My server was efficient and polite. It was more like a 40-minute wait but it came out hot. Bread had a slight vinegary aftertaste and didnt have enough zest, but it was still good. I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, "The best he's ever had!" I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried. So that's why I'm not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+? I liked the wholesome feel of the restaurant, like everybody knew each other, and the fact that it was pet-friendly was a bonus too. I noticed this place off the Main Street and was curious. This place has been open since last October and yesterday was the first time I knew the place existed. It doesn't open until 4pm and I'm usually back home by then. It has a nice ambiance. Motorcycles adorn the walls. At least two TVs are high up on the walls. The dark wood adds earthiness. There are electric outlets under the bar to charge your phone. I had my dog Hansel with me and the open-air design attracted me to this place. I sat at a picnic table facing the street. Hansel enjoyed looking down on dogs walking by, thanks to the elevated platform we were on. Service was prompt. I noticed that the menu wasn't very extensive and the prices were on the high side. I settled for the two Brisket Tacos for $18.99. I had water to drink. The tacos were very good. The beef was well spiced and there was no skimping on any of the ingredients. The baked beans were sweet, the cole slaw a mere 1-ounce serving. It was a tasty meal. They serve $5 margaritas during Happy Hour 4-5pm weekdays.

In the world we live in, it is a rare thing to find a hidden gem. In the world of dining experiences, it is equally rare to find a diamond in a sea of sand. Yet, as Cafe Roka in Bisbee, Arizona proves, it is possible. Located in an beautiful Victorian building in the heart of historic downtown, Cafe Roka immediately captivates you with charm. The staff are absolutely wonderful, attentive, friendly and clearly not only KNOW the menu, but go out of the way to make sure your dining experience is unparalleled! The Cafe has a full wine and spirit menu with master mixologists making magical elixirs. Live music fills the air. Though the menu is not extensive, it should not be and there is a broad enough selection to meet the desires of just about any palette. Start with a small plate. The smoked trout deviled eggs are simply scrumptious! There is a salad course. The salad is crisp and fresh and the house dressing is wonderful. Rather than the menu items, we chose the nightly specials. The nightly specials are tempting treats and making a choice is difficult, guaranteed. Also guaranteed is the fact that no matter which special you choose, you will not be sorry. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. It was done to perfection and had just the right amount of spice to make my tastebuds scream with delight! My partner ordered the Filet. It was a melt in your-mouth tender delight with a sea of seasoning that absolutely created an orchestra of symphonic flavors. Sadly, we were too full to try the deserts, but they all look great. Coffee and a nice liquor topped one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. Word to the wise: make reservations well in advance. This fine restaurant was recommended to us by several people who heard we wanted to check out the town of Bisbee. When we checked into our hotel, The Carrick, we asked them about it and they said they loved it and picked up the phone on our behalf to secure reservations for us. We are so glad that they did. It was an excellent experience. We started off with a lovely salad, the dressing was excellent! I could have just eaten a big salad. Next, we were brought a fabulous and refreshing lemon sorbet to cleanse our pallet. For our entrees, Don ordered the short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. When he touched the short rib with his fork, it fell apart. It was so tender and flavorful. It's now his #1 short rib dinner. I ordered the special which was an amazing dish. It was a wonderful variety of vegetables on top of flank steak on top of short rib raviolis with some kind of delicious sauce. I tasted some pesto, but not sure what the rest of the flavors were. It was finished with blue cheese. I would order this again in a heart beat. We finished with the Nutella cheesecake. It was one of the best cheese cakes we've ever had. One of the best meals we have had in a while!e were delighted with the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the staff. We were still seated right away and got our food and drinks in a timely manner. We shared a bunch of appetizers that were all delicious. We each got a different entree and none of us were disappointed.The menu changes regularly to make it more exciting.There are multiple levels to the cafe and each level is nicely decorated and it adds a lot to the ambience.We had a fun 4 course meal and loved it.Fresh, flavorful, generous plates of Italian with a twist. The menu is fresh and seasonal with something for just about everyone.The restaurant is spread out over 2 floors with a mezzanine between floors. You need to use stairs to get to the mezzanine and the second floor. I was able to go up the stairs no issues but had to be very careful going down and take my time. read more

I live in Bisbee but I've eaten at the best in Paris, Florence, San Francisco etc. So this rating is based on not just rural Arizona, but the best. Rod Kass (RoKa), is a man of great food sensabilities. This is the kind of place that sophisticated locals go to, whatever great city you are in. Interesting, simple, fresh, perfectly prepared (with the exception of the not house made ravioli), nicely sauced entrees, and well conceived soup, salad, sorbet, main course fixed price basic meal with always interesting and delicious appetizers and house made desserts to add on. The wine list is very good and the bar meister mixes the best. Many of the staff have been there from the beginning and the excellent service reflects it. I've been to Roka lots of times over the years, and I swear at this last visit, last weekend, they were more outstanding than ever. The bartender (sorry, didn't catch his name) was eager to share info about various drink options and did a fine martini (only two ingredients, and a garnish, but some put it all together just so, you know?). There were more vegetarian options than I recall in the pre-pandemic menu, perhaps reflecting local preferences. Our group ordered two of these and found them full of wonderful flavors. I never worry about expense when a splendidly prepared meal in a lovely setting is the fare!!
