A very nice cozy little breakfast place we stopped at in our way back home from Provincetown. It is inside a small hotel and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was all good, but, if you're salt sensitive avoid the corned beef hash. It was delicious but could have been even better with a little less salt. Bathrooms weee clean and the coffee was excellent ! We will stop here whenever we're in the area. read more

Stopped for breakfast after a week on the Cape. Blueberry pancakes fluffy with nice crispy edges, though not very generous with the blueberries. A "half order" of two pancakes was plenty. A side order of sausage offered three links of brown 'n serve. We are outside on a pleasant patio-type space. It was all fine- nothing out of the ordinary. No complaints, but I'll probably try another spot next time. read more

This strip of 6 has been a honky-tonk tourist trap infested blight shortly after Henry Beston put his final period on The Outermost House. But it was 7 am saturday, and a scone wasn't going to cut it. We were suspicious. Why only 36 reviews? Would their coffee taste like Maxwell House filtered through a sock like most Cape establishments? Cover your eyes a bit as you pull in the lot - I mean, the tent out front...eeegads! Service was lively, and the food was excellent. Real fresh orange juice, delicious greek omelette, and corned beef hash with eggs over easy. I'm a guy who thinks that the best part of St. Patricks Day is the leftover corned beef - I know my way around hash. I've eaten enough to make a cardiologist suffer palpitations. This was a top 10 hash. It may be #1...it's that good. Not mushy, crisply cooked, not dry for all that crispness. Nailed it. And the sour dough toast you ask? Well, I've lived in SF. This was excellent, crusty artisinal stuff. No, it wasn't Acme level, or even Boudins. But for a Cape joint? Great. Lest you think I'm a paid shill for this joint, I'll mildly ding the potatoes. They were good to very good. Not OMG category. And, to confirm my pettiness, there was no hot sauce on the table. Coffee was good. It wasn't Peet's good. But better than the aforementioned Maxwell House through the sock trick. Maybe a 7. As Dave Portnoy might say, "for the Cape it's a 9". These were not dainty portions. I see comments elsewhere that portion size was a problem (old review). If you consider these portions too small your friends better stage an intervention. And lastly, since I'm cheap AF, I'm going to say that the total bill for the 2 meals, coffees, and one OJ was about $48. Again, you're on the Cape. That's a steal. And just kidding about that "cheap AF" thing. I tipped 25% cuz that's how I roll. Generously tip your server, or forever relinquish your right to bitch about service. No photos. I don't usually write reviews... but this place was astronomical! We had the chocolate chip pancakes, and quite frankly I've never had pancakes like this ever in my life. The softest inside with the nice crispy outside. We had the ham and cheese omelette on the side and even that was cooked to perfection. Had to remember this experience by purchasing the Harrigan's Cafe sweatshirt the staff wear. Had to feel one with them, ya know. Felt like home. 1000% recommend. Wonderful breakfast spot! We came here two mornings in a row when we stayed nearby. My garden omelette was delightful and I loved that they offered greens instead of potatoes and had a very nice quality sourdough as well. Coming to Harrigan's is a treat, plus if someone is staying at the Wellfleet Motel & Lodge it makes it very convenient with just a walk away. It's actually open to anyone to even non-hotel residents. It's very important to note everything is delicious here, but there is a lot of waiting involved including getting a table and waiting for the food, unless getting there between 7 and 9am, the service is a bit quicker. For us, waiting took about 30 - 35 minutes at 9:30. The food took another half over. I've gotten a variety of different breakfast dishes within the four days which includes pancakes, french toast, and also an omelet which all were as I mentioned earlier, delicious. I'm not sure how they do it, but they put a lot of work into it. I got orange juice for every breakfast that we came to. All the waiters and waitresses were friendly throughout our breakfast and were very understanding when we had questions. They work hard and I applaud them for it. Then ordered the regular breakfast 2 eggs, delicious potatoes, bacon (other meat options). and English muffin (other bread options). We stayed at the Wellfleet Motor Lodge, so it was really convenient that we were able to come down for breakfast at Harrigan's. It took a while for the food to come out, but everything was good once it arrived. As my mom was eating her omelette, she bit down on something hard and spit it out. It ended up being a piece of a broken dish and we're so thankful she didn't chip her tooth on it. We looked back at the picture I had taken of her omelette and realized that if you zoom in on the toppings, you can see it sitting next to one of the peppers. We told one of the waiters but he honestly didn't seem to care, so we told another waitress who did and was horrified. I'm sure this was just a weird fluke, and other than that we would've been happy with our breakfast. read more

Our 1976/77 High School Class gathered in Wellfleet in Sept. We reached out to Ted at Harrigan's Cafe for assistance requesting he reserve tables for 20-25 class members. Ted and team were wonderful. We selected the date, determined the best time and reviewed the wonderful menu. Ted called us the morning of the reservation to confirm and indicated the staff was ready for our arrival. When we arrived, service was prompt, the food was really tasty (especially the pancakes and homemade hash) and we were toasty in the outside tent. We will definitely be returning Harrigan's. Had a delicious breakfast here this past Memorial Day weekend. We were seated right away under the tent outside, which is where I preferred to sit, even though it was rainy and windy. The food was okay. It is better than a fast food for sure. However, I felt the portions were small. I ordered a eggs benedict and there were barely any roasted potatoes on my plate. I was expecting just a little more especially considering the price. Most people vacationing here are doing sporty activities like hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, etc. and looking for a hearty breakfast and a strong coffee. The food was okay but I felt cheated by the small portions and the lack of coffee options. The only coffee option is the drip type. I am always disappointed when a sit-down breakfast restaurant does not serve espresso based coffee drinks. Don't understand why such breakfast places don't serve lattes and such. They could earn more money and it doesn't take much effort considering the machinery out there. read more
