The name and design of the place totally gives the impression it's a good place to grab a quick burrito or taco for lunch at a fair price. I ordered the Birria burrito and a drink. It was $18.00! Besides the burrito I received a small handful of chips. The burrito looked beautiful golden brown, cooked to perfection. But something about it just isn't very good. It had all the usual ingredients, but it didn't have much flavor. I might describe it as a birria burrito made by someone who has never actually had a birria burrito and only seen them on menus or in pictures. It was fancy, for sure, like one might expect at a more upscale Mexican restaurant. But ultimately, disappointing. Edit: after reading other reviews, I think part of the problem with the birria burrito I got was it was 90% nearly flavorless rice. Like another reviewer said, "I didn't order a rice burrito with a pinch of birria; I ordered a birria burrito. And that also makes the price even more insulting. And it cost three times what it should have. This place is called the Taco Spot, so ACT LIKE IT. I doubt I'll go back. I can't see paying upscale restaurant prices for a burrito that only ranks a 5 out of 10 for flavor and satiation. Sorry, but a more appropriate name might be The Taco Flop. read more

This place always hits the spot! The food is authentic and quick. The customer service at this location lacked unfortunately but we still left happy and full! They have authentic Mexican Jugos and Horchatas. Lots of fountain drinks and their salsas are fire. They also have keto cheese tacos, which is strangely not on the menu. Honestly, I was very disappointed in the lack of flavor. I had ordered a Al pastor plate, horchata, and an order of grilled jalapeños and everything was incredibly bland. The horchata was mostly water, the jalapeños (that you have to pay extra for) weren't even the slightest bit spicy, and an awkward texture as they were only grilled for what seemed to be 1 minute or two (still raw and crunchy on the inside). As for as the Al pastor fries, they had only a few pieces of meat, no sour cream or guacamole. I love discovering new taco places but this place is not it. And no where close. 1/10 , will never eat here again. (If you want delicious pastor, free chiles that'll light your butt up, try Unos Tacos, or Cali Tacos, or even Tacoboys if you're in the Tempe/west valley. This place should have so many more reviews than it does, it is absolutely amazing. I have been seeing videos and posts about birria, which is a type of soup with tons of seasonings and such. I saw that they had ramen birria and I was sold. First off, the ramen birria smelled so so good I was so excited to dig in. Second off, I decided to get it with tacos so I could dip it in the ramen. Hands down the best thing I have ever tasted. I highly recommend if you do like spicy, authentic, Mexican food. The service was quick and the lady who took our order was super helpful. read more

This spot just opened up nearby me so we decided to give it a try. They have street tacos for $2 on Tuesdays which is a great deal! You order at the counter to dine in or for takeout. They have a selection of tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, combos with fries, and even a fusion with tacos inside a ramen that I haven't tried yet but intend to next time! Definitely get the consome to dip your Burria tacos in (or just drink it's that good). We've tried the surf and turf burrito bowl and a selection of their tacos. I'd definitely get the tacos again but the burrito bowl was a little carb heavy and could use more lettuce/tomato/veggies incorporated for some different flavors and textures. They have a green and red salsa that's really good as well. The ambiance is casual with a selection of high tops to dine-in and they play nice festive music and have one tv inside that plays food promos. The music isn't overly loud but enough that you wouldn't want to be taking business calls or anything. The service has always been really friendly as well. read more

I really enjoyed the Taco Spot! Lots of great options with some well made tacos. The surf-and-turf was filled with meat and fish and some really amazing salsa and veggies. I would have liked a few more options for non-meat / veggie / fish tacos, but oh well. Service was nice and friendly. Parking can be a REAL challenge due to the number of businesses sharing the strip mall space. Had to park pretty far down in the parking lot in front as it was just packed. There is additional parking in the back but that was filled. Taco Spot itself was not that busy, so the parking issue was likely due to the other businesses there. read more

Upon receiving our food after a short time, it was missing flavor especially for birria, the consume was watered down, and the salas were okay at best. We ordered carne asada nachos, 3 quesabirria tacos and a pastor street taco with 2 drinks, which came to $40 bucks!! I thought this was a little high when I ordered but I figured you get what you pay for. I was Wrong!! The Nachos were horrible, the carne asada had little taste and the cheese sauce seemed watered down. The street taco was extremely small. Tried this place for the first time today after I learned Backyard Taco was closed on Sundays and I can say I have found my place for Tacos. Everything was amazing the ambiance was fun and had my 6 year old son dancing in his chair while he ate. The service was fast and outstanding. We tasted a shrimp taco from TS food truck while at the Taco Festival and were so excited to find one close to us. Counter service pleasant, and brought food to table, a surprise in such a casual atmosphere. Seating was uncomfortable but tolerable.
