    $125....

Beware of pricing!!! While the cake I got was literally perfect, the price for this giraffe cake (apparently "custom" since they don't offer it on their website) and a comparable animal cake was a $125 difference!! I paid $250 for this small 6 inch giraffe cake and the horse cake they offered is $125!!!!! Shame on me for not doing my research. Beware!!

Takeout dinner from Sparta, New Jersey... To celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, my friend decided to go to Cafe Pierrot. Originally, she was just going to get some decorated cupcakes... one was filled with mint and the other had Bailey's Irish Cream. We saw Corned beef cabbage in the refrigerated section and took a container to go, too. I saw the Irish Soda Bread with Golden Raisins and Chicken Pot Pie. The fruit tart looked good, too, so I got them all! My friend asked if she had any rewards to redeem - yes! She could have a loaf of bread or a cupcake... we took a pre-cut loaf of Multigrain bread... yay! Service was cheerful, helpful and efficient. The food was ok. We heated the Chicken Pot Pie in the oven. I liked the edges of the crust a lot more than the middle of the pie. The Corned Beef was sliced very thin - there were just 6 pieces, along with carrots, carnage, and potatoes. We microwaved everything for about 4 minutes. The cupcakes were moist and pretty. The chocolate was delicious. The frosting was thick and sweet. We'll have the bread for breakfast in the morning. My fruit tart was great! It was beautiful and fresh! Maybe we can dine in next time... it looked like a cozy environment! Hope you had a Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

***4 1/2 stars*** The last time I was at Cafe Pierrot was probably close to seven or eight years ago, and all I remember is that it involved nice weather and an excellent flavored latte. This visit was more dinner than brunch, but also luckily involved a pleasant sunny afternoon and still delivered some high quality shizzle - I don't say it lightly, but this is a Kingdom of Sussex staple. We came here for a late lunch/early dinner (I'm trying to mainstream the term lunner but I just don't think it's happening) this past Saturday after my Number One Honorary Young Pup Chum's stage debut down the street, which unfortunately premiered over a week after the Tony nominations were announced so the timing just wasn't there this year. Even though we got there right at the transition to the dinner menu, you can definitely still hit up the pastry/bakery area located right at the main entrance. The Honorary Young Pup Chum happily ordered a Red Velvet macaron on our way out that didn't survive the trek out of the parking lot. The interior of Cafe Pierrot has a ye olde vibe - lots of wooden floors and rustic decor - but after sitting inside for a few hours of stagecraft it felt very important to take advantage of the outdoor seating in front of the building. This is a weird, not weakness per se, but something that could definitely be improved: the outdoor seating is on top of unstable stones/pebbles, so by definition your table and chairs are uneven and there's a lot of shifting involved to minimize the buckling. I think the solution is to just replace the rocks with a different, more consistent material without waving the white flag and paving it (which feels extreme). You want to keep the natural vibes going, but not at the expense of your literal balance while you're eating. We were planning to get a little naughty later on at Krogh's, so I unfortunately behaved throughout this endeavor. I got the Potato Sole entree, which was really good. It's been a while since I had a potato-crusted fish (literally over a decade during a fascinating Block Island excursion), and I remain surprised that the concept isn't on more menus. The portion was decent, and the mashed potatoes really hit. Everyone at the table was pleased with what they ordered. The service was a LITTLE off. I mentioned that we showed up during the transition from lunch to dinner, and I think that may have played a part in this. It took a long time for the waitress to come out for our orders, to the point where the Young Pup brazenly declared that she was going to find the waitress during a bathroom visit to order her outside (that didn't happen, which was unquestionably a positive for all involved). She was nice though, and it ultimately wasn't the biggest deal in the world. Something for the restaurant to be aware of though during that awkward 10- or 20-minute period where the menu shifts. A strong recommend for the Kingdom of Sussex; the only near-term downside is that it's not the easiest place to get to with the sinkhole drama. Fix Route 80!

Such nice staff!! I got a chicken red pepper mozzarella sandwich. It is hot and fresh and super delicious. I got some of their famous potato salad on the side and to cupcakes to share for later. Really delicious food and so pretty too!

Excellent bakery selection and the friendly staff are always a pleasure to deal with. Picked up a gift card today for a Christmas stocking stuffer, so more to follow.

I arrived at around 10AM and the place was packed. Service was great as well as the their French toast, which light and soft with airy whipped, which I like.

Food was amazing!! Cute and small place. Good for brunch! The jambalaya was a featured item but it was so yummy, I hope they bring it back!

If you're searching for a cute cafe to have a breakfast feast during these covid times, Cafe Pierrot is a must-visit if you're in the area! The parking lot was relatively small, but if you visit during a less busy time like in the morning, it'll be easy to find a spot. Around 9:45 am, there is no wait time, and immediately after entering the cafe, the waitress will greet and seat you. She even made sure to space out the guests for social distancing to ensure a safe dining experience! This quaint cafe has a relaxing ambiance and cozy setting with aesthetic decor like pretty lighting fixtures and windows overlooking the town. Despite dining for two hours, the server was extremely friendly and patient when answering questions. The first photo depicts raspberry french toast with a side of sausages + breakfast potatoes and an omelet with sausage, tomatoes, and onions with breakfast potatoes + multigrain toast. The second picture shows a stunning cup of hot chocolate with steamed milk, and the photogenic design on top was a nice touch! Everything was priced appropriately, especially for breakfast, and the meal was affordable! The unique combination of sweetened cream cheese with raspberry preserves in the french toast was tangy but sweet and delightfully smooth. The toast and sausages were amazing, and the potatoes were also tasty but not the best potatoes in the world. The omelet was deliciously well cooked, and nothing was too salty or raw. Cafe Pierrot is a wonderful place to catch up with a friend and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Dinner was better than average. Bakery was a bust--carrot cake and cupcakes were dry and tasteless, with Crisco tasting vanilla icing.
