Do NOT recommend their lattes. There is 1 size for $5.75 and it came half full. Asked for more milk, then cup was filled 3/4 (photo) and put into the microwave to warm. Moved to the area and had been meaning to try Landauer Cafe. I started following them on instagram. Do yourself a favor - you will be in awe at the delicious creations. I ordered a gingerbread cookie making kit. Everyone said they were out of this world amazing. I ate at least 12 of them within two days. Not good for my diet, but oh so good for my soul. I first found out about this place a while ago (a year or so) from a friend who loves the raspberry cookie dessert (a cookie/mini tart topped with fresh whipped cream and some jam), (definitely NOT a linzer cookie, just a special dessert that is randomly added on the menu) it was super good and as I was eating it I couldn't help but notice it tasted exactly like the giant box of the ones I bought from Costco that were sitting on my counter! Sure enough when I looked one of them without the toppings on it, it was the same exact cookie! Pretty large markup on a dessert that is from Costco with some fancy things thrown on top. Save yourself the money and check out the Costco bakery section because I have a feeling that's not the only thing that is being passed off as homemade. I love this cute cafe and bakery. When you open the door, you are greeted by Christina, the owner, who is usually making a crepe for a customer or adding a final touch to her creation. I enjoyed her savory crepes for late lunch on my recent visits on weekends. These were huge and tasty. All the cookies I tried so far were good. I walked in and ordered the chocolate caramel truffles for my wife a day or two before Valentine's Day. The owner was very helpful and easy to talk to. The place was very charming inside. My wife really enjoyed the truffles and I was lucky enough to sample a few. They were delicious. I would like to go back to the Landauer for lunch or to try some of the crepes. I absolutely loved Landauer from its atmosphere to its owner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly and offered an explanation of the menu.It truly felt like the perfect homely neighborhood nook. We had crepes, which yes were not cheap considering they were for breakfast, but I had leftovers for another day because they were huge! We came back to buy easter candy which was worth every penny. Yes, a bunny was 5$ but where else can you get a solid dark chocolate bunny and expect to pay any less? The chocolate was decadent and real. Ever since we discovered this place a year ago, we can't stop going back. The crepes are wonderful and customizable (berries and chocolate? Spinach egg and tomato? Gluten free?). She also has pancakes and waffles in the rotation. My kids love it! And if you need a hostess gift, stop by. Either choose from one of her premade sets or let her know what you are looking for and she will assemble a beautiful dish of cookies, chocolates, and accents. Why are there any reviews less than 5 stars for this place? Landauer cafe is on 202 in Towoco where there is nowhere else really to eat a great snack. Landauer crepes are as good as any crepe I have ever had and better than a crepe I had in Paris. The owner is super sweet and takes great pride in providing high quality fresh food. She has a 2nd location in morristown which is at the arboretum, another hidden gem. Crepes, waffles, omelettes, chocolates, smoothies and great coffee and drinks- this place is too good for anything less than 5 stars.
