I go for a Florida Man latte which includes a homemade orange syrup made using a concentrate of flavor from an orange tea. They always have rotating flavors depending on the season, but they are always made in-house and not Monin, Torani, etc. They have great food menu, and their Cuban toast breakfast sandwich is FIRE! I've recently been stopping into the SOG Cafe and had the pleasure of meeting the team and owners, Omar and Ron. I work with a family owned restaurant supplier, so originally met them on the business side of things but I'm definitely glad I did because I got to try their Cortado!!! My new addiction! There was no beer, no Norm, no Woody or Sam... but there were high stools and that feeling that you were in a place where everybody knows your name-and your order! This is clearly a locals spot, with lots of regulars-but it's also a welcoming place for newbies. DOY (dear old Yelp) led me to SOG (South of Gandy?) around 8am on a weekday morning. It was quiet when I got there-just one couple sitting at a table by the window. I'll bet that's a weekly habit for them-sitting by that window. There was one long table with wooden bench seats-two small tables with chairs-and at least one high counter with white metal stools. You order at the front counter, just inside the door, and they'll bring your items to your table. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The Cuban toast is a great combination of crunchy/soft/chewy. I wasn't totally sold on the matcha, but that's my fault, not theirs. It's hit or miss with me. It's not a big place, but it's cute and comfy, with a bright, colorful mural by the front counter and merch. By the time I left, people lined up outside the door. Clearly, they're loyal to this spot-and I can understand why. It's on a corner, in a two story commercial building with outdoor seating/picnic tables and a parking lot. Prices seemed very comparable to other breakfast spots. Go get yourself a cuppa cozy! read more

Coffee was good, and they offer coconut milk. Small shop with quite a few seats. we really enjoyed the banana toast. Service was great. I wouldn't recommend for trying to do any work or reading, it's a busy shop and the acoustics in the space make it a touch on the loud side. Hands down, the best cafe in Tampa! I'm a little apprehensive to write this review so we can keep it to ourselves. This place not only makes you feel like family (your pups too), but they also have THE BEST coffee in Tampa, paired with quick service food and smoothies. This small local business is definitely worth a try. Starting with the only negative, there is very limited and tight parking. I felt I was continuously watching my car through the window, because the parking spaces were so small. Besides that, this is a great little cafe to stop off for a coffee or healthy small meal. The avocado toast might not be the "best tasting" I've ever had, but it is truly the freshest. Just a sliced avocado and drizzle of olive oil on really good bread, with a sprinkle of chili flake. So simple and makes me feel like I'm eating quality food, not mashed up avocado spread. Banana toast was amazing. I know you're thinking, how good can banana toast be? The flaky sea salt and cacao nibs really elevate it, and the quality of the bread supercedes others. I also enjoyed an affogato, perfect little treat for the day. Decided to try a new coffee shop and stumbled upon this one. I've heard they have a great vanilla latte and as a consistent seeker of those i can agree they do good work. Big plus, they have decaf espresso! (Not always sought and very hard to find) so A+ in my book. They also offer good brands of alternative milks that won't change the taste of the latte. I also tried the Cuban and it was good. Nothing too special there but hits the spot if you have the craving. The fresh pressed oj did lack but that isn't their fault the oranges just weren't sweet but i appreciate that it's offered. The staff was also very friendly. Fresh tortillas and toppings by far the best breakfast tacos I've ever had! The cinnamon crumb was perfectly moist and also fresh and the oat latte was amazing. Everyone is always so welcoming and the food is the bomb.com. so many people always come back and it is definitely my go to coffee spot

They only had one person at the register and service was slow. The food coming out was also slow. The Cuban toast was great (3 stars for that). The coffee, well, I wouldn't know because I couldn't prepare my coffee correctly. Their setup with the cream and sugar was in a weird place and hard to find, which made preparing my coffee impossible. So I just threw my coffee away. The egg tacos were dry and they give you too little salsa. Plus they put salt and pepper on the eggs and they were salty. This is not really somewhere to have a proper breakfast. This is somewhere to get food to go. I also wouldn't call this a "cafe" since they don't have a proper setup to prepare your coffee (with half-half, sugar etc.). I'm not sure what this place is but I won't be back. I think we spent like $40 and for that I could have been served by a server in a restaurant and been able to prepare my coffee correctly. read more
