We come to Cafe Sabor each year for our annual Bear Lake trip. We are seriously considering changing this tradition next year, because of the poor service. Several mistakes were made in our party of 8, and one dish was not even served until about 15 minutes after everyone else was finished with their food. They asked us at the beginning if we wanted the checks split, and asked how to split it. Immediately after bringing out the long overdue meal, the check was delivered to our table in one check. It took even more time for them to sort out splitting the check. This was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

There are not a lot of options at Bear Lake in late September. We've eaten here before and we're underwhelmed by the service, food, and prices. This time, we found the same experience. The Curry Coconut soup was bland and lacking any kind of substance. Broth with a few pieces of chicken. The burrito I ordered was large, and just ok. I ordered the Chile Verde sauce and it came out as green sauce. It amazes me how many restaurants don't know the difference. There was 1 waiter for the indoor and outdoor service, so no fault of his own. Needless to say, we will find other options in the future. read more

Cafe Sabor was recommended by Lynne from the University in Logon. It's the only Mexican restaurant in the Bear Lake area. They use local meats which added a star to the review. The manager, Almondo was my server and he did and excellent job! I ordered the beef burrito and veggies. When it arrived I knew I couldn't eat it all. The taste of the beef took the burrito to another level for my taste buds. My friend had the Chipotle salad with bbq chicken salad which was also super tasty and filling. Came here for lunch today with some friends. We were looking for a good lunch place that was open on Sunday, and this is the one we came to. We ate outside, which was lovely. They have a big front porch and the weather was perfect for an outside lunch. The three of us ordered tacos, all different kinds. They were all pretty bland, and we tried to mask it with hot sauce, but it didn't work too well. Overall, the presentation was good, but the flavors weren't there for me. I had tried the fried ice cream at their Logan location and loved it. I recommended it to my friends, and we ordered it to share. There was nothing "fried" about it... it was just ice cream. It is supposed to be rolled in corn flakes and cinnamon sugar. We asked our waiter about it, and he said when he put it in the fryer all the toppings melted off. We went here with some friends on a hot, summery, covidy day. Our server brought me a house margarita instead of the Bear Lake one that was their specialty, and she gave me a 2 for 1 deal. That's great customer service! My fish tacos were delicious and if you've ordered those anywhere else, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes I've wondered if I'm even eating fish! This is the most bland and boring, flavored Mexican food I've ever had. We went into it knowing we weren't going to get authentic - but holy hell! The salsa was straight up marinara sauce, I got the chicken fajitas thinking that was the safest bet and omg was I wrong. It had a bunch of random stuff in it, and the sides it came with; beans, rice, shredded cheese, were all melted and watery. The chicken mixture tasted like tomato sauce and oregano. Then I ordered sangria like a dummy- it came out looking and tasting like lemonade. I know we're in Utah, but cmon... On top of that- the service was garbage. The teenage waitstaff sat around on their phones and after we were given food and drink we were never acknowledged again. I had to ask her twice to get the check. We stopped in for dinner on Saturday night. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly busy... but that quickly changed within 10 minutes of our arrival. We were quickly seated and began to review the menu, when a massive amount of people showed up. It went from "fairly" busy...to insanely busy; with the arrival of two extremely large parties (17 people in one of the groups); as well as several smaller parties. The reason I am adding this detail, is for the purpose of sharing how incredibly impressed we were with those working that night. They ran their tails off and never missed a beat. We counted a total of three people running the entire food service portion (2 servers and 1 busser) and 1-2 people in the kitchen. Our drinks were kept full... chips and salsa, the same. Our meals came out and were fantastic. Our server checked on us several times throughout the course of our meal. Everything went about as good as you could ask for. The food was great and the servings were large. There aren't a lot of choices at Bear Lake, during the winter and early Spring, but Cafe Sabor has you covered. If you are looking for a great experience, this one is worth a visit. They have a great menu selection, great service, great prices and will leave you feeling satisfied and glad you decided to stop by. read more

I've been to the Cafe Sabor in Logan many times, but this is my first time to the location in Garden City, and it was just like my experience at the Logan location, excellent. Service was fast and correct, seating was generous (also thanks to the coronavirus), and the food was hot, generous and amazing. I had the chicken Mole, and I have had Mole from several places, including Red Iguana, and maybe I'll get flak for this, but this mole is right up there with the rest, and you don't have to sit in cramped seats, pay out your eyes and wait forever. The plantains they include with the mole are a great touch, not too spicy, but still flavorful. I HIGHLY recommend. Chips and salsa are free and crispy and tasty, and the drinks are cold, refills are free, and the servers are smiling, happy, and very nice and considerate. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I told him two coffees, one for my wife and one for me please. He then replies, " we don't have coffee." He then says "would you like to see our beverage menu?" I told him " yes please." He then gave us the drink menu so we can see what they offered and low and behold, the menu had coffee on the list! My wife and I looked at each other clueless. We then tell the gentlemen" but you have coffee on the menu," then he tells my wife and I that "they don't serve coffee since no one in this town drinks coffee!" We were forced to order other drinks since they "did not serve." We ordered our food and one of the girls who gave us our orders, as she was leaving our table I asked her " do you guy have coffee?" She said " we can sure make some for you if you would like?" I then told her "can I get two cups of coffee please." As soon as our waiter ( tall slim guy) found out that we ordered coffee he approached our table and said " Oh you ordered coffee!" My wife and I said "Yes we did." Oh it got a little more crazy towards the end. One of the girls came to our table gave us boxes to go and our check. " this guys come by our table and asked like if we were going to leave with our paying " have you given the girl your payment?" But I was very grateful to have an option besides burgers in Garden City. We ordered to-go and they were quick and pleasant about it. They have us a large bag of chips and salsa along with it. And the chips were out of a chip warmer which I love. The mild salsa was super super mild. Honestly it tasted a little like pizza sauce. But those in our group that don't like spice really enjoyed it. I wish we would have gotten the regular to try. Ordered the Cali chicken chimi. Food was good, although nothing spectacular. Great spot. My friends and I were at the lake all day and wanted Mexican and we were all pleased. Cafe Sabor is taking great social distance measures. Do not waste your time. Waited 45 min to be seated. Ordered alcohol and it wasn't bad but not great at all. There was only one server. Most of us ordered tacos and one veggie burrito. The pork taco I got was just wet with juice. I mean WET. The carne Asada was sooo bland and the onions were mush. Other person got two tacos but was brought the wrong taco and the other one was never received along with a side of rice and beans. Rice and beans were also terrible. Just don't. read more

WORST. MEXICAN FOOD. EVER!!! I've never had Mexican food with no flavor, chips were stale and had no taste, one salsa looked like ketchup diluted with water (they don't charge for chips, if they did that would be robbery!). The burritos are huge and the red sauce that comes with it is the terrible watery salsa served with the cardboard chips. The Tortilla soup was vegetable broth with some veggies, hard avocado and cubed chicken, bland, flavorless (picture looks better than it tasted). The service is done by young kids, every interaction was done with different waiters or staff. The locals seems to like the place, like a lot of things in Utah, bland is the way they like it! I give this sad place 1 star for not getting diarrhea, Garden City is a very nice place with just a few restaurants, 2 great coffee/crepes places and a decent pizza place who can serve beer being across from the LDS church. I ended up at Cafe Sabor after discovering the walk up place across the street stopped serving Mexican food. It was a busy night, the pizza place I called earlier had a two and a half hour wait for pickup, so the family decided they wanted Mexican. I would not let one obstacle stop me! I walked up to the to go counter. Autumn handed me a menu and was very helpful. I had never been to Cafe Sabor before, and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. I placed my order which Autumn said would be ready in 20 minutes. 15 minutes later she walked outside with the food in hand. Plenty of napkins and utensils in the bag! My friend got the combo plate with enchiladas and a taco, we assumed the taco would be an authentic street taco, and it turned out to be a hard shell with chicken.
