The overall vibe of the café is nice and illuminated and well spaced out. I was staying at Hotel Haya and this was the perfect cafe to have downstairs. On day one I checked into my room and was getting ready to head down to the pool when I realized the cafe stops doing food at 2pm. I didn't want to miss my window, but I wasn't ready to walk downstairs yet. I called down to the cafe and they happily took my odred over the phone knowing that I would be down just after 2pm to collect it. The cuban croissant was a great snack that's less filling than a whole sandwich and the croquetas were solid as well. I loved the Guava Rosa latte and am gonna buy some guava puree to try and recreate it at home. Awesome coffee shop! I stayed at Hotel Haya and visited this coffee shop 3 different times. Drip coffee is included in your hotel stay, which was a nice surprise. When I first arrived I picked up a croissant from the refrigerator that the employee told me was egg salad. Unfortunately it was chicken salad and they apologized so many times. They offered to make me anything from the menu in place of it, which was over the top nice. I had a breakfast bowl over tater tots, and they even had vegan sausage! I also added a fruit cup. On my next morning, I had a large coffee (great, bold, dark roast - 10/10) and a guava and cheese pastelito. It was flaky and sweet and just perfect. On my other visit I had a yogurt parfait and an iced guava latte (had to get my guava fill while in Florida) and everything was fresh and delicious. The line was long in the morning with all guests from the hotel, so be aware and plan ahead for that. Me and my friend visited in the mid afternoon on a Saturday so there weren't too many customers. We each ordered a flavored latte (vanilla and lavender, respectively) and a pastry. I can't remember what my friend for but I got a chocolate croissant. We ordered separately but the clerk still offered me their happy hour BOGO deal on pastries which was so nice and unexpected. This is a beautiful restaurant within a hotel. My party of 4 entered on 7th Street to find a cafe, coffee, and pastries. Not exactly what we were expecting. My little sister, with all the energy, went to explore as we were expecting a sit-down restaurant. Finally a lady dressed in all black clothing came to seat us. 5 more minutes siting in a near empty restaurant 2 hrs after opening, our waitress took coffee orders. 10 minutes for them to come out. Appetizers 15minutes. 20 more minutes for breakfast to come out. Everyone meal was cold, by this point nothing surprises me. Meals were tasty,nothing over the top. I enjoyed my egg torta with potatoes. No overwhelming seasoning at all, more on the bland side. I wondered if it was hot or even warm how good it may have been. Manchego cheese triangles, just 2 Slithers. Ham croquettes were crispy and flavorful, toast with tomatoes spread best thing on my plate. My friends enjoyed their meals, mostly. I'm giving this restaurant because of the super slow service and for me, there were just to many dogs dining along side their pet parents as well as barking. UGHHHH. The coffee cream croissant is a decadent pastry everyone should try at least once in their life. Pair with a cafe con leche, and your day is complete. If you have to behave, the overnight oats are a good alternative- just add a little half and half to cream it up. There are so many other delicious pastry options, though, who knows what other treasures await in their cabinet? The staff is professional and polite, the music is chill and groovy, and you can sit in their airy cafe and watch the scene on 7th (or the scene in the Hotel Haya). After reading Elite Yelp Manager Ginger's review I went out of my way to try this hotel breakfast/lunch nook. I think I went in with too much hype and was expecting one of the best experiences in my life. Although this is one of the better hotel coffee/pastry places I have experienced, there were a couple things that kept it from being five stars. The first is the very limited menu for lunch. With only 3-4 items to choose from, you want to take a look at the menu to ensure they have something that meets your needs before you go. I tried the chicken salad sandwich and chose the side salad option (instead of chips). I would give the food a 3 star. The bread was lightly toasted but nothing special. Not a ton of flavor in the sandwich. The side salad was mostly spinach with a couple grape tomatoes and served with some kind of dressing on the side that wasn't very good (I thought it tasted like a salad gravy, something that probably doesn't really exist for good reasons). The prices are a bit on the high side, although to he expected due to the high end nature of a hotel eatery. Where this moves to a four star is the ambiance. Located in a brand new hotel Haya, everything is super clean with a beautiful design. Every little item within the restaurant represents fashion design and was well thought out. It is a fun experience that makes you feel like you are on vacation in Tampa, even though you are just eating a meal. The music is nice and not too loud so you can enjoy it and also talk with those at your table. It is also interesting to note that there is a larger restaurant right around the corner from the cafe, but you would never know it and couldn't hear any of the sounds from it. This keeps rhe peaceful nature of the cafe in tact. After eating don't forget to browse the old books toward the hotel lobby (several Bobbsey Twins novels brings back memories of my childhood). There is a little gift shop area that has an incredible coconut candle that is to die for, but at $30 had to be put on layaway for another visit. Make sure you walk through the lobby and see the quaint pool area and especially the fancy Flora Fina restaurant with Chihully-style glass ceiling art that I believe was done locally at the Morean Art Center. Parking can be challenging. Ended up driving around until finding a spot on the street about three blocks away. read more

Love this place. I was looking all over Tampa for a decent coffee shop while here over the weekend and the few places I went to were a disappointment. Soon as I walked into this place I knew it was a gem! The decor inside is just outstanding. They did a really nice job with a very modern, but unique look. The hanging plants and fluorescent colors give it a cool tropical vibe, but it's also comfortable and cozy. The glassware and plates also fit the theme and add to the vibrance. The selection of pastries and food is quite extensive and diverse for a coffee shop! Everything is custom and made in house. All items appear to be top quality. I had the guava pastry, bacon egg and cheese on biscuit, and a flat white. The guava pastry was phenomenal. Super soft, delicate, flakey, and the guava jam inside was so flavorful. The flat white was properly prepared to the right foam consistency and temperature. It was made with dark roast, and I don't typically like dark roast coffee, but this one was still enjoyable. The BEC was decent. The biscuit was very nice as well as the bacon, but the sponge style egg needs to go! Why can't anyone in this area prepare an egg properly? I ordered an iced caramel latte and it was EXTREMELY sweet (and had no taste of coffee).
