make all syrups in house which is a huge plus. Can't wait to return!
Milktooth is THE spot in Indianapolis. Friendly staff, artist work on the walls, and most importantly it feels like they really care about food. Everything on the menu sounded good so it was hard to pick. I went with Turkish Egg Dutch Baby Pancake since I lowkey have a pancake obsession and a Dutch baby is hard to come by in NYC. It was the perfect balance of savory and sweet - a true brunch icon. If I lived in the area this cafe would be my go-to for sure. The service was excellent. When splitting the bill they divide it by the seat, super convenient. But they also automatically add 20% tip which I'm not mad bc I would've tipped that regardless but a heads up!
I have heard nothing but good reviews about milktooth for as long as I can remember, but unfortunately my experience was less than. I would call myself a hesitant foodie. Im open to new experiences, but im still aware of when food is very middle of the road. Unfortunately thats how I felt about milktooth. Nothing was mindblowing. Service and Ambiance 9/10
Very cool vibe. It is a repurposed garage, so even if you decide to eat inside, you still get the outside feeling. I was alone so I sat at the counter. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the iced coffee. Had the grits with bacon bits and egg. Did not realize I had the choice of how the egg could be prepared, so it was more runny than I liked. I also enjoyed the cinnamon bun. Not overly sweet. Food was decent. We had a latke, sourdough waffle, bacon, eggs. Latke and waffle had good flavor. However, the service was terrible. I waited 30 mins for a drip coffee. 45 mins for the cortado. I personally think our order was probably not put in and forgotten. read more

Milktooth was always one of my favorite brunch locations in Indy for its variety and seemingly endless menu changes. Coming back 3 years after my last visit, Milktooth is still the same great restaurant. Always packed, great coffee, and an equally enjoyable vibe. Milktooth doesn't miss. One noted change since we left the city a few years ago was that the portion sizes had notable changed in terms of the Dutch baby which stinks a little. read more
This is one of the best brunches I've ever had. I'm thankful to have found Milktooth via a Conde Nast article prior to a trip to Indianapolis because it was definitely a highlight for me. The wait can get a bit long but they sat us within a reasonable time at a few bar seats. The environment was electric and once inside you just know you are about to have an enjoyable experience and meal. I started with the banana milk iced coffee and I can't believe I've never had anything like this before, it was delicious! Not too sweet and the perfect compliment to all the savory goodies in our meal. My friend and I split the burger, sourdough waffle, and side of cheddar grits. The burger had crispy edges to the patty and an amazing relish. The waffle had some crazy cool flavor combinations with honeycomb, beats and Parmesan cheese. And you can never got wrong with grits. It was an amazing meal in a super trendy, not pretentious environment and I loved every bit of it! read more

i adored this place! the vibe was spot on with the thrifted plates and fun furniture, the service was wonderful, and the food was unique and delicious. it really is the perfect spot to get brunch and a great latte or freshly squeezed lemonade. i highly recommend trying their focaccia and beignets. i'm certainly sad to know that they are switching from brunch to a "meat in three" restaurant, but i can't wait to see what else they have to offer. read more

Lively brunch spot that lives up to the hype. I had the oxtail hash and an orange maple espresso soda, both of which were incredible. Got a table relatively quickly and staff is always super friendly despite a busy crowd. Bittersweet they are changing concepts but excited for their next venture. Long live Milktooth! read more
Pre- run coffee quickly turned into a double smash burger, beignets, and Dutch baby pancakes. I ordered bottomless drip to start. Phrasing is everything. Free refills sounds better? Nonetheless, upcharged for bottomless. The beignets were decent, the accompanying custard was rich. The smash burger was average. The highlight of the meal was the Dutch baby pancakes. The Greek yogurt and egg were a nice touch. Light and flavourful. I'd get that again. Cool spot for sure. read more

Great brunch spot in Indy. Tried something new, a Turkish dish with eggs and the most amazing fluffy pancake creation I've ever tasted. Husband went with smash burger and fries. He loved every bite, fries were perfect. Service was friendly and they were super busy but everyone was working as quickly as they could. It's hot and humid out so sitting inside got a little warm and uncomfortable at times but it was still a great experience. Fun decor inside with interesting art that created conversations. Outside seating was packed but it would be nice to return to enjoy the fresh air. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a new brunch spot. read more
Milktooth was so good! This was my first stop in Indianapolis; as I'd heard many great things about this place. The rumors are true, it's worth the hype! I got the oysters to start, which were so fresh and delicious. Then I got the savory Dutch baby pancake - WOW. Unlike anything I've ever had before. I usually go sweet for brunch so I was a little nervous, but I absolutely made the right choice! Have to give credit to my server for the suggestion and for overall being so helpful and kind! The inside is super cute as well. It reminds me of an Australian coffee shop - somehow quaint and retro at the same time. Highly recommend! read more

We finally made it to MilkTooth & our beautiful, out of town, guest came with us to experience the magic! Pro Tip, visit on a weekday for minimal wait and more intimate setting! We visited on a Monday afternoon at about 1230 and were seated right away. To our surprise the inside dining area was mostly empty and we received plenty of attention from the serving staff. Also delighted to find a happy hour menu on our table! $25 pitcher of mimosas and $1 raw oysters... Yes, Please, and Thank you. You'll enjoy the culinary experience provided by MilkTooth if you have a taste for unique and bold flavors throughout your meal. The menu they gave us had like 3 options for food. No brunch they said they changed the menu. This is not a brunch restaurant. Overpriced not very good food. 20% automatic gratuity added for a party of 2. Staff was also rude. Avoid this place. Things have changed it's not what it used to be. read more

Milktooth was recommended online and by a couple locals. Showed up at 9:50 am on a Sunday and waited in a disorganized clump with a couple dozen others until the employees came out to open the doors and gently chastise the folks for not forming a proper line. Chose to sit inside as the patio tables filled up first. At this point, there were only two other groups indoors, mind you. Hostess first attempted to sit my party of two at the far end of the counter near the access to the kitchen/coffee bar, clearly one of the worst seats in the house. I requested a table instead, seeing as there were multiple two-tops still available. Felt like this annoyed the hostess, and she seated us at what I would judge as an inferior table near the highest traffic area of the restaurant. After this hiccup, the rest of the experience was positive. Our server was prompt and polite. Items were brought out as they were ready, not timed for our mains to arrive at the same time. I had the squash latke with cotija and radish, which was hearty but the latke desperately needed seasoning. There were no condiments or S&P on the table. The grits with cheddar, green onions, and bacon were delicious. Specialty iced brown butter latte was average and served inexplicably in a stemless wine glass. Decent stop for brunch, but not a place I would line up or wait more than 15 minutes for. More expensive than expected and automatic gratuity added. read more
Met with a couple people here Saturday morning, it was pretty busy as we finally got some decent weather in Indy. We weren't a fan of the menu and it took a while to narrow down our options. Our server, Emily, was amazing, just the sweetest! We ordered Croque Monsieur waffle, potato latke, and sweet Dutch pancakes. It's definitely an acquired taste and I can't say I'd go back. 4 stars is for Emily and the nice couple that paid our bill. read more
I've read about this restaurant in Bon Appetit and bookmarked it. After many years, I was able to dine here. We came around 10:30am and waited for about 30 minutes to be seated at the bar. There are no hooks to hang your bags. Jackets can be hung on a rack next to the restrooms. I started with the sweet potato latke (gochujang butter, sesame seeds, scallions, nori). As my entree, I had the savory Dutch baby pancake (Old Major Texas hot link, salsa macha, chihuahua cheese, baked egg, cilantro). They make different versions of each every so often. Both were just ok to me. The pancake seemed like pizza to me. It was a bit oily too. I mostly enjoyed the chicken wings my friend got. My bf really enjoyed the biscuits & gravy. It was really filling. What I dislike is that there is a 3% credit card processing fee AND automatic 20% service fee. read more
I can't believe I just discovered this gem after living in Indy for a year. I got the grilled cheese and it was to die for. It's made with cranberry walnut bread, fontina, St Andre triple cream cheese, truffle honey, and a sunny side up duck egg. I thought I tasted brie cheese in there, but it might have been something else. All the flavors complement each other so well making it the PERFECT mix between sweet and savory. I need to come back and try more items on their menu!! Milktooth has that cozy brunch atmosphere. Delicious! So worth the wait! We were in this area and came across this place on yelp and decided to try it out! The server was super nice and recommended the peach dutch baby and it was soo yummm.. we also loved the potato latke and the salad! read more
I do not live in Indianapolis, so Milktooth is truly destination dining for me: whenever I know, I am going to be coming to town, I make sure I get a chance to have breakfast or brunch here. This has been the case for a decade, and every single time I have had an excellent experience. Service is friendly and prompt, but not overbearing. The restaurant's aesthetic is cool, artsy, but very welcoming; I've saw both outside and inside and both are pleasant. Be sure to get there right at opening, though if you don't want to risk waiting for a table. The food is always excellent and inventive and fresh; I highly recommend trying at least one suite and one savory option, particularly from their Dutch baby pancakes or waffle selections, and some sides to share (the cheesy grits are excellent!). The specialty coffee drinks are also great, like their signature brown butter latte. I'm surprised Milktooth doesn't have five stars across the board, because it is always a five star experience when I go. read more

What are wait times like on a Saturday morning at various times?
Depends on the time. If you get there when they start serving breakfast then you will be seated right away. If you go an hour after the place fills up pretty fast and you will wait like 15-20 min. The service is pretty fast and worth the wait.
Do they take American express?
I apologize I do not know the answer to that. I know that they take Visa and MasterCard.
I see there are a vegetarian options , anything for vegans?
The menu changes often, however I'm certain that they don't allow for alterations. Plan accordingly.
What gluten free options do you have besides the obvious like salads and omelets? Any gluten free substitutes like GF pancakes or waffles?
Our menu changes daily but we always have a few gluten free options to choose from. We recommend you give us a call the day you plan on coming in and we will gladly let you know the days gluten free options.
Do they have bottomless mimosas?
Hi! We do have mimosas, unfortunately they are not bottomless.
Are dogs allowed in their outside seating area? Or is there a place I could easily chain my dog in view of the restaurant (e.g. a bike rack, tree, light post...)?
There are outside seats with a rail surrounding the sitting area. If you sit at one of the tables by the rail and they do not want the dog at your table, you could easily have him/her sit on the other side of the rail and still be next to you.
When is the busiest time on a Saturday? How long is the wait?
If you are by yourself or with one other you can opt to sit at the counter (which is actually the best place to sit because you can watch them cook everything). The counter is normally no worse than a 15 minute wait even during busy times. If…
