They gave me the smallest amount of beans and rice i have ever seen not to mention they were straight water. and not to mention the shredded chicken tasted like absolute nothing and wasn't even shredded but big fat chucks of chicken in my food. I proceeded to explain it's legal tender and they're obligated by law to take the coin at its value on the coin. The employee literally went to check with the manager. How are you a whole adult and do not know what is and is not legal money in this country and be so confident in your own ignorance to boot. It is beyond me. In the few short months I've lived here, our local Cafe Rio has quickly become a favorite. I enjoy the cheese quesadilla with fajita veggies and guac on the side. Every single employee has been friendly and kind except one, which is pretty good. I did go online and let the company know about the one that I didn't feel did a good job. I always use the drive-thru and the food is done quickly, served piping hot, and just as fresh as can be. I enjoy the chips and guac also, but don't often order those because I feel like they charge more for that than it's worth. I've also enjoyed the cheese nachos with fajita veggies, but find that the bottom chips don't usually get much cheese so after the top layer of nachos is gone I'm essentially left with just chips and the fajita veggies. All in all, I feel like the food is worth the cost, especially given how much you can personalize your order and the amount I get. I'd definitely recommend Cafe Rio. read more

I love their sweet pork barbacoa burrito. My husband and I share it as there is a lot. It is delicious. My only negative is that here in San Tan valley, the rice is inconsistent. Sometimes the rice is not fully cooked. This is not good and it makes the rice unenjoyable. Other times it's cooked perfectly. Their guacamole is really good but too expensive for the little cup they give. I also like their tomato relish. When a restaurant has inconsistent food it makes ding there a bit of a gamble. The food is great, but the staff isn't. They never give me a receipt unless I ask, and I often don't remember. I get home and want to scan the receipt for the rewards, but rarely can. I also like filling out the survey for the free chips and salsa, but can't without the receipt. I also despise that they always hand me the payment machine which asks for a tip. This isn't a tipping job, so stop guilting people! Remove that option from your machine, and just take my card and swipe it yourself. read more

I always enjoy the food but why every time I order pickup or DoorDash is at least one or two things missing?

The past 2 times that I've ordered from this location, my order has been wrong. The last time, I asked for tomatillo sauce on 2 orders of Double Enchiladas, and, instead, received this nasty sweet/gravy type sauce. It was so bad thay we just threw them out. This time, I again ordered 2 Double Enchiladas, one with steak, and one with beef barbacoa. I received some sort of shredded beef on both...also the chips that I ordered on the side were not cooked all the way (were chewy) and I received the smallest portion of rice and beans that I've ever seen. I mean, like a laughable amount. I should also mention that the corn tortillas were cold and stiff so they must have thrown them in the microwave for like maybe 15 seconds and called it good. I don't know who makes the food at this location but seriously, do better. read more

I'm sorry to say that the food here was not good, I don't usually return or leave reviews when I have unpleasant experiences but this one was just upsetting, I wanted to grab enchiladas which sounds amazing right, I got the enchiladas the chips and salsa and horchata sadly though every one of the items tasted horrible, when I tried the horchata it tasted like plastic and I thought okay maybe I just got a bad cup of horchata I'm sure the foods good, no. the meat inside the enchiladas tasted like they poured a pound of sugar in them the beans tasted like bbq and the tomatoes were mush, and the salsa weirdly tasted like rotten pumpkin and to make it worst the chips were completely stale, I was so sad because this was my first time coming here and was craving Mexican food so badly but the food was so inedible and I paid over 20$ for my meal I decided to take it back for a refund, when I went up I tried to be as nice as I could because I didn't want to be one of those over the top rude customers, but when the manager came to speak to me he was very mean and condescending he was basically insinuating that I was what was wrong and not the food but I even had my brother and boyfriend try the food and they both said it was bad, all in all horrible experience in both the food and speaking with the manager, I hope he in the future can take criticism better and maybe a new job because customer service is not the one and that is coming from a person that does a job specifically in customer service, don't go here go to chipotle or Filibertos if you want something fast and Mexican style. read more
