This is a quaint place right off 6A. The menu is small and well done. The Breakfast Strata and Breakfast Burrito were flavorful & attractive. There is an almost limitless menu of coffees & lattes as well as some refreshing iced teas (ginger peach & hibiscus to name a couple). The cookies are amazing! So are the muffins and pastries. I had high expectations for this place given its 5 star rating. I had the cape cod cranberry chicken salad sandwich which was good. The cranberry bread was thin and toasted and in between with a mound of delicious chicken salad. My boyfriend had the power quinoa bowl which was average. The bowl consisted of deli turkey meat which was a slight turn off. We didn't get a chance to try any of their baked good. I also had an immune smoothie which was average. My boyfriend had a large iced latte which was overly milky. The staff was nice enough to give us another shot. Come to realize, the place is staffed by students for the purpose of developing their work experience which is a great concept. I have been going here for many years, and I really love this cafe and the work they do with the school. However, their prices have increased exponentially, and I can no longer justify going. Yesterday I ordered a veggie burger wrap and a smoothie, and it came to $24. This is not New York City. The veggie burger wrap had no meat (obviously) and came with no sides--not even a pickle. Just a wrap in a bag and it cost $15 with tax. That is absolutely highway robbery. I understand the pandemic made things difficult, but those prices are completely unaffordable. What's not to love about this place? The building is just adorable. Post and beam, natural wood finishes, skylights letting sunshine in everywhere, really beautiful. They are open for breakfast and lunch, with a menu on the small side but one that covers all important bases. Chili, chowder, soup of the day, egg dishes, and a display case full of lovely baked goods. Someone is really paying attention to detail (there is ice water at the self-serve coffee station in a glass dispenser, little things like that). If my review ended here it'd be well worth a visit. But the icing on the cake is that it's part of The Riverview School, which focuses on complex learning disabilities in adolescents and young adults. Students of the school staff the cafe to learn hands-on job skills. Everything about this place rocks. read more

You won't go hungry or feel underwhelmed by choice as they offer creative and yummy selection of breakfast lunch sandwiches. There are also baked goods and yogurt parfaits. I've found the staff to be friendly and very customer oriented. It has awesome patio seating surrounded by flower boxes. The back common room seating is also comfortable. Such a cute cafe! And there is a thrift store attached! Very good prices, very comfortable seating. I have a breakfast wrap with sausage, egg, cheddar and avocado and it came with fresh sliced watermelon. My boyfriend got a turkey club and a cup of clam chowder- the chowder was amazing! I assume the sandwich was too because there's non left! The best part was the coffee- most breakfast places seem to serve New England coffee which is just not good. The service was so great! The staff were very friendly and helpful and were very easy to talk to. Although we just got a couple of drinks I'd definitely stop by for another drink or possibly a bite to eat. And it was probably one of the best hot chocolates that I've had in quite a while. Cafe Riverview is a cute little cafe on Route 6A in Sandwich. The food and service are quite lovely. Plus, it is a great experience for the local students who are learning about food service, so I feel like I am helping out with the community by visiting. This was a nice little cafe serving a great school. The breakfast burritos and bagel we had there were amazing, and the morning glory muffin was delicious with a chewy top.
